Conflict between America and Iran continued into the new week. The Supreme Leader may have been defeated, but his allies are ready to name a replacement, and the fighting seems to have only just begun.

Post a prayer for your state!

Yesterday, President Trump outlined four key objectives in the fight against Iran. According to The Epoch Times, “He said U.S. forces are attempting to destroy Tehran’s missile capability, annihilate its navy, prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, and ensure that ‘the Iranian regime cannot continue to arm, fund, and direct terrorist armies outside of their borders.'”

With over 1,250 targets struck in the first 48 hours, the U.S. is well on its way to achieving those objectives. However, the fighting will likely continue for some time. President Trump said that the military operation is expected to last four to five weeks, although he did clarify that the operation is progressing ahead of schedule.

As the conflict continues, it is important to note that Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has reportedly not ruled out “boots on the ground” in Iran. In contrast, Secretary of State Marco Rubio claimed that the President’s objectives can be achieved without boots on the ground, though he did admit that “the President has those options.” Meanwhile, the U.S. death total in the conflict has risen to six as of Monday evening.

As for Iran, the U.S. is not currently engaged in diplomatic talks with nation, according to Secretary Rubio. The regime was quick to respond to the United States’ strikes, however. The Islamic nation has shot down 20 drones and fired missiles and drones at Israel and other nations hosting U.S. forces, many of which have been intercepted. Iran has also shut down the Strait of Hormuz, a critical gas route, driving up the price of oil.

It is clear that there is more to come. President Trump said in an interview with CNN that “we haven’t even started hitting them hard.” Meanwhile, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine has said that military leadership expects more American loss of life before the conflict is over. With all this in mind, it’s clear we need to pray.

How Should We Pray?

As you pray about this conflict, we encourage you to download our new resource “The Shifting Sands in Iran.” This special report will provide you with names, faces, info, and prayer points. Additionally, as conflict continues in the Middle East, please continue to pray for Israel. We have launched a new 21-day devotional for the Jewish state, and we host prayer calls for Israel every Monday night.

You can also pray using the prayer points below.

  • Pray for wisdom for our leaders. Pray they would seek the Lord for guide as the fighting continues.
  • Pray for protection for our soldiers. Ask God to keep all those fighting against Iran in the Middle East safe.
  • Pray against domestic terrorism. Our country is unfortunately home to many extremists who are sympathetic toward Iran and Islam. Pray that they would not attack us.
  • Pray for Israel. Iran, like many nations and groups in the Middle East, has devoted itself to the destruction of Israel. Pray for the protection of God’s chosen people and nation at this time.
