I Prayed have prayed
Father we are grateful to be used by You in these times. We pray for the church in Ukraine--that they would provide love and help with food, and hope redemption through the Gospel. May You be glorified even in this horrible situation, Lord!

Your generosity to provide meals to Ukrainian families impacted by the Ukraine war has been overwhelming and humbling. We are happy to report that this food is now being distributed to families in crisis areas of Ukraine even as you read this article. There is a wide range of conditions in the country of Ukraine at the moment. Many cities experiencing shelling and fighting are now facing shortages of food, fuel, medical supplies and resources–these meals provide relief for families who have been going without.  Other Ukrainian cities that are not in the line of fire are experiencing mass migration of refugees and the donated meals helps churches minister to those hurting families passing through. Your gifts to the Ukraine Meals project are helping to reach both groups!

Minivans deliver food as part of the Ukraine Meals project.
Instead of trucks, meals have to be delivered by passenger vehicles so as not to be a target for Russian strikes.

Because large vehicles—busses and trucks—are often targeted by the Russian military, food is being distributed by minivans. Many vehicles are tied up being used to shuttle refugees and the rough conditions are taking a toll on vehicles. Intercessors for Ukraine purchased a minivan for the purpose of making deliveries non-stop in addition to the other vehicles at their intermittent disposal. Here is a picture of a loaded minivan making a distribution run with food from the Ukraine Meals project. A combination of available fresh food combined with pre-packaged meals with a long shelf-life, will help provide immediate relief and help restock family and church food pantries.

In Dnipro, Intercessors for Ukraine Pastor Maxim has set up their church to be a place of refuge for those fleeing from the south and east. In addition to providing meals, they also minister to those passing through with love, prayer, and the Gospel message. The food that you are providing gives them a platform to be able to not only tend to people’s physical needs, but also their spiritual needs as well.  Pictured is a meal time with families passing through their church’s refuge ministry.

Families are ministered to with meals, prayer, love, and the Gospel as they stop into these “cities of refuge” at churches, like this one in Dnipro.

Providing meals to refugees passing through is a tangible way to share the love of Christ with Ukrainian families impacted by the war.

Food will continue to be distributed—a mix of boxed food and fresh food (fresh food is purchased from sources in Poland and other countries)—all part of the Ukraine Meals project that many of you contributed to so generously. Continue to pray for the distribution. They are doing their best to fan out the food to as many cities and congregations as possible. You can also pray for the evangelistic facet of this outreach. We got a message yesterday from the leader of Intercessors for Ukraine–and this message really is for YOU: Thanks to IFA, we bought the first minibus and are already delivering humanitarian aid to people who need help so much.

God is using the body of Christ here and in Ukraine to meet the needs of people and to share the Gospel. We can’t think of a more beautiful example of the love and hope of Christ.

Father God,
In the name of Jesus I pray that You will multiply the boxes of food like You did when Jesus fed thousands of people with only 5 fish and two loaves of bread. I pray that the supply will not run out, but will be more than enough.
I praise You, the Creator and Redeemer, for Your generosity, Your kindness, and Your power. Cause everyone, both believers and unbelievers, to recognize Who You are and what You are doing.
Amen.

Thank You, Father for bringing this to our attention through IFA. May many hearts be stirred to respond as Holy Spirit directs so that Your love will be made known and it will be seen that the Kingdom of God is at hand. May all enter in, set free from the kingdoms of this world.

Most Holy and Mighty God, King of the universe, we thank You for Your showered mercies upon the Ukrainian people. Thank You for the work IFU is doing in Ukraine. Thank You that You connected us to them. Thank You for this networking of ministry. As meals are distributed for hungry stomachs, may the gospel fill hungry souls. All glory to You, Most High God. Amen.
