Wake Up, Parents: American Library Association Is (Still) Grooming Our Kids
Imagine if your 15-year-old came to my house, and I gave them a book about edgy sex positions? What if I gave your 16-year-old a book with graphic illustrations of oral or anal sex?
Would you be happy with that? Or would you be mighty suspicious of me?
Post a prayer for your state!
Many parents may not know it, but there is an ongoing fight over certain books and whether they should be given to minors without their parentsā knowledge or consent. Thatās what the American Library Association wants. The ALA recently launched a nationwide campaign against so-called ābook bans,ā with ALA President Sam Helmick (they/them) saying it is about the āfreedom to read.ā
Except, the ALAās critics do not want to ābanā anything. Nor do they want to challenge the freedom to read ā I know because Iām one of them. We do, however, want people to know that the ALA wants inappropriate materials in your kidsā hands, regardless of your parental preferences.
In 2023, Sen. Mike Lee revealed a video of Deborah Caldwell-Stone, then-director of the American Library Associationās Office for Intellectual Freedom, admitting that the ALA is reframing sexually inappropriate content for minors as ādiverse materialsā focused on āinclusion.ā Caldwell-Stone said the previously quiet part out loud.
It shocked me because I always thought that ALA librarians were the āgood guys.ā After all, who ever imagined that librarians would play the part of creepy guy in a trenchcoat?
But some of societyās most trusted leaders misuse their power and prestige as cover, at the expense of our kids (think about the Catholic priest scandals). While a tiny percentage of priests are up to no good, the wrongdoers use the cover of their innocent job titles to engage in perverse conduct. In a similar vein, librarians who want to āreframeā perverse fetish instruction manuals as ādiverse educationā arenāt thinking about your kidsā best interests.
One of the books in question is āLetās Talk About It,ā which is aimed at teenagers with graphic images of how to insert butt plugs or advice on fetish pornography websites. Another is āGender Queer: A Memoir,ā which contains multiple pages of illustrations depicting oral sex. The explicit images were entered into the congressional record in 2023 for all to see (fair warning). The pictures are worth a thousand words.
I have reported on these developments at the ALA through my blog āSafeLibraries,ā exposing those who are advocating for minors to read books like āGender Queerā without parental knowledge. I have regularly posted on social media about how this exposure constitutes āgrooming,ā and I have revealed individual librarians who are intent ā with the ALAās backing ā on keeping these books available to kids.
One such librarian is Amanda Jones, who has publicly supported āGender Queerā and āLetās Talk About Itā as suitable for kids. Those who dare to question āGender Queer,ā are in her words, ātargeting LGBTQ and other marginalized communities.ā Now, Jones has sued me in federal court for defamation and false light for calling that āgrooming.ā (I have filed an anti-SLAPP motion to dismiss the case with the help of veteran First Amendment lawyer Marc Randazza, and it is currently pending.) I stand by that opinion.
Letās be very clear: This is not a partisan issue. So-called ābook bansā are abhorrent, and even sexually explicit books like āGender Queerā have a place on Amazon.com or at Barnes & Noble. However, that place is not somewhere kids have unfettered access.
None of us ā Democrat or Republican ā grew up in a world with images of blowjobs or butt plugs on the shelves. Is it ābanning booksā if the public library doesnāt stock Marquis De Sade? Is it ācensorshipā when sexual content can be found everywhere but the kidsā section?
For the ALA and individual librarians to recommend books about āmarginalized communities,ā that is one thing. As they grow older, kids should learn about differences in race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. But a 14-year-old should never be encouraged by their local librarian to read about oral or anal sex ā full stop.
This is not normal. Even left-wing friends of mine have been repulsed after skimming āGender Queer,ā especially at a time when U.S. literacy is plummeting (according to even leftist librarians). Nevertheless, the ALA has joined forces with Hollywood to celebrate Amanda Jones in a new documentary called āThe Librarians,ā ironically produced by āSex and the Cityā actress Sarah Jessica Parker.
I have been called a āNaziā and a āfascistā for taking this stance, which is shared by parents on both sides of the political aisle. But the ALA wonāt silence us, and it is time for all parents to speak out against child grooming ā especially in our libraries.

Once again, Lord, we need Your help for the protection of children. Help parents and all caring adults to be watchful and prayerful and bold, to call out the predators coming in all shapes and sizes and settings.
Help us fight the evil of sexual immorality in all forms, for the children’s sake and society.
People who target kids with sexually explicit material will be held accountable! The Bible says that it would have been better if they had not been born than to stumble a young child. Thank you to everyone who is trying to keep kids innocent of the “groomers” and their grooming materials. Father God, please protect the children and keep this diablolical material out of their hands. In Yeshua’s name, Amen.
This issue is across the country, even in red states. We live in the Bible belt and had to stop using the library because they were continually adding LGBTQ books. I petitioned the library board to either creat sections or labels so parents/ patrons could be aware of content. The board was agreeable but library staff was not.
How do I get involved in this fight?
Dear Heavenly Father, I pray that public libraries will be held accountable for their explicit agenda to groom and brainwash children.
I can’t enjoy libraries anymore, not only because the children’s sections are filled with propoganda, every other section is as well.
In addition, libraries and their adjacent public spaces are now used as daycare centers for unhoused individuals, some of whom are sex offenders and child predators, looking for opportunitutis to victimize vulnerable individuals. I know of cases where young people were victimized at libraries.
Lord, I ask that you would take funding away from public libraries which censor godly materials while pushing the LGBTQ agenda, and which allow minors to check out sexually explicit materials. Please make libraries safe again.
In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
Lord please protect our children, they are being attacked on every level. Put you angels around each one and expose all who would harm them in any way and may justice prevail. In Jesus name we pray
