Some 25 years ago, I resigned from teaching at a Christian school in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to start an organization dedicated to helping intercessors pray for education in America. I began by organizing teams of intercessors to pray on-site at local schools. I spoke at churches, encouraging the believers to pray. I brought in special speakers and organized citywide prayer events for education in my city. All that effort and hard work seemed to reap but minimal results.

My joining with IFA, however, gave that old vision a whole new life. IFA’s ability to inform thousands of intercessors about the prayer needs of our nation and to enable them to pray in agreement gave me renewed hope for the reformation of education in America. In 2019, I began my writing journey with IFA. Today, as I reflect on 2023, I thank God for IFA, and I’m grateful He has allowed me to research and present my findings to intercessors so they can jointly pray for the education of the youth of this nation.

Whenever I find a news topic that intrigues me, that makes me want to dive deep into researching why it’s an issue in education. It also makes me seek ways to help intercessors understand not only the history of the issue, but also why that issue is essential to education. Most important, I want intercessors to know how to pray for the restoration of education in America. When I wrote two articles on the Chinese Communist Party’s infiltration into America’s(!) schools, I wondered whether intercessors truly realize the extent of the CCP’s intrusion into our school systems. In some cases, the CCP has purchased entire American school systems! To make intercessors aware, I wrote two articles this year about that issue: The CCP Funds Confucius Classrooms Across US and Chinese Communists Infiltrate American Schools. Over 3,500 IFA intercessors then prayed for our schools to be free of CCP influence! You prayed! And because you did, we can look forward to a victory for children in our public schools.

Although I testified at the UN for many years on children’s issues, I knew very little about the evil the UN perpetrated on the children through its education materials. As I began researching these UN education activities, I knew I had to share my discoveries with faithful intercessors who would be sure to pray. So this year, I wrote two articles for IFA intercessors concerning the UN’s evil intent: Another Evil Attempt to Hijack Education and The UN’s Radical Plan to Further Transform American Education. Praise God, almost 3,000 IFA intercessors prayed about that!

Earlier this year, I recounted in my article titled The Prayer that Rocked the State an experience of my dear friend E’Lena Ashley. As a newly elected school board member, E’Lena spoke at a local high school commencement. She then prayed over the students and ended her prayer, “in the name of Jesus.” E’Lena consequently had to endure threats from fellow board members, was heckled at board meetings, and even faced the anger of some parents. Today, E’Lena is doing well, however, and making a difference in her school district.

Throughout 2023, I had the privilege of writing articles that addressed what I felt was God’s heart for education, enabling thousands to pray informed prayers. For that, I am grateful. Today I thank God that IFA can reach so many praying people, something not even remotely possible 25 years ago, when I started this journey. I know that by praying in agreement, we can see education in America change for the better.
