On Monday, President Trump met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and other European leaders in the White House. This meeting came after President Trump’s summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on Friday. In each discussion, every leader spoke about one thing: Ukraine.

The Russia-Ukraine war is nearly 4 years old. President Trump, meanwhile, has promised for years that he will end the war, guaranteeing it would happen on his first day in office. That obviously didn’t come to pass, but the President has been hard at work since his inauguration, aiming to bring peace to Eastern Europe.
So what did President Trump talk about with these leaders over the past few days? Here’s what you need to know.
No Ceasefire
President Trump has sought a ceasefire for months, and Ukraine expressed previously that a ceasefire was a necessary first step toward peace. Despite this, Putin refused to agree to a ceasefire during the summit in Alaska.
President Trump initially pushed back on the Russian leader, threatening “very severe consequences.” However, by the end of the summit, the President had shifted his position, arguing the best way to end the war is with a lasting peace deal, not a mere ceasefire.
Despite this, the President received pushback from some European leaders. German chancellor Friedrich Merz pushed for a pause to the fighting, suggesting that the credibility of future negotiations hinge upon a ceasefire.
Territory Exchange
During the Alaskan summit, Putin demanded the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine. This region, as well as the Crimean peninsula, has been a major source of tension, as Russia has cited protecting the Russian speaking population in these territories as a justification for invading Ukraine.
Zelensky initially rejected any proposal to cede territory. However, following his meeting with President Trump, he told reporters that the exchange of territory would be discussed in future trilateral meetings involving Putin, President Trump, and himself.
Security Guarantees
While President Trump has forbid NATO membership, he did offer Ukraine security guarantees alongside Europe. And, surprisingly, Russia seemed to agree with these security guarantees during the Alaskan summit.
For his part, Zelensky seemed very excited about these security guarantees. President Trump also said yesterday that the deployment of U.S. troops to serve as peacekeeping forces in Ukraine isn’t off the table.
Putin may have soured on these security guarantees afterward. As Fox News reported at around 5 PM ET, “The Russian Foreign Ministry roundly rejected the idea of NATO forces serving as peacekeepers in Ukraine.”
What’s Next?
A trilateral meeting. During his meeting with the President, Zelensky said he’s open to a trilateral meeting with Putin, President Trump, and himself. And, with all that was discussed on Friday and Monday, this seems like the logical next step.
President Trump promised to phone Putin immediately after the meetings. He seemed intent on a future trilateral, suggesting a three-way meeting would be “a good chance for maybe ending” the conflict.
As intercessors, now is the time for us to pray. Let’s pray for an end to the war in Ukraine, and let’s pray for God’s will to be done in Eastern Europe!

Lord we ask for a major intervention of your Holy Spirit to prolifically spread the Good News that eternal peace with you is possible. May that in turn bring a lasting peace between neighbors into the physical and political realm!
Lord, we pray that You’d bring an end to this war. We pray that You’d yay President Trump to do it. I pray that President Trump will stay humble and not claim any of these things for his own glory. I pray that he’d clearly realize that You are working in the hearts of men and he’d give you all the glory publicly.

We pray President Trump will bring peace to Eastern Europe. We pray for Russia and Ukraine as they work toward peace. President Trump has been hard at work on discussing with Russia president Putin, Ukraine president Zelensky, and the European leaders to end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Because he’s the only person who can bring peace to the world. And he’s already settled 7 Wars in the last few months, including between: Armenia–Azerbaijan, DRC–Rwanda, Israel–Iran, India–Pakistan, Cambodia–Thailand, Egypt–Ethiopia, and Serbia–Kosovo, One of them a possible Nuclear disaster. Now he’s about to Close the Deal on ending the Russia/Ukraine Mess for sure. He’s not only a Unifier and a Peacemaker, but also a Warrior anointed for Justice, and a Protector of innocence – to Save children from the hidden evil of Child Traffickers. The Russia-Ukraine war may not be what the fake media reported, we are actually in a battle not just political but moral and spiritual — a clash of light vs. darkness. Time will tell the truth. Heavenly Father, thank You that as believers we have your peace and we know that You work all things together for the good of those that love You. You know the intentions and hearts of these men so I pray over all this tension going on that Your will be done in these talks and negotiations… In Jesus name I pray Amen
Speak the truth!
Trump has taken forcing Russia to withdraw from Ukraine off the negotiating table.
Trump has also never used the full force of tariffs against Russia and has taken them off the negotiating table at the present time.
Trump has also taken a cease fire off the table so Russia continues to bombard Ukraine so as to gain as much ground as they can.
Trump has taken inserting American solders as peacekeepers off the table.
Trump makes vague promises of security for Ukraine and then he tries and force other countries to assume responsibility for it with vague promises that American MIGHT use air support.
Russia refuses to let NATO be involved.
The only point Trump is negotiating is trying to force Ukraine and Europe to agree to letting Russia take possession of Ukraine land which contains heavily fortified areas that Russia has not been able to conquer and on which five million Ukrainians still live and land which RUSSIA HAS NO CLAIM OVER.
Trump is negotiating on behave of Russia. From the perspective of Europe and Ukraine, HE IS NO PEACEMAKER.
The claim by IFA here that Russia has a right to that land is false.
France and Great Britain are offering to place a few troops….at airports and other secure areas far from the battle lines. Trump is making vague promises about air and other support. Trump has no problem changing his mind. This is no deal for the Ukrainians. They are to give up their fortified positions and turn over a significant port of their citizens to Russian control. Trump is no deal maker. Trump is no peacemaker.

