The Trump administration is signaling cautious optimism about a potential deal to end the escalating conflict with Iran, even as military pressure intensifies in the region. With a U.S. naval blockade now in place and sanctions looming, the situation remains volatile and uncertain.

From The Epoch Times:

The Trump administration expressed optimism on Wednesday about reaching a deal to end the U.S.–Israeli war on Iran and threatened to impose sanctions on buyers of Iranian oil as the U.S. maritime blockade of Iranian ports continues.

U.S. and Iranian officials were weighing a return to Pakistan for further talks after last weekend’s talks ended without a deal.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said at a news conference on Wednesday: “These conversations are productive and ongoing, and that’s where we are right now. I’ve also seen some reporting about the potentiality for in-person discussions. Again, those discussions are being had, but nothing is official until you hear it from us here at the White House, but we feel good about the prospects of a deal.”

At the same time, the administration is applying significant economic and military pressure to bring Iran to the negotiating table. The threat of secondary sanctions on countries purchasing Iranian oil represents a major escalation, potentially impacting global markets and isolating Iran financially. Coupled with the naval blockade—enforced by U.S. warships in key waterways like the Strait of Hormuz—this strategy reflects a dual-track approach of diplomacy backed by force.

The broader conflict has already reshaped the region, escalating tensions with Iranian leadership following major military strikes. Iran’s backing of proxy groups such as Hezbollah and Hamas continues to be a central issue in negotiations. Meanwhile, mediation efforts led by Pakistan highlight the international stakes, even as some allies—like the United Kingdom under Keir Starmer—have declined to join the blockade, underscoring divisions among Western nations.

This moment carries significant global and spiritual weight, as decisions made now could impact not only regional stability but the future of Israel and the broader Middle East. Pray for wisdom for President Trump and allied leaders, for peace that is rooted in truth, and for protection over Israel and innocent lives caught in the conflict.

There’s a CNN story making its rounds to millions of readers today called:

“How the first American pope is reclaiming Christian values from the Trump administration”

I don’t normally pay much attention to Pope Leo , but I am grateful for how the LORD worked through his seat of authority these crucial few weeks to humble the blood-lust wing of the US government.

There’s no doubt the LORD will use the fall of the Ayatollah and the weakening of nuclear enrichment for the good of Iran and the future of its people. But in the meantime: blessed are the peacemakers for thwarting the unhinged, wanton escalation that could have continued to proceed otherwise. I continue to pray Psalm 91 over the people of Iran, the US military, and the entire Middle East. May our God continue to work miracles as He makes disciples of all nations and advances the Gospel to all peoples.

we pray for peace and a swift end to this conflict. Jesus you said if we live by the sword, we would die by the sword. Give us Your love for your creation that we would not destroy them. Amen
