“I am pleased to announce that I will be nominating Mike Waltz to be the next United States Ambassador to the United Nations,” Trump posted to Truth Social Thursday.

“From his time in uniform on the battlefield, in Congress and, as my National Security Advisor, Mike Waltz has worked hard to put our Nation’s Interests first. I know he will do the same in his new role. In the interim, Secretary of State Marco Rubio will serve as National Security Advisor, while continuing his strong leadership at the State Department. Together, we will continue to fight tirelessly to Make America, and the World, SAFE AGAIN. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” …

Trump added in his post thatĀ Rubio will simultaneously serve as his interim national security advisor after Waltz left the role on Thursday. …

Waltz and other National Security Council staffers were ousted from their office Thursday, in the most high-profile executive office exits of the second Trump administration. Trump’s announcement on naming Waltz as U.N. ambassador unfolded just hours after the news began circulating.

The former national security advisor had been at the heart of the Signal chat leak debacle that unfolded in March, when the editor-in-chief of the Atlantic magazine was inadvertently added to a group chat with high-profile Trump officials such as Waltz, Secretary of DefenseĀ Pete Hegseth and CIA Director John Ratcliffe discussing military strikes on Houthi rebels in Yemen. …

Ahead of Trump tapping Waltz for the new administration role, a handful of names had been floated for U.N. ambassador after Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., withdrew her nomination in March, including David Friedman, former U.S. ambassador to Israel; Ellie Cohanim, former deputy special envoy to monitor and combat antisemitism at the State Department under the first Trump administration; and special presidential envoy Richard Grenell. …

Trump announced Stefanik as his original choice for the role in November 2024, just days after his successful election against former Vice PresidentĀ Kamala Harris. The New York congresswoman, however, pulled her nomination last month as concerns mounted in Trump’s orbit that the GOP’s slim majority in the House would grow smaller in her absence. …

Stating the obvious: Mike Waltz has been moved from a position which enabled him to have input on policies to one where he just supports policies which have already been decided.

Mike Waltz is one of the few individuals in Trump’s administration who has experience. He was a defense director at the Pentagon under Bush and served as an counterterrorism advisor to Cheney during a critical moment in our history. He was elected to the House of Representatives many times during which time he served on the House Armed Services Committee. He was a governor of Florida.

It is widely known that Don Trump Jr. is behind many of his father’s policies and appointments and that he is influenced by Tucker Carlson.

Tucker Carlson has interviewed individuals who deny that the Holocaust happened and in a widely known for his admiration of Putin.

Mike Waltz, Donald Trump Jr and Tucker Carlson are all public figures who have made their views clear by their public statements. Waltz is known to be hawkish about China, for example.

The idea that everything President Trump does is perfect and that he is infallible is false. Afterall, he has said that Zelensky was a dictator and then weeks later said that he wasn’t and that he has never said that he was a dictator. He had a policy of tariffs of 145% or more on Chinese goods but when the stock market continued to fall, backpedaled. When the bond market came close to collapsed, he changed his policies on tariffs on other countries. He has said that Ukraine started the war which is clearly false. So, if he is never wrong, why are his policies constantly changing?

We should be careful repeating the words of the press. Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and “ousted” is a strong, negative word. May President Trump always choose appointments to high position wisely. Placing Waltz in the position of Ambassador to the UN is an honorable position. President Trump has always been protective of his selections. May God continue to guide his hand. May His will be done.

There is a difference between stating facts and slander.

Slander attacks character and often provides no proof. Facts just say what happened.

We as Christians need to face reality. We need to be able to deal with truth.

Yes, Ambassador to the UN is an honorable position but is one that is not involved with setting policies.

I beg to differ on the quality of Trump’s appointments.

I am not repeating what the press has said but rather what is widely known.

Lord, I pray that President Trump is led by your Holy Spirit in placing people in position that effect our national security. He needs to please you and not man. God lead Mike Waltz as he continues in his new role. In Jesus’ name.

The Signal chat leak debacle is not behind this. Afterall, Waltz was using the Signal chat to establish contacts. It was Hegseth who shared sensitive information in regard to the strike in Yemen as the strike was occurring (The Atlantic journalist did not reveal the details until after the strike team was home.) That along with Hegseth’s other oversights such as the second Signal chat with his wife where sensitive military secrets was shared, along with his trying to arrange for Musk to have access to sensitive information about war strategies which cold be used against China, along with his taking his wife to several high level meetings, along with his former Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of staff and Senior Adviser issuing a joint statement about the Pentagon being in chaos should have made him the first person who was replaced.

What is taking place in a power struggle with those who support ‘peace through strength’ against those who want to follow an ‘appeasement approach’ (which is clearly NOT working) which is headed by Donald Trump, Jr and media personalities (who have no real diplomatic or foreign policy experience).

It now turns out that there were at least 12 Signal chats where Hegseth shared military information, not two. Why aren’t MAGA news sources and IFA sharing this? So what are we discussing now, 19 mistakes on the part of Hegseth?

Mike Waltz served faithfully in all his appointments and did not waste time in owning his guilt in the Signal situation. If President Trump still has faith in him, that is good enough. I am glad naysayers are not influencers/advisors of the President. I will continue to pray for all involved.

I don’t think it is a good choice. Something about him seems off.

I believe President Trump did that to keep social media at bay. Prayers for Mike.
