I Prayed have prayed
Lord, please forgive our leaders for releasing curses over Your people and this nation. These words of sickness and death do not align with Your words.

In the month of December 2021, I was in the hospital with a family member. I saw the White House had released an official statement on the new omicron variant.

We are intent on not letting omicron disrupt work and school for the vaccinated. You’ve done the right thing and we will get through this.

For the unvaccinated, you’re looking at a winter of severe illness and death for yourselves, your families, and the hospitals you may soon overwhelm.”

Wasn’t that shocking to read? The White House released a word curse over this nation, namely over the unvaccinated and their families.

The Bible lists several different types of curses–generational, curses from disobedience, witchcraft curses. This article focuses on word curses.

A curse is as a solemn utterance intended to invoke a supernatural power to inflict harm or punishment on someone or something. It is the exact opposite of a blessing. When we pray in Jesus’ name, we invoke the name of the Lord to bless, to heal, to save an individual through the power of his Holy Spirit.

Why your words matter so much

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life]. (Prv 18:21 Ampc)

The words that we speak matter. The scripture actually says that we eat the fruit of the words we speak. When we partner with and then repeat gloom and doom, slanderous, malicious, or fear-mongering words we come into agreement with the lies of the devil. Remember, he hates us and everything we stand for, because of Who we belong to.

Our words are and should be weighty. We have been given the authority and privilege to pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and share his message with the world. We are his representatives here on earth. We are also his priesthood.

In the Old Testament, priests had many roles, but one important role was to bless the people. For example, Melchizedek blessed Abraham (Gen 14:17-20). Moses, Aaron, and their sons prayed the priestly blessing over the Israelites (Num. 6:22-27). Eli the priest blessed Hannah and Elkanah (1 Sam. 1:9-11 & 1 Sam. 2:20).

In the New Testament, Jesus Christ offered Himself, the perfect sacrifice once and for all, nullifying the need for priests to offer sacrifices. Jesus ascended to the right hand of God where He is the Great High Priest/Intercessor.

Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess (Heb. 4:14).

He is able to save forever those who draw near to God through him, because he always lives to make intercession for them (Heb 7:25).

Does this mean Jesus doesn’t need intercessors? Of course not. We co-labor with Jesus while we pray. Although the sacrificial role of the priesthood is over, the priestly role of intercession continues to all who will accept the call to a lifetime of prayer.

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. (1 Pt. 2:9)

Derek Prince has a great resource called Blessing or Curse, You Can Choose (Call IFA if you would like a copy for a donation of any amount–1-800-USA-PRAY). He shared three steps for freedom if you have agreed with a bad confession like death, sickness, disease, poverty. Agreement with a bad confession becomes a self-imposed curse. Remember, “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us” (Gal. 3:13).

I believe this administration released that statement in hopes to use fear to manipulate the unvaccinated.  I do not believe they intentionally released a word curse, but unfortunately they did. How should we Intercessors respond to this?

1.Repent

Predicting a winter of severe illness and death for our families does not align with God’s word. Let’s come before God in prayer, acknowledging this lie and that all lies originate from the devil. (Jn. 8:44)

2.Revoke

Next we must cancel the wrong confession (words of sickness and death released over people and their families). Verbally break any agreement you may have made with this statement in fear.

3.Replace

Lastly, replace the wrong confession with the right one. We know according to the word in John 10:10 that the thief (Satan) comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Jesus said, “I have come that they might have abundant life.”  Intercessors often pray the opposite of what the world is doing, so this should be familiar to you.

Let’s use these three steps to pray regarding the omicron statement.

Lord, please forgive our leaders for releasing curses over Your people and this nation. These words of sickness and death do not align with your words. Our adversary is the one who steals, kills, and destroys. Jesus Christ came to give abundant life. We repent for allowing the media to manipulate and divide us using fear. Forgive us if we have partnered with fear and lies and spoken curses over ourselves.

