There is a strategy in the military going back even to the days of the Old Testament–setting a rear guard. The rear guard is critical to the protection of the mission. While the forward action is being activated, a strategic positioning of troops to watch the vulnerable back of the unit is needed to fend off an ambush or attack from the unprotected back. Scripture even talks of setting a rear guard multiple times throughout the Old Testament.
There is an application to that concept spiritually. Intercessors are busy praying for the nation, but who is covering us as we are praying for others?
Isaiah 58:8 tells us of how the glory of the Lord is our rear guard. But we can also provide that prayer covering for one another–praying protection over the vulnerabilities we have as we are focused on praying for what is in front of us.
Then your light will break forth like the dawn,
and your healing will quickly appear;
then your righteousness[a] will go before you,
and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.
9 Then you will call, and the Lord will answer;
you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.
Nearly 300 personal prayer requests from IFA intercessors were shared in response to a recent article entitled Do You Need A Miracle? It was an outpouring of needs from faithful intercessors from within the IFA community. While some received responses from other intercessors, we felt moved to call the body to action to pray over each request listed. We will be one another’s rear guard in these needs! Dear God, we know that you are the only One who can help us, our trust is in You. Please let your Holy Spirit cover the Capital Building, the hearts and minds of all the Senators and Congressmen. Be with Vice President Mike Pence; give him wisdom and courage to make the decision that your are leading him to make. Help him and all of our leaders to stand up for truth, integrity and righteousness. We come humble before you God because we know that only you can change hearts and minds and we know that you are our miracle working God. Forgive us our sins against you God, have mercy and heal our land. In Jesus we pray.
Let the light shine in the darkness & expose unrighteousness so His Light can shine!

Confirmed. The Lord spoke to me this morning to pray for this.

Father God we lift up all the Intercessors and pray for strength, wisdom and perseverance in this critical hour. We pray a firewall of protection around them and their families. We pray ministering angels tend them as they are refreshed and encouraged. Some have difficulty putting one foot in front of the other but we say you will have hinds feet in high places in Jesus name. No weapon shall stand against you. The shield is high and wide! Blood of Jesus be over America and all her Intercessors. Amen
Love how Holy Spirit sends a word to many hearts! ! When praying over the names in the state of Georgia yesterday, Out of nowhere I started declaring that their vote would count, no fear, I know who goes before you, I know who stands behind! You are protected!

Lord God Almighty – guard your intercessors and the people who are working to bring forth the truth. The enemy is trying to suppress the truth and cause confusion. Let Your mighty hand Lord swat our enemies back and let Your beautiful and penetrating light shine forth. We declare that no weapon, no deterrent, no distractions or diversions will prosper against You Lord or Your people. Let the truth in our nation burst forth like a raging river that has been purified by the work of Your holy hand. In your name we pray. Amen
