Last week, following President Trump’s “Liberation Day” tariffs announcement, China retaliated by instituting tariffs of its own. The President has now doubled down, threatening additional tariffs if the communication nation does not back down.
From The Daily Wire. President Donald Trump gave China a deadline of Tuesday “to withdraw” its retaliatory tariff on the United States, threatening to impose an additional 50% tariff on the communist country.

The president also said he would cancel meetings with China if the country doesn’t back down from its retaliatory tariff. The additional 50% tariff would be added onto the 34% tariff imposed by Trump last week, which was put in place on top of a 20% levy the president imposed on China shortly after taking office, Bloomberg reported.
Last week, in his “Liberation Day” announcement, the president imposed tariffs on almost all of the United States’ top trading partners, including a 34% tariff on China. China responded to Trump’s tariffs on Friday, announcing a 34% tariff on all U.S. imports and calling for the White House “to immediately cancel its unilateral tariff measures and resolve trade differences through consultation in an equal, respectful and mutually beneficial manner.”

Thank the Lord that we are finally standing up to China. Doing so has been so needed to protect our country from the power and goals of this country. We have been badly betrayed in the matter by the Biden administration. Praise Jesus that He has heard our prayers and is now intervening on our behalf.
Heavenly Father, I thank You for equipping President Trump in this ever-changing world. May Your word of wisdom and discernment be the voice he recognizes and follows first. By Your Spirit grant him courage and strength, with sound utterance to leaders whom put our country at risk. Grant him sound rest, peace that protects his heart and mind and the assurance that when he puts his faith in You, You will never abandon him. Thank You for Your promises and faithfulness, we give You all the praise. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
It is hard to tell how President Trump’s tariffs will turn out, but in looking at how other nations are beginning to react in wanting to work with us and reducing their own tariffs in response, it seems this is a good thing. It will help our nation. May God give our President much wisdom!
Lord Jesus we come before Your throne asking for mercy for our nation, and our leaders, and for even China’s horrible persecuting government and leaders. God I pray that the eyes of their hearts would each be opened to see You and Your awesomeness that they would BOW their knee to You. That they would see their sin in Your eyes and their hearts would soften. Bring about a huge revival in this country and set the persecuted free. Give our president and leaders wisdom from above in dealing with them. In the mighty name above all names. Jesus. Jesus is Lord.