We break every word curse concerning the virus spoken over us and our families. We plead the blood of Jesus; in doing so we are remembering His victory over death that happened at the cross. It is written that He came and destroyed the works of the devil. We render every word curse spoken fruitless. The words that will never return void come only Your Word. We cling to Your Word with hope and expectancy.

We reject words of sickness, death, and hospital visits over us and our families. We pray that lives and bodies would be healed from the effects of Covid. We pray for life and the abundant life You long for us to live.  We thank You that Your blood speaks a better word, under a better covenant established on better promises. (Heb. 8:6)

You said that if we stay under the shadow of the Almighty, You will be our refuge and place of safety. You said You will rescue us from every trap and deadly disease. (Ps. 91) We trust You Lord. Your words are truth and a lamp to our feet in times of darkness.

Praying Like Jesus Did

Jesus spent much time teaching his disciples about prayer. He taught his disciples to bless those who cursed and hurt them.

Invoke blessings upon and pray for the happiness of those who curse you, implore God’s blessing (favor) upon those who abuse you [who revile, reproach, disparage, and high-handedly misuse you]. (Lk. 6:28 Ampc)

He goes on to say that when we bless those who curse and hate us, we are truly acting as children of God. (Lk. 6:35,36) The power of this blessing is greater than any curse. Paul emphasized this with the Roman church.

Bless those who persecute you [who are cruel in their attitude toward you]; bless and do not curse them. (Rom. 12:14 Amp)

Repay no one evil for evil, but take thought for what is honest and proper and noble [aiming to be above reproach] in the sight of everyone. (Rom. 12:17 Amp)

Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave the way open for [God’s] wrath; for it is written, Vengeance is Mine, I will repay (requite), says the Lord.

But if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals upon his head. Do not let yourself be overcome by evil, but overcome (master) evil with good. (Rom. 12:19-21 Ampc)

We are called to bless those who curse us. We are called to pray for those who persecute us. We are called to love our enemies, the same way Christ loved us when we were once enemies of the cross.

I must confess, last year was difficult. We saw so many drastic ungodly changes in this nation. Now, it’s a new year. Let’s pray for this administration once more. They don’t need curses. They don’t need memes. They need Jesus Christ, plain and simple.

Lord,

A whole year has gone by under this administration. Forgive me for missed opportunities to pray for them as I should have. Forgive me when I spoke unintentional curses over the leaders of this nation in frustration, anger, and despair. Even now asking You to bless this administration seems impossible, until I am reminded that you are the Lord God of all flesh and nothing is too hard for you.

Lord, please bless the President, Vice President, and administration. You said to bless our enemies. They are not our enemies, Lord, but because we choose to stand for our freedoms and refuse to bow they consider us enemies. They choose to use fear to manipulate and divide us. They have released word curses over the people. We will not repay their evil with more evil. Instead we pray that You would bless them and their families with the greatest gift any man, woman, or child can receive. That gift is Jesus Christ.

Give them dreams and visions of your precious son Jesus Christ that would awaken them to their need for salvation. Bless them with God-fearing counsel while they are in office. You sent Joseph into Egypt under Pharaoh to preserve Your people. You sent Daniel to Babylon under Nebuchadnezzar and three other kings. Send Esthers, Daniels, Josephs, and people that You prepared for this moment and release them into the government sphere of influence. Send Your men and women of God to bring them the word of the Lord.

Give me Your grace to bless those who curse and hurt me. Give me Your heart to love those who hate and revile me because that is Your will for my life. Thank You for even using something like this to make me more like Jesus Christ. Give me clean hands and a pure heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

To conclude: you must all have the same attitude and the same feelings; love one another, and be kind and humble with one another. Do not pay back evil with evil or cursing with cursing; instead, pay back with a blessing, because a blessing is what God promised to give you when he called you.  As the scripture says,

“If you want to enjoy life and wish to see good times, you must keep from speaking evil  and stop telling lies. You must turn away from evil and do good; you must strive for peace with all your heart.  For the Lord watches over the righteous and listens to their prayers; but he opposes those who do evil.” (1 Pt. 3:8-12 GNT)

This was an excellent and well-needed teaching. It’s tragic that churches are not teaching these basic principles that are imperative to leading a victorious Christian life. People are unknowingly speaking curses on themselves and others, creating unnecessary heartache, suffering, and possibly even death. Thank you for your article.

