In the latest in deportation news, President Trump is directing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to go after sanctuary cities like Los Angeles and New York, cities he calls the “core of the Democrat Power Center.”

Trump posted a Truth Social on Sunday that he is directing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers to expand its deportation operations to “America’s largest Cities, such as Los Angeles, Chicago and New York.” The president added that these cities are the “core of the Democrat Power Center.” Trump explained his Truth Social while at the G7 Summit on Monday, telling reporters that he wants to go after “sanctuary cities” because they have been “overrun by criminals.”
“I want them to focus on the cities, because the cities are where you really have what’s called sanctuary cities, and that’s where the people are. I look at New York. I look at Chicago. I mean, you got a really bad governor in Chicago and a bad mayor, but the governor is probably the worst in the country — Pritzker — but I look at how that city has been overrun by criminals,” Trump said, naming New York and Los Angeles as well.
This comes amid a larger push from the GOP to stop harmful sanctuary policies. Recently, House Republicans grilled blue state governors over the impact of these policies.
This also comes amid conflict between President Trump and California Governor Gavin Newsom over deportations. Los Angeles, one of the cities the President named, has seen an influx of anti-ICE protests and riots.
As the President targets these cities, let’s pray for an end to harmful sanctuary policies that protect criminals and put Americans at risk.

Father, may these cities give up their illegal aliens, especially criminals. Open doors so ICE may arrest those in this country illegally, who do not respect our boundaries and who do not appreciate being here, who want to destroy the country they decided they want to live in. Protect those who are not violent and who are peaceful. In your mercy, draw all their hearts to you so they may find life in you.
We just relocated from a blue Democrat-run “sanctuary” city (in a red state!) to a deep red state because of skyrocketing crime, litter, and homeless encampments everywhere: parks, strip mall parking lots, downtown city sidewalks, gas station parking lots, even the vestibule of a local bank.
It became impossible to have a package delivered due to ubiquitous porch pirates.
Residents in good neighborhoods had ring camera footage of homeless people defecating in their yards at night.
MS-13 were encamped in apartment buildings and daily shootings became commonplace news.
We went from a lovely college town to a cesspool in a few short years, due to our idiot Democrat Mayor designating our city as a “sanctuary city.” We were overrun in no time.
We moved out of the state, and while we love our new deep-red state, we are sad for our friends and neighbors we left behind. We can’t imagine how “sanctuary” cities will ever recover. But we pray for them and appreciate the prayers of IFA intercessors here. Your prayers are greatly needed.
