America needs to return to its roots, author Michael Wilkerson told IFA on Pray with America’s Leaders. Sharing from his book Why America Matters, Wilkerson outlined four crises the nation faces and called Americans to action.

Wilkerson was spurred to write his first book Stormwall in 2020 to identify some of the issues he saw in America. Why America Matters continues that analysis, identifying challenges, but also reminds readers of the foundational ideas upon which the nation is built. Wilkerson’s intent is “to point the way toward the future, leaving us in a place of not just despair and doom, but ‘What can we do? And how can we act in this moment in time?’”
Wilkerson disagrees with those who see nothing but gloom in America’s future. “We’re in a winter season,” Wilkerson said, “What are winters like? They’re dark. They’re cold. They’re death, like nothing appears to be growing. But you have to go through winter in order to have a springtime renewal. We’re so detached from our agricultural past, we forget this. But just like in farming, or just like in nature, we have to go through this and by the way, we’ve gone through it in our own history.” Wilkerson pointed to the Revolutionary and Civil wars as examples of America in winter.
According to Wilkerson, America faces crises of circumstances, identity, institution, and engagement. Amid a set of extraordinary events over the past several years, Americans have lost appreciation for foundational truths — in large part because of inadequate or false civics teaching. In addition, the nation has lost trust in the government, which has launched serious attacks on freedoms conferred by God and articulated in the Constitution. Sadly, this has coincided with a populace that has disengaged from active involvement in governing.
This status is not as designed, Wilkerson said. His book revisits the experiment of America, including the idea that all humans are created equal. “What happened in America was so unique, so special, that it is now a model around the world,” Wilkerson said.
The erosion of America stems in large measure from secularization, Wilkerson said. “Without God, there’s no religion. Without religion, there’s no morality. Without morality, you lose two things: Truth and trust,” Wilkerson said. “…The center no longer holds in a democracy where we have to be able to trust one another.”
“So I strongly advocate for a return to local involvement, just grassroots,” Wilkerson said. “…What’s most important is that tens of millions of Americans get off of their seats, get out from behind their screens, and…get involved.”

America, America God shed his Grace on Thee: God raised America for the same purpose, as He birthed Israel. Though America grants freedom of religion to all! America must never lose sight that Jesus Christ, Gods son and our heritage. From the days of the pilgrims and our Founding Fathers and others chose to honor God, that America would be favored by God. One of the reasons America is important is-Proverbs 14:33-34
NIV- “34 Righteousness exalts a nation,
but sin condemns any people.” The planting of the cross at Cape Henry in 1607, dedicating the land to Gods Glory was monumental. The Founding Fathers were very excited and assured America has a God given destiny. God says and describes in Matthew-5-14”You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.”AMPC- The Declaration was signed, some wept because of the placement they gave God- the Judeo- Christian God of Scripture was to be involved in leading the nation. Washington the First President established the God-Honoring statement. These men were not perfect, but they were God honoring. There was many standards of Gods influences, scriptures printed on the Liberty Bell, Schools used Gods words from the Bible. Universities used Gods words as mottos. As we pray for America ( remember we allowed God to be removed from and out of schools) God was established as our lawmaker, Creator, Judge, and Protector- We firmly relied upon Him! We need to be in faithful prayer declare and decree to bring back Gods Honor. Ask God to restore our True purpose and calling back to America and in our schools. Stand and refuse to allow lying historians, secularists, to steal Americas history and Purpose! 🇺🇸 I Decree that God will be placed back in schools, because He is and was formed for the Glory of Christ. Why America Matters? Because when anyone thing is established with The message of Christ and the messages the Students heard were not mixed up lies. God needs to be placed back in the schools, all schools. We will and can do this by cleansing! School 🏫 with God are essential. 🧎♀️🧎♀️🧎♀️🧎♀️🧎♀️🧎♀️🧎♀️
Lord God, restore our republic! Use your people and stir their hearts to go forth with your wisdom, knowledge and understanding for the good of all! May souls be saved in Jesus name. Amen!
Dear Abba Father,
This prayer is for Your children not to give up the spiritual battle You have mandated us to fight through intercession, especially using supernatural language of tongues that You have given every single born-again Christian!!!! Because many times we do not know how to pray, You have asked us especially in this season of the imminent end of the church era, that we pray in tongues, because when we do, we are praying exactly Your will for every situation. I pray that intercessors all over the world do not give up or become depressed or think negatively, because You have promised us the Blessed Hope of living with You in Your Presence for ever and ever and we have been promised to be raptured, caught up in the clouds, before the Great Tribulation. Even in the midst of all this chaos in this world, we are to be glowing with the joy of our salvation and the promise of eternal life with You. Thank You, Father, and I pray this blesses and encourages my brothers and sisters in Christ! In the mighty name of Yeshua Hamashiach, we pray this day. Amen and amen!
Father, you are doing a work in our country to bring us back to our roots in you! May it continue and grow to your glory and our good! We praise your name.
And naturally, my lefty municipal public library does not carry this book. (Sigh.) But they carry a gazillion anti-America titles.
Such a sad state of affairs. May heaven forgive us and help us.