I pray in Jesus name their hearts of stone be turned to flesh in humility and repentance and in submission to their Creator and blessed Redeemer . Save them Father God , draw them to their only Hope the LORD JESUS CHRIST . In His mighty and powerful name I pray , Amen

i agree with the article kn many points, but let’s s go back to ancient days when Balak paid Baalam to curse Israel. What happened? God wound up blessing Israel instead! But let us also remember that when Baalam saw that God blessed Israel instead of allowing them to be cursed, Baalam also knew a sure way to get Israel to fall under a curse was to entice them to sin. In that story it was fornication, but if you look at it spiritually, (Jesus spoke in parables, remember? So we need to discern the symbolism of the bible) Paul did, he calls worldly believers “adulterers” against God, (God Himself calls them adulterers speaking through the Old Testament prophets) the difference between fornicators and adulrerers is a marriage covenant. Not all believers have entered into a true “covenant” with God (like unto a marriage agreement, submittimg to his will and giving him full authority over their lives (although he already has authority over everyone anyway, He is waiting for us to give it to Him willingly in love, such as a bride submits herself to her husband in a mutual marriage covenant)–therefore believers who havent actually ever submitted their lives fully to Christ are fornicators with sin, whereas those who have entered into a mutual covenant with God are the adulterers.

Secondly, for the TRUE Israel, the obedient, those in true mutual covenant, the bible says this:

Numbers 23:23
There is no divination (curse!) against Jacob, no evil omens against Israel. It will now be said of Jacob and of Israel, ‘See what God has done!’

Further: Proverbs 26:2
Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow, an undeserved curse will not land on its intended victim.

If you have made your calling and electiin sure and have submitted to the Lordship of Christ (the WORD,).uou have no reason to fear a curse.

if you are living in compromise you need to repent and ask the Lord to protect you and revive you spiritually so that the word can cover you. Obedience and faith are part of our covenant obligation, but fear not because the bible says God will work in you to will and do his will, but you must ask Him to and cooperate. That my friends is a COVENANT. we have a part in it, it isnt just osmosis, we need to maintain an active role here, we are admonished to stay sober and vigilant. That doesnt mean not drink alcohol it means symbolically not getting drunk on sin and worldliness..

Know your covenant rights but to avail of them you need to be upholding your part of the covenant.

Jesus redeems us from the CURSE of the Law, not the law itself. Faiyh without works is dead.

we need not return a curse with a curse because God already has us covwred with His word/his blessing. in additiin to the other great verses i shared i just remembered this one:

    Jetemiah 30:16
Therefore all they that devour thee shall be devoured; and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; and they that spoil thee shall be a spoil, and all that prey upon thee will I give for a prey.

Bless Biden and all our enemies and definitely put these verses in your arsenal

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law…Galatians 3:13. So if you belong to Christ, not even a word curse from Biden can do you harm. So, though I am unvaccinated with this abortion provided shot, I will rest in Christ, who has redeemed me from ALL of the curse!

Gloria, thank you so much for letting God’s grace shine into you and out to us! I was especially convicted by your confession of missed opportunities to pray for our leaders. I am there, as well. I often laugh at such curses as you referenced, but although that may be resisting the devil so he will flee, it doesn’t loose that curse. Rather, it binds on earth and in heaven my own sinful pride and bitter self righteousness.

When I read “whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven,” I think of the times I have hung onto (bound on earth) bitterness over expressions of “gloom and doom, slander, malice, or fear mongering” instead of loosing that bitterness on earth, overcoming it with forgiveness and love for the speakers, and loosing on earth a blessing for them, so that our heavenly Father might in turn loose HIS blessing on them!

