Right now, a brutal war is unfolding in the Middle East. Iran and Israel are trading explosive blows, decimating communities and claiming lives. Yet, amid the destruction, many Iranians are reportedly celebrating.

Why would these people, actively being attacked by Israel, be celebrating? In a recent CBN article, Lana Silk, CEO of Transform Iran and a previous IFA webcast guest, explains:
“The immediate reaction that we got from Iran was, for want of a better word, celebration,” she told CBN News. “I’ve seen videos going viral on social media with young people throwing parties literally as they watch the missiles coming down … It’s been surreal looking at that thinking, ‘Wow, these are people under attack and yet they welcome it.’”
Silk said she’s even seen messages from Iranians personally thanking Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “for finally doing something about this brutal regime.”
According to Silk, many Iranians are happy that their corrupt, oppressive leaders are finally being held accountable. Although there is some anxiety over food and gas shortages caused by the war, Silk and many Iranians are hopeful for change.
After all, it’s not hard to see why Iranians would be hopeful. As Silk explains, the people have been “brutalized for decades” by their leaders:
Silk explained that the dire situation in Iran has driven this reaction, calling the scenario there “intense” and detailing the many ways the government has restricted people’s rights.

“The people of Iran have been brutalized for decades now by this government, and a lot of people use the word ‘traumatized’ — that there is so much trauma across the country that people are dealing with from the implications of a controlling regime,” she said. “To the secondary implications of what people then do to each other when they’re in such dire circumstances.”
Israel’s attacks on Iran present a chance. This war could bring an end to the oppressive government that has harmed the people of Iran for decades. In light of this, we should pray. Let’s pray that revival spreads across Iran and that God would protect His people there!

Heavenly father, guide the United States as we support Israel, Israel… Protect both of us from the plans of the enemy. We praise you and worship you, Almighty God!
I believe that the western culture in particular are safer than before the takeout of the 3 bomb and missile sites.
We are thankful, along with our brothers and sisters in Iran, that You are toppling this evil regime. We give You all the glory, YHVH – regardless of who You choose to use to accomplish it – Israel, USA, Iranians themselves, earthquakes, etc. We leave that to Your wise and all-knowing Sovereignty!

Good reason for this war – Iranians, both believers and others, have been groaning for decades!
May our LORD protect these young Iranians whose despair over the brutal rules and treatment forced upon them by the current regime who have been in power for decades. They are willing even to risk death rather than to continue this. Let us pray for a Miracle for them. HE is able. Amen.
Unless it interferes with Your wise, preplanned, prophesied purpose for end-time events, I pray You will enable warring angels in the heavenlies to change the current terrorist, evil regime in Iran and allow the populace freedom to live free of brutality and free to believe in Yeshua without repercussion. Free to believe, practice and share their faith. Amen.

Father God, it is exciting to know that the Holy Spirit is at work among the Iranian population even as Satan has been ravaging that country for decades! We pray for protection for the populace, and we pray for powerful preachers and dissemination of the gospel in this war-torn land. We pray for bold and Spirit-filled believers to be courageous in sharing Jesus Chrisst during these tense and frightening moments! While mankind does militarily what needs to be done to free the Iranian people, we pray that You would be bringing the Kingdom of God into the midst of the darkness! Bless all those who speak His Name freely and clearly, and receive those whom You have chosen to know You through this conflict! Hallelujah!

Our Heavenly Father, we bow before you in humble adoration:
We pray for President Trump, all his staff and all world leaders. We ask you, Jesus Christ, to lead them to “Be still and know that you are GOD”, before any hasty decisions are made. Then, to ask for wisdom in each and every decision that is made, knowing, being led by our Heavenly Father, that those decisions are HIS will. We are all but instruments of the Lord. There is evil in this world, but above that, there is the Lord, waiting for us to come to Him. We surrender all to Him and ask for His guidance in everything, knowing that the outcome is always His perfect will. I give God all the Glory for what He has done for the world by sending His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, our risen Lord and Savior! COME, JESUS, COME
I pray for the Holy Spirit to move across the nation of Iran like a mighty flood, like a mighty wind and like a roaring fire, bringing godly sorrow that leads to repentance that brings salvation and leaves no regret. I pray for freedom and deliverance for the Iranian people. I pray for a good and just government to be established quickly with support from every quarter and from around the world, led by the USA and Israel.
King of the Universe, let your will be done on Iran. Free the oppressed people so they can see and join in the revival of your great Love. Amen.
