Here are some questions and answers to explain the action that was taken.
What happened to Silicon Valley Bank on Sunday night?
Regulators including the Federal Reserve, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. and the Treasury Department said the depositors of SVB, which failed last week, would have full access to their money starting Monday. They also said they would protect all the depositors of another bank, Signature Bank, that was forced to close on Sunday.
What about federal deposit insurance?
In many cases, these banks’ deposits weren’t covered by the deposit insurance that is familiar to many individual bank customers. FDIC insurance typically extends up to $250,000 for a deposit. But SVB and Signature both had most of their deposits in accounts that were larger than that, such as corporate accounts. So they were effectively uninsured. …
Are all uninsured deposits now covered by government guarantees?

Does that mean other banks are still vulnerable?
The Federal Reserve took another action on Sunday, which was to establish something called the Bank Term Funding Program. What this will do is ensure that a bank that is holding safe assets, such as Treasurys or government-backstopped mortgage bonds, can bring them to the Fed and swap them for cash for up to a year. They could use that cash to grant customers’ requests for their deposit money. The idea is to help banks that run into similar liquidity problems as SVB to meet redemptions. …

Pray: Father, Your will be done in the banking system. We put You Lord over our finances, knowing that You will protect them in the name of Jesus.
Praying anything else might be opposite of His will. Our banking system is corrupt and He may want it to come down!
Let us give thanks to God that nothing comes to us without first passing by Him. There is nothing going on in this earth of which He is not aware. Let us come together in prayer requesting that many more become convicted of their need for repentance and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord of their lives. Let us all be aware and searching ourselves to make certain we seek His guidance in all matters. Let us also be aware of the time in which we are living to keep our main focus upon Jesus and His imminent return. No one of us knows the exact day when He will come but let us stand against the evil intentions of the wicked one being worked at by his followers. Let us stand in prayer & love for repentance of our leaders or their replacement by God fearing, responsible leaders in positions of power, these things in Jesus mighty and precious name, amen. Let us all remember that God the Father has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind.
Father, in the name of Jesus, I do not know how to effectively and fervently pray about these current failed banking issues but your word says your Holy Spirit will help me pray, so I trust your unfailing faithfulness to do what your word says you will do. Father, let your will be done in America as it is in Heaven. Father, there is so much political and financial corruption in our nation, power, wealth, and luxury are idols to many, and we ask that you help us repent on behalf of our nation for thilese sins, Father, convict all who need to be convicted regarding sins, poor decisions, carelessness, and lack of wisdom that contributed to this financial mess, Father, we ask that you take care of your people who were affected, and protect our nation overall from complete financial ruin. Father we have seen one national disaster after another during the Biden administration and it has been depressing and discouraging, and we ask you to intervene with Joe Biden, Father, visit him in dreams and visions and instruct him to fear YOU more than those pushing the New World Order, and Workd Banking system, Father prepare our next and future Presidents, Senators, Congress, and Govenors, fill those seats with moral God fearing people who love America, cleanse our nation from all political and financial corruption. We ask believing you honor your word and answer prayer and we thank you for that.
Heavenly Father, You tell us in Your word to be aware and pay attention to the signs of the times. You clearly tell us to not fear what man can do to us, but for us to keep our eyes focused on You! As we come to Resurrection Sunday, where we celebrate what Jesus- Yeshua did, let us remember Who You are: You are the LORD who provides; You are the LORD my peace; and You are the LORD who is present, just to name a few! Jesus You are our Deliverer! “You are the Deliverer who has come out of heaven. You are (our) rock and (our) fortress and (our) Deliverer, (our) God in whom (we) take refuge …(our) shield … (our) stronghold” Rom.11:26 & Psalm 18:2 No matter how this world tries to induce fear, let us find our Peace in the Rock of our Salvation ! ✝️
I remember that infamous line from the movie, “Cool Hand Luke”, when the warden said to Paul Newman who had craftily escaped the hard labor in the fields, only to be captured and brought back to the old southerner as he quipped to a beleaguered Luke in chains, “what we have here is a failure to communicate.” The great spiritual failure of our times is simply this: the greatest sin is when a nation or people asseverate quite flippantly and with utter arrogance towards our Lord that there is no sin. So it is with the scoundrels who run our government, banks, universities, businesses and institutions and a people who go along with the frenetic economy that is a one way ticket to financial ruin, poverty and hell. Pope Leo the Great in his great encyclical, Rerum Novarum, lays out with wonderful clarity and candor what responsibilities we all have to the Lord and one another and that the economy is made for the dignity of man and not vice versa.
I can remember when my Grandma Antoinette lived in a two bedroom apartment in Queens, NY and raised my mother, aunt and uncle while paying only $62 per month up until the Lord called her home in 1977. At least we had a sense of equity about what should be charged to our neighbors without bankrupting them and our nation only a few decades ago. The rich will never commiserate with and render the justice needed to the poor until they themselves are brought low to the ground and truly understand what it is to be totally dependent on the Lord’s grace. This patrician senate and house of representatives swollen with pride and having made millions of dollars off the backs of us working people should pay heed to the prophet Nathan when he told King David about a man who commandeered a little lamb from his neighbor and left the poor guy destitute. King David, infuriated at such gall and temerity, said, “I’ll put this wretched man to death for doing such a thing”. And then the reply by Nathan to David, “you are that man”, the judgment upon the King for committing adultery with Bathsheba and sending her husband to the front lines to be killed to get him out of the way for good. As Saint James says so explicitly in his epistle, “he who says he is without sin calls God a liar.” And what prodigious liars we have today in America circa 2023!
We finance the enemies of God don;t we.
Father God we are blesssed and thankful for all that You have allowed us to earn and use for Your glory. Please guide us to do well for your glory by how we use and what we use for Your glory and for the benefit of others to know you and be filled with the real treasure–Jesus Christ.