Propaganda uses grandiose statements like “Trump is used by God to bring peace.” He has not brought peace yet so the statement is not factual. That he is being used by God is opinion. One problem is that one of the group is very needy narcissist and must be flattered continually, as well as changing his mind by the minute according to the last person he spoke to.

Sadly, there is truth to what you say. Trump has a personality disorder which is apparent to everyone in the world…except for MAGA. He needs protection and prayer in that area and he is not getting it because the intercessors which visit this site are mostly MAGA and are in denial of it.

Lord, I pray for your blessings over President Trump as he works to bring peace. I pray that BOTH Russia and Ukraine would WORK FOR peace. I pray for unified prayer among your people, praying for peace.
God I ask you to speak to Putin and call him to repentance. He has shown no regard for human life and he does not speak truthfully. If he will turn, repent, and truly seek peace, PRAISE YOU! If he will not, I pray that he would be removed from his place of power and that You would replace him with a peacemaker.

Trump has just said there would be no American troops in Ukraine, so there is actually nothing that has been accomplished!!!!!! Europe doesn’t have the backbone to stop a Russian evasion!!! Turning over Ukraine citizens to Russia as well as their fortified areas in Donetsk is not acceptable!!!!!!!

I am for peace. I am against putting Ukraine in a compromised position where they cannot defend themselves. I am also against turning over their lands to Russia because that is in effect turning over their own citizens, who live there and whose families have lived there for hundreds and in some cases thousands of years, to their enemy.

You are obviously new to praying for Ukraine. I have posted many, many prayers for Ukraine and pray daily for Ukraine in private but it is pointless to post something when anything you post is against intercessors whose prayers are based on misinformation and are praying against God’s will.
The Donbas ‘region’ includes Donetsk which is the most heavily fortified area in Ukraine and it and Luhansk are industrial areas with many factories. After a Russian-caused -famine under Stalin which left millions of Ukrainians dead, Russians were moved into the areas where they once lived. After witnessing how the Russians treated Crimean, many of their descendants decided to fight with the Ukrainians. A minority are fighting with the Russians. Putin used the fact that Russians had been moved into the region to justify his attacking Ukraine. In twelve years of fighting Russia has not been able to capture the entire Donetsk region. If the fortified areas in Donetsk were turned over to Russia, it would be easier for Russia to capture more of Ukraine. Since this is Russia’s forth attempt to gain more of its ‘lost empire’, three being successful, there is no reason to believe that he will stop even after being given more land.
Russia has been causing problems in Estonia, building up some of its military bases and railroads all along its European border and been behind terrorist attacks in the rest of Europe.
Sixty percent (60%) of the UKRAINIAN soldiers are Russian speaking. In other words, Russian-speaking Ukrainians are fighting for Ukraine, not for Russia.
Or, in other words, THERE IS NO JUSTIFCATION FOR PUTIN ATTACKING UKRAINE.

Father, I speak shalom over Ukraine and Russia, over Pres. Putin and Pres. Zelensky. Bring a resolution that is acceptable to both of them. Turn Putin’s neck and especially his “empire growing” ideology, acting as though he is Peter the Great. If he won’t budge, then remove hi from his office. Please read the comments above. The only ‘acceptable’ outcome for Putin is gaining more of the so called Russian empire back. There is no moral justification for his claim over Ukraine.

Jesus, I pray blessing upon President Trump as he strives to bring about peace in this ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. This war has gone on for far too long. Obviously, Putin greatly underestimated the resolve and strength of Ukraine. While I can’t see Zelensky being willing to give territory to Russia, a deal must be reached soon, for the benefit of both nations. This war has dragged on for far too long. I pray, Lord, that it will a fruitful attempt to broker lasting peace in this ongoing conflict. Thank You Jesus.

Ecclesiates 3:8 says there is “a time for war and a time for peace.” It is not possible to make peace with evil. Putin has no claim over Ukraine. Most of the soldiers now fighting Russia are Russia speaking.
God is also the one who established the borders for each country. It is NOT his will for one people group to oppress another.