Our Lord Jesus, who is our peace, has torn down that dividing wall of hostility. Dear Lord, please forgive us for raising it again! Please grant us repentance, and teach us to loose on earth Your merciful grace and forgiveness, and to love our neighbors – some of whom are our elected officials, who don’t yet know of Your steadfast love – and to show them Who love really is! May Your kingdom thus come on earth, as it is in heaven. Blessed be Your Holy Name!

The Supreme Court of our land is considering several key appeals in the coming days, while the Jan 6th Unselect committee continue their travesty of justice. The Scriptures are clear:
“For NOTHING is secret that shall not be made manifest, neither anything hid that shall not be know and come abroad.” Luke 8:17

Please pray through and share Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò’s profound anointed letter to America that I have posted in its entirety on my blog:

We plead the Blood of our LORD Jesus Christ, and ask for Your Holy Spirit to bring the Fear of the LORD upon the wicked… and reverse the curse upon us… ALL for Your Glory ALONE! In Jesus’Name, AMEN!

Problem is, when Satan’s followers pronounce curses against Spirit-filled Bible believing Christians, those curses bounce back onto the person(s) pronouncing them. It’s called the Law of Spiritual Return, and those who regularly employ curses for spiritual power and personal control know this quite well, as do those of us in deliverance ministries or who are called to fight in the frontlines against the Enemy. We can determine we are never going to be a part of cursing anyone, no matter how dastardly they act, we can even pray for their blessing (Matt 5:43-47), but when they pronounce curses on us, they step into a dangerous place. I do not believe their pronouncements will ultimately fall back on their own heads. Heaven help them.

This reminder is even more relevant today as those in positions of authority want to dissemble about events at the Capitol on this day one year ago.
It would be more satisfying to ask for fire and brimstone but recall Jesus’ rebuke: you don’t know what you’re asking.
We ask for forgiveness and guidance for ourselves as we confront the “dailies”. Remembering those still unjustly held in prisons…

The Biblical principles in this article will help “guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” Thank you, Gloria, for these ever-important reminders of how to be like Jesus!

I first heard the White House’s statement in a post from Sean Feucht. Sean posted a prayer similar to the beginning of this prayer about the word curses that were used against the unvaccinated and their families. That would be me. I prayed his prayer along with him and immediately denounced the words that were delivered. I shall not fear their words or any others that come at me. And, thanks to this article, I have a great model prayer that I will use to pray blessings for our country, leaders, family members and others that want to continue to divide this nation.

We bind and break this word curse on this nation in the name of Jesus. Lord bless everyone in this nation with health, prosperity, joy, peace that passes all understanding and freedom from oppression and freedom from an ungodly government. You Lord are our government, you are our healing touch, mind, body and soul. We bind ALL lies and word curses and fear over this nation, the USA and we loose heaven on earth, righteousness, justice , peace. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and soul and love your neighbor as yourself. Thank you Lord for eradicating all viruses and sicknesses. and creating Godly governments in every state in the USA and around the world. We pray for salvation of the unsaved, drop the gospel seeds over them and may they sprout, and the roots go deep and they have a change of mind and repent of their evil wicked ways and accept you as their Lord and Savior and you change their hearts. Amen

This was on my heart to pray about today…particularly about repenting for not praying for the administration like we are called to do for our leaders & those who “persecute us”…then I saw the intercession email and this article. Spot on… Amen. We need to walk in the finished work of Christ and pray as he taught us and told us to. We need to fear Him & not man or circumstances. “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.” Proverbs 9:10; “The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe. “ Proverbs 29:25; “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.” 2Tim1:7. There have been many things to make us fearful, yet the fear of those things AND NOT the Lord hinders our prayers. At least it has for me. ❤️

I am reminded that You are in full control and that You will be and are our standard against the schemes of the wicked one.
Isaiah 59:19
So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.
I bless our government and every authority involved in our nation in the mighty Name of Jesus. I ask Father that their hearts would be led and ruled by the fear of the Lord which is the beginning of wisdom and that the laws they make would be righteous laws in Your eyes. Put it within their hearts to protect the people in our nation from unconstitutional laws that remove our freedoms. You oh Lord are able to do exceedingly abundantly more than we can ever hope or imagine. We praise Your Name! We thank you for Your powerful, life giving Word. May it go forth from Your mouth and bring healing and deliver from destruction.(Psalm 107:20)
In Jesus mighty Name we ask all of these things with thanksgiving

I didn’t believe the statement, but I also never thought about it being a word curse. Thank you for the reminder that we reap what we sow and the call to bless our enemies and pray for their salvation. I did do that at the beginning but have forgotten to continue praying for them over time. This article was a great reminder for all areas of my life!!!

