I Prayed have prayed
Lord, we pray for Brent Larsen and Sen. Shane Jett's safety as they travel to Canada this first week of October, 2026, to film, participate, ask questions, and expose the Canadian government's attempt to swipe away their people's freedoms. Open the eyes of Americans and Canadians to what is going on in Canada, and use Larsen and Sen. Shane to help bring accountability to Canada and encourage people to fight for their freedoms and God-given rights. Amen.

What does it look like when believers in a neighboring nation feel their freedoms slipping away, and what should American intercessors do about it? That is the question at the heart of a new interview hosted by IFA’s Kris Kubal, featuring filmmaker Brent Larsen and Oklahoma State Sen. Shane Jett — and it is one of the more urgent conversations IFA has released in recent months.

The interview centers on a documentary project tied to a live event in Ottawa, “Are Canadian Christians Safe?,” and the story it tells is closer to home than most Americans realize. Canada has become a proving ground for the kinds of policies and pressures that religious liberty advocates in the United States have been warning about for years: restrictions on speech, government oversight of faith communities, and a cultural climate that increasingly treats Christian conviction as a public problem rather than a protected right.

Sen. Jett brings a lawmaker’s perspective to the conversation, offering a candid assessment of what is happening north of the border and what it signals for the trajectory of faith and freedom in North America. Larsen, whose documentary work has taken him inside some of these stories firsthand, adds the on-the-ground texture that statistics and headlines rarely capture.

What emerges from the conversation is not panic but purpose. The three discuss what meaningful intercession looks like when the challenge is not a single policy fight but a broader cultural shift, and they talk honestly about what the American church can learn from watching Canada navigate territory it has not yet fully entered.

If you pray for Canada, for religious liberty, or for the future of Christian witness in the West, this interview will give you both context and direction. Watch the full conversation here!
