As Texas voters headed to the polls for a series of pivotal primary runoff elections, several high-profile races delivered major victories for candidates aligned with President Donald Trump and the conservative movement. The results are expected to shape not only Texas politics, but also the national political landscape heading into the 2026 midterms.

Voters in Texas went to the polls on Tuesday for a series of critical primary runoff elections in the 2026 midterms.
The most anticipated race came in Texas, where Attorney General Ken Paxton unseated incumbent Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) with President Donald Trumpās endorsement.
Republican voters also selected a new attorney general nominee, while Democratic voters in the state made their pick for two critical House seats.
Paxtonās victory over Cornyn marks one of the most consequential Republican primary upsets in recent years. Backed heavily by President Trump, Paxton benefited from growing grassroots frustration with longtime establishment Republicans. The race became the most expensive Senate primary in U.S. history, with well over $100 million spent throughout the campaign season. Many conservatives viewed the outcome as another sign that Republican voters continue to favor candidates closely aligned with Trumpās America First agenda.
Elsewhere in Texas, state Sen. Mayes Middleton secured the Republican nomination for attorney general after defeating Congressman Chip Roy in a contentious runoff. Middleton campaigned aggressively on border security, opposing gender ideology, fighting sanctuary cities, and defending conservative values. His victory further solidified the influence of the MAGA movement across statewide Republican politics.
Several Democrat primaries also reflected the ongoing effects of Texas redistricting battles. In Houston, Rep. Christian Menefee defeated longtime Congressman Al Green after district lines forced the two incumbents into the same race. Former Congressman Colin Allred also won a Democrat runoff for another House seat after abandoning his Senate bid earlier this year.
The Texas runoffs underscore how deeply national political and cultural issues continue to shape state elections. Border security, illegal immigration, gender ideology, law enforcement, and the influence of President Trump all played central roles throughout the campaigns. With Texas remaining one of the nationās most influential political battlegrounds, the outcomes of these races could carry significant implications for the balance of power in Washington.

I keep our President, Donald J. Trump, and his talented Cabinet in my prayers – Christian men and women who clearly love God, America and the American people!
I appreciate every conservative Republican in office all across America, defending God and Country. They deserve our support and our votes, every election, every time.
Great news for the conservatives yet the Democrats big thing in Wisconsin is do women have the right for an abortion thatās already been on the air on TV. Itās gonna be a big battle and the Democrats say how much it is the right of every woman to do what she wants to to her body. This has to be stopped and say itās up to the states every girl can go to the state she wants and it needs to be said that if youāre raped there are laws that say you can go to the hospital and be cleaned. This needs to come out now.
I understand the encouragement to join in the upcoming event with Dutch Sheets. However I find it very annoying to have to dismiss it on every prayer page. Please, isnāt once is enough?
The truth of the Bible could not be more clear in our day. The Bible presents a consistent picture of those that are most zealous for God are often the furthest away from doing Godās will. Scribes and Pharisees are only one example. Today, James Talarico has no accusations of any immorality against him, an outspoken Christian, went to seminary. Yet, Evangelicals over one issue, call him demon-possessed and evil. The president commits adultery in 3 marriages with āactresses,ā has innumerable accusations of corruption and bribery, is a convicted felon. He was found liable for rape and now has his justice department go after the woman in revenge. And Evangelicals have no problems with any of this and support the president fully. I want my non-believing friends to come to know Jesus but to say to them, Jesus taught us to give our lives to him and seek God with a pure heart, and to say come sign up for this Evangelical vision of āmay your kingdom comeā is crazy. Evangelicals are nowhere near trying to bring in Jesusā kingdom.
Gods not done with trump.bible says God holds the heart of leaders. He turns their hearts, one way, or the other freedom or judgment we need to repent. Heās the only president since who knows how long that rededicated our country to God .is any one perfect. I have never met one except Jesus we donāt know what goes on behind the scenes. Some of the things are shocking, but I donāt know whatās happening, so I cannot condemn..

Father God, we declare that every seat in Texas will be cleansed with the Blood of Jesus. We declare that we will send to DC godly people who will fight for God and America. We wash the minds of our government officials with the Blood of Jesus and we cast down vain imaginations and every high thing that exults itself against the name of Jesus. Give us godly people in authority over us. We declare that the spirit of islam is under the Blood of Jesus and cannot control our government. Bless all the candidates that truly follow you and will show your love to all the people, while working for the people, not the GOP, any other person on earth or any other influence except Yours alone. Please sway the hearts of all legally registered voters this fall and bring many citizens out to vote that have not engaged in the process in the last many years due to disillusionment, corruption and lack of election integrity. May Godās will prevail in this next election and may Godās chosen candidates win every one of their races. God IS on the move. Now is not the time to sit back and expect God to do it all . We are partners with Him ā¦ prayer partners. He moves when we ask Him to do something. If we donāt ask, we will not receive. Now is not the time to sit back and think that we have done our part. Now is the time to work and pray harder than ever before. Pray ā¦ pray ā¦pray.
Churches ā¦ you have a part to play, too. Please encourage your people to vote. And remember that Godās word tells us that the government is on the shoulders of Jesus, and our nation was founded on the Word of God, and birth from prayer. You have a very important part to play in this. You (our churches) are needed NOW. Please do your part. It will make a big difference in America. Listen to God ā¦ not the world.
