Turning Point Conference Draws Thousands of Young Adults
On Friday, July 11th, through Sunday, July 13th, Turning Point USA hosted a conference in Florida that drew 7,000 attendees. IFA Florida was able to be a part of something very special thanks to its connection with TPUSA. Seventeen intercessors from the Florida State Prayer Group came out beforehand to pray onsite at the location where the conference was held. They also prayed for the attendees and speakers. “Because they saturated the grounds with intercessory prayer, they prepared the way for what turned out to be a powerful move of God,” said Anita Lynott, Florida’s State Prayer Leader.

Turning Point often draws a lot of hostility from younger generations who oppose its outspoken approach towards truth and biblical values. There was opposition against this event; however, the hunger for God among young adults prevailed. They were able to make connections with other like-minded believers who prioritize righteousness and authenticity. Anita also shared her belief that these young people left knowing that TPUSA is a community that helps them make a positive impact and effect change in society.
She said, “Despite some minor opposition from those standing against the event, we witnessed God’s overwhelming presence and protection throughout. We believe these prayers truly made a difference in ushering in a spirit of peace, unity, and purpose. Approximately 7,000 people attended — the majority of them young adults. It was truly inspiring to see so many from the next generation passionately pursuing God’s plan for their lives, choosing His truth over the noise of the world.”
Angel Sinette, a member of the Florida Prayer Team, shared her observations. “Had I understood the heavy political essence of the conference, I probably wouldn’t have gone. I am tired of all the political craziness. But God…as always, I am so glad I listened,” she said.
There are many stereotypes about Gen Z, and they are usually negative or derogatory. “I did not see that. I saw 7,000, most of whom were kids, putting their phones down. They were focused, listening, and seeking. On Sunday morning, I sat with around 5,000 of them, worshipping with their hands held high and their hearts open. What a blessing for me to witness,” she said.
After the conference, Angel watched TPUSA interviews, did research, and sought the Lord. She felt that repentance was needed and shared prayer points that the Lord had revealed. Here is how you can pray in younger generations.
“Technology quickly changed the world, and parents did not navigate those changes WITH their children. Some working households were so stressed that they did not prioritize family, and many lacked the firm faith to help them in the ways they needed.”
In this sense, they were neglected by their parents and discipled by technology. “We must repent on behalf of the prior generations for their lack of understanding,” Angel said.
Anita also shared a similar sentiment. “We must repent for not helping this young generation become what God created them to be. The generations before them have done a poor job of showing Jesus to others.”
- Pray for churches and ministries to boldly stand for truth and provide places where young adults can do the same. Young adults are seeking a place where they can boldly express their beliefs.
- Pray that mature believers cover the younger generations in prayer. Many have little to no understanding of spiritual warfare or how to use their authority against the enemy.
- Pray for spiritually mature believers with a heart to love, disciple, shield, fortify, and help them understand God’s love and purpose for their lives. Ask God for a strategy on how to teach them to respond God’s way, not giving way to the enemy’s bait of fear, anger, ridicule, etc.
- Pray against worldwide demonic activity, such as the spirits of Jezebel, and spirits influencing hatred, jealousy, murder, violence, etc.
- Pray for the leadership of Turning Point to have reduced stress. They need times of rest with God so that they can hear from Him clearly and have a hedge of protection on all sides.
- Pray for all ministries to remain strong and stay within the lane God has given them, within their circle of influence, so they won’t be distracted by others or things they are not called to.
But wait, there’s more.
Here are some amazing testimonies shared by Angel. During the time of greeting attendees, we were able to dedicate a one-month-old baby girl. We rejoiced with another group that sought out the intercessors to share a salvation story. We were able to pray for a persecuted artist who paints prophetically. A young man who needed prayer saw us, and we were able to offer prayer for him. Another attendee who had fallen joined us at a table for fellowship and many prayers as a team.
Paula, a member of the Florida prayer team, was also moved by the boldness of each speaker who put God first. Like Angel, she was touched to see so many young adults turning to God and their love for America. They are thankful for the powerful prayers of IFA and for the work TPUSA does.
Anita believes that God is restoring order to the spheres of society, including government, community, the church, and families. Because they witnessed thousands of young adults pursuing the Lord, they believe God is ready to use this young generation to do His Kingdom work. They are not afraid to rise in faith and boldly proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ to a world in need of salvation. Let the church and intercessors say Amen!
Like Angel, maybe you are exhausted by the political craziness and theatrics. Perhaps you are grieved by the state of our youth and young adults in this nation. Most mainstream media tend to highlight only the worst aspects of humanity. If we look at social media, almost everything about the younger generations is negative. That’s because negative engagement often gets more views and trends faster than positive news.
I pray that this article shows you the power of intercessory prayer. If you have been praying for young people, I hope you are encouraged. There is a generation of youth and young adults who are hungry for truth. They are hungry for Jesus and want to be part of a godly change in this nation. They are just trying to find their voice and their place, just like the rest of us. They need our continual prayers and encouragement. Will you continue to be that intercessor?

I saw some posts that were quite disturbing on Charlie Kirk agreeing with youth feeling it was wrong to prioritize Israel with US support. What I saw was a terrible representation of the truth from historical, biblical and common sense with no mention of the atrocities continually committed against Israel. Nor were the “media-ites” held accountable for their continual decades of bias and discriminatory reporting which are LIES! I don’t count this conference as a win!
Dawn, while there are areas that concern me in Charlie Kirk’s political stances, the majority of the debates he takes part in, he centers in on Biblical truth, and he doesn’t back off on pro-life and other “hot” topics of our day. Unlike you, I believe this conference accomplished a lot – much of it highlighted in this article. In areas like his stance on military aid to Israel, like many he doesn’t seem to be aware of the fact that YHVH Himself is working in and through this conflict in the Middle East, and will see that Israel succeeds. I want our nation to be on the right side of that equation! Another area I pray for him about is his weak stance in regard to Biblical creation vs. the theory of evolution. I pray he checks out Answers in Genesis. I recognize that where I stand now in regard to Biblical understanding, has been a process of truth being revealed to me over many years. God didn’t wait to use me until I had everything right – otherwise He never would have used me at all! Let’s pray for him to continue to grow and be malleable in God’s hands – ever learning and ever growing in the knowledge of the Lord. None of us have arrived, and yet we are called to travel together with others we may not completely agree with. I want to do it with grace. Help us to do so, Lord!