I sense a lot of fear among GOD’S people! FATHER GOD please send YOUR angels to surround and protect and strengthen YOUR children for whatever battle we face now or in the future! I’m so grateful that in whatever situation we find ourselves in, we are already VICTORIOUS in JESUS NAME!
I know the FDIC will cover the $175 – $200 billion for SVB depositors and probably an equal amount for Signature. According to report FDIC only has $125 billion on the books. They have a line of credit of $100 billion And in an un usual situation $500 billion.
Two questions who holds the debt for that line of credit? And who determines it is an unusual situation?
Knowing that only deposits of $250,000 or less are guaranteed by the FRB, I wonder why people would invest way above that amount in any one bank. It seems to me that the wise thing would be to invest that amount with several different banks.
I pray for all the corrupt people at our financial institutions who continue to be helped by Federal bank regulators-let their eyes and ears be opened. Satan is laughing at the greed. Prayers needed for honest regulators to bear up under the weight of the corruption around them. I call out to God to protect whistleblowers who are guarding the gates despite the heavy burdens of working in this environment. I pray for those who are confused by what is happening at the Federal level that God would help them to see clearly and know that their God-given instincts are correct, and that this situation IS against everything the Lord is for. I pray more people will step up and not be aft=raid to speak the truth.

We know that Satan is behind all activity that involves killing, stealing and destroying. Let’s pray against what he is doing through the banking system. We can’t be distracted by what is seen but what is hiding in the background. Lets take our authority and stop his activity through weak people who easily get confused and persuaded to make foolish decisions. Isn’t that what we are taught to enforce what Jesus did for us? Bind the enemy from his activities to steel and destroy. We know we have deceived people in high government places being lead by evil spirits. Isn’t it a wasted pray to ask Him to do what He told us to do? Yes Mary, but a loving parent also corrects a child when they are choosing the wrong direction or making harmful choices. It’s out of love that the Lord corrects us, his children. He’s not doing it in condemnation. He’s doing it to wake us up and hold us accountable to the lifestyles and choices that we are supposed to be choosing, in Christ.
Yes Mary, GOD was willing to not destroy Sodom and Gomorrah if there were 10 righteous men! There are thousands upon thousands of righteous who are praying the WORD of GOD and trusting and believing GOD for HIS deliverance! People often speak their fear and put their own doubt and unbelief and fear in their prayers! I have read the Bible through from cover to cover many many times and what I know is to trust GOD in all situations knowing that “all things are working together for our good!” Yes GOD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah; yet HE kept the righteous alive! HE destroyed Pharoah’s army; yet kept the Israelites alive! And on and on! GOD cannot be put in a box, and I trust HIM implicitly to ALWAYS take care of me! There are more and more coming in to the fold… but so many don’t want the struggles they start getting bombarded with because satan does everything he can to turn them away from God.
We must pray for new converts to understand that becoming a Christian comes with a price, but we don’t need to go it alone… far too many times the Church has gotten people saved but didn’t carry through with teaching them that Holy Spirit will help through each and every trial and hardship, bringing us out to the other side stronger in our faith.
The Church as a whole needs to be open and up front that being “in the army of The Lord” IS about being in BATTLE… a spiritual warfare battle.
But WE WHO BELIEVE JESUS PAVED THE WAY ARE ON THE WINNING SIDE!

I read in my devotions yesterday that “worry” should not be a part of our make up. it sighted the importance of staying focused on Christ and being thankful for all the many blessings we have and how our Lord and Savior is mindful of our needs. Of course we need to be able to pay our debts so money is the way obligations are met. I join in the praying for our banking systems that good judgement prevails as we travel this road.
I don’t truly have the ability to get my head around why banks fail. I know that a financial collapse has been predicted to happen in this country. How many banks can the government bail out?IHOPE AND PRAY THAT WE DON’T HAVE TO FIND OUT! Lord Jesus, we put all of our hope and faith in You. you alone know what the future holds, where our banking system, and economy, are concerned. We cry out to You, to keep our economy from collapse. We pray that you give our leaders wisdom, guidance, and direction. In Jesus’ mighty name.

However this seems very suspicious. Please address the risky and poor investment decisions these banks made in Crypto and tech companies. It appears to be another scam bailout by this administration to its donors.

Give us, dear Lord, the reminder that You alone are our Solid Rock Foundation whenever we are tempted to slip out of deeply trusting YOU.
