President Trump announced his plans to strip Harvard University of its tax-exempt status only a day after signing an executive order to defund NPR and PBS. Praise God!

Trump’s comments come amid a funding fight with the university as his administration has frozen more than $2 billion in federal funds to Harvard over its pushback on his administration’s efforts to target diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and handling of anti-Israel protests. Last week, Trump called Harvard a “far left institution” and “a threat to Democracy.”
“We are going to be taking away Harvard’s Tax Exempt Status. It’s what they deserve!” Trump posted on his social media platform Friday morning.
The announcement comes after repeated pressure from Trump for Harvard to comply with his executive orders on education or face the consequences. Last month, the Washington Post reported that the Treasury Department had asked the IRS to revoke Harvard’s tax-exempt status. …
From Fox News. President Donald Trump on Thursday signed an executive order to slash taxpayer funds to PBS and NPR, two media outlets the White House accused of spreading “radical woke propaganda.”
The order instructs the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and other federal agencies “to cease Federal funding for NPR and PBS.” It further requires that they work to root out indirect sources of public financing for the news organizations.
“[President Trump] just signed an executive order ENDING the taxpayer subsidization of NPR and PBS – which receive millions from taxpayers to spread radical, woke propaganda disguised as ‘news,’” the White House posted in a statement on X.
The broadcasters get roughly half a billion dollars in public money through the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and have been preparing for the possibility of stiff cuts since Trump’s re-election. …
Thursday’s move against PBS and NPR comes as his administration has been working to dismantle the U.S. Agency for Global Media …
Those efforts have faced pushback from federal courts, which have ruled in some cases that the Trump administration may have overstepped its authority in holding back funds appropriated to the outlets by Congress. …

These are great things that our president is doing. It is long overdue. I am grateful that President Trump is taking the lead and and removing funding from liberal agencies and Harvard University.
The complexity of the information age means most people have less information about what our government does with its money than ever before. We didn’t know what we were financing for years. Many thought that giving PBS and others tax exempt status would allow donors to fund what they believed in. But we didn’t know how many public sources of funding we were providing to make these institutions social behemoths in this country. These are special interests and the American people should not have to pay for them!
I agree that bias on public media and in public institutions must be removed. The issue is, who is biased? That is a deeper issue. We need to ascertain in prayer that what we label as biased (may be so) is not just that which is different from what we think. Our prayers need to be for deep discernment and guidance in how to remove bias. We need to remember to remove the log in our own eyes before going after the speck (or even another log) in our brother’s.
To my understanding, bias is the enforcement of listening to one side only, and not the opinions of anyone thinking differently. Instead, let us exert prayer and effort to allow the expression of all sides, so that people may discern among them.
It’s about time that someone stands against the principles of Harvard. They need to look into high schools that are also teaching our young teens to hate America. Yes, we have made mistakes, but we have been a country that works at doing better and will continue to support the efforts. Lets work toward making America a nation to be proud of. God has blessed our nation and I pray we will continue to be a nation who Loves God and it’s fellow man. To God be all Glory!!
I am tired of my tax dollars being given to agencies and ideologies that I do not support, so I am thankful for this stripping of funds from NPR and PBS and removal of tax exempt status for Harvard.
YHVH, please continue to use President Trump to bring the federal government into alignment with Your plans and purposes for our nation, for it has become a monster bent only upon it’s own survival – please downsize it. The monster is not going down without a fight! So uphold those in the battle, and strengthen them.
PBS is a great channel but way too liberal in its news hours. It is the news casters that cause the mayhem.
Lord, I have been so saddened by the media’s political agendas, instead of the uncompromising pursuit of Truth and publication of all facts that I came to appreciate in the 1960’s and 70’s. Inspire many people to love Truth and allowing others to explain their thoughts and ideas without acrimony and contention. We have lost our appreciation of others as your creation, made in your image and likeness. They need compassion rather than condemnation as fellow humans. Let our hearts be broken over their condition of separation from the Truth in your Word, so that they can witness your Love for them. You do not desire even one to be lost. Amen
Amen!
