What to Expect From Trump’s Asia Tour Next Week
Next week, President Trump will visit several countries in Asia to discuss trade deals, secure investments, and even speak with Chinese President Xi Jinping. But what exactly can we expect from this trip?
Let the IFA community know how to pray for you.
From The Epoch Times:
President Donald Trump recently confirmed several stops on his upcoming Asia tour, where he is expected to hash out trade deals, talk investments, and speak with Chinese Communist Party leader Xi Jinping days before a potential 100 percent tariff on Chinese goods goes into effect.
While Trump has hosted several Asian heads of state in Washington already, this is his first trip to the region in his second term.
He announced stops in Malaysia, Japan, and South Korea, adding that there will be “a couple of others” on the tour and that he has accepted an invitation to visit China early next year.
The Times notes that Malaysia will be hosting the Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit from October 26-28. President Trump is expected to attend the first day of the summit. Malaysian officials said he is “looking forward” to signing a ceasefire deal between Thailand and Cambodia.
Other powerful nations like China, Japan, Russia, India, and Italy are also expected to attend the summit.
Next, President Trump is scheduled to travel to Japan for a three-day visit on October 7. This follows Japan’s recent election of Sanae Takaichi on October 21 as Prime Minister. Takaichi said she plans to strengthen the ties between America and Japan, calling the relationship between the two “the cornerstone of Japan’s foreign and security policy” according to the Times.
President Trump and Prime Minister Takaichi plan to tour a U.S. Navy base and speak with military personnel. The Times notes this visit will come amid increased Chinese military activity in the area.
The President is expected to visit South Korea from October 29-30, just before the nation hosts the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) from October 31-November 1. It is here that President Trump is expecting to meet with Xi Jinping, a meeting that the Times notes could “have ripple effects on APEC member nations.”
As President Trump visits these nations and talks with foreign leaders, let’s pray that he protects America’s interests and honors God!

As a missionary in Japan, this is of extreme interest to me. You have a typo above, saying Trump will be in Japan on the 7th, when it will be the 27th. I already knew about it, but that might confuse some people.