Thank you for clarity on this. It is hard for me to pray in a kindly way for those who hate us, but you are exactly right! Those in power in our country, those who would punish us who freely choose not to get vaxxed should be prayed for. I agree with your statements and ask Jesus’ to give me a heart like His. Amen

Thank you for reminding us once again, Precious Three in One, thru Your faithful servant Gloria that these misled, decieved, bound, lost souls are not our enemies. The principalities, powers, rulers of darkness in this world , and in spiritual high places are our real enemy. Thank you for giving us the privilege of blessing not cursing our leadership, standing the gap for them with Jesus in His throne room until they come to the saving knowledge of Jesus, until they confess with their mouths,Jesus is Lord and believe God rose Jesus from the dead so He could reconcile them to God, themselves, and others, heal them wherever they hurt, deliver them from the kingdom of darkness into the God’s kingdom of light, Your perfect love that casts out all fear, and You free them forever and redeem them from the curse of the law, poverty, sin, sickness, fear, guilt, shame, condemnation, death, Hell, and the grave. Teach us , as we humble ourselves before You, daily , and empower us, Holy Spirit to love, forgive, pray for, bless them the same way You do us. We ask these things in Jesus’name so He will be honored and glorified here on Earth. Amen.

After hearing the statement made by the president, I immediately prayed cancelling every curse word spoken over the nation, and declared it null and void over me and my family in Jesus’ name.

Because Obama and Hillary Clinton have been followers of Saul Alinsky, a professed disciple of Lucifer, we know that this has been for awhile a defined spiritual battle for the souls of our nation., As of late because of IFA and other prayer groups, I have looked at the leaders more as lost souls – normal everyday people who are deceived by power of darkness while we are under the authority of another kingdom led by King Jesus. I need to remember that my anger does not achieve the righteousness of God but instead the fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Thank you for this reminder. Though it is maddening that Biden would blame and curse the unvaccinated , it is obviously a diversion from knowing he failed to stop Covid as he promised. So typical fallen human nature is to pass blame. Good lesson for all of us not to blame our lives on a failed government either. Jesus has already won the victory over sin and death. He desires all to be saved. Amen.

The article referencing word curses is a powerful reminder to me that my words matter. I find myself reacting to the news more times than not. This results in fleshly responses. Holy Spirit is teaching me to wait on His guidance on how to effectively pray prayers that will hit the mark.

the current administration is being led by the Devil, we must stand for Jesus and be active in taking a biblical stand to put people in office who are believers, they are our enemies and we cannot pray for the Devil

Father, I repent for failing to pray for these people who are pretending to be leaders but who are not. I have forgotten that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood. While they seek to call us dangerous and are enemies of the Gospel, they are human and not beyond your grace. Make us dangerous indeed in spiritual warfare, for the casting down of strongholds that keep these people from the truth. I pray for light and life to shine on them so that they may truly know You. Forgive them, Lord, and forgive me for not speaking and walking in Your light as You desire. I pray for Your victory and praise Your power to do so.

The first time I heard him say it, I knew it was a curse. I also feel convicted. I have prayed for them halfheartedly. I must increase my devotion and love them like Jesus loves them. Thanks for the prayer. I’m going to use this.

Praise God for these wonderful articles and newly elected godly governmental figures. We must add prayer for the safety of our wonderful President #45 whom God has called to the task of saving and restoring this nation!!! His name has been cursed and he has been verbally threatened with bodily harm!
