After Biden shut it down early in his term, Trump plans to restart the Keystone XL pipeline as soon as he takes office.

It was one of Joe Biden’s first moves as president (and a message to the country on how he would rule): shutting down the Keystone XL pipeline, a 1,200-mile Canada-to-Nebraska crude project that would have employed thousands of workers and transported up to 830,000 barrels of oil per day.

The future of the pipeline has gone back and forth between Republican and Democrat administrations, with Obama first refusing to approve it, then Trump coming in 2017 and putting it back on track, then energy-hating Biden nuking it once more. Trump reportedly considers it a first-day goal:

The people of the sandhills and other pristine areas want protection from environmental hazards. This needs to be considered. Father, may all be done to Your glory. Protect nature and wildlife. Grant an open market system to enhance our natural resources. Let all be done in peace and safety. Amen.
I do agree, we need to invest in our oil production though I do have concerns that the original pipeline was going to go over a water resource within the reservation. Father, we ask that you give wisdom to the President and all who are involved to restart this pipeline. Help us to be mindful of how precious water is to your people and that good solution is found to meet all states involved. We thank you, and give you praise.
Thank you, Father. May this move come about and the pipeline building be restored.
It’s about time we used the resources God has blessed America with. Time to quit funding foreign nations that use our money against us. Thank you Father God for all the many blessings and your great mercy!
