I Prayed have prayed
Father, we thank You for the restoration of this statue. We thank You for all that President Trump is doing to honor America's heroes.

Six years ago, racial division and chaos led to the toppling of a statue of Christopher Columbus in Baltimore. Now, however, the statue is being reconstructed and placed on the White House grounds.

Pray for your fellow intercessor.

From Straight Arrow News:

Almost six years ago, amid a racial reckoning brought on by the killing of George Floyd, protesters in Baltimore toppled a statue of Christopher Columbus and dumped it into the city’s harbor.

Now the statue — or, more precisely, a reconstructed version of it — is back, in a far more prominent location.

The Trump administration plans to place the Columbus statue on the White House grounds, The Washington Post reported. Originally unveiled by President Ronald Reagan, it has been rebuilt by Washington-area sculptors with the support of a group of Italian businessmen and politicians. Local charities and federal grants funded the project.

Straight Arrow News (SAN) notes that, in recent years, Columbus has become a polarizing figure. Critics accuse him of committing genocide against Native Americans. Even before 2020, some states had already begun replacing Columbus Day with Indigenous Peoples’ Day. Anti-Columbus sentiment reached a fever pitch, however, during the Black Lives Matter protests of 2020.

Former President Joe Biden was the first commander-in-chief to celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day alongside Columbus Day, slighting the Italian explorer from the White House. In contrast, President Trump has staunchly defended Columbus. In October of last year, the President signed a proclamation formally recognizing Columbus day and honoring the explorer as “the original American hero,” according to SAN.

In countless areas, President Trump is working tirelessly to honor the American heroes of the past, even those seen in a controversial light, and to celebrate America’s history. As our nation celebrates its 250th anniversary this year, let’s thank God for all those who make America what it is today!

What do you think of the President’s decision to reconstruct this statue? Share your thoughts and prayers below.

Yes, Yes! Continue actions of this kind. Everything done by the prior administration’s “Renaming” committee was disingenuous, awful, counter-productive, expensive, reprehensible, and grievous. It should all be reversed. Every name changed should be replaced with the prior name, and every statue or marker should be restored. Anyone thinking any defensible thing was done by the renaming and removal of markers of history should study up on the Antiquities Act. We are to keep the statues, memorials, names, etc. because of respect for the people who wanted them there. It is the same principle that we apply to Indian burial grounds, and of course our own cemeteries. Get on with getting it all back right. Blessings to all. Lewis Bishop

I grew up in Baltimore and was living there when these riots took place. Pictures of the writers dumping the statue in the harbor. We’re on the evening news. The police had been told to stand down, and we’re watching all of this take place, doing nothing to stop it. Disgusting. My nephew, a police officer who was standing down along with all the others, was severely injured by a brick at the rioting at the Mondawmin mall, has gone through a number of serious operations, and is now confined to a desk downtown for the rest of his career. May God spare our country from any such future events.

    Dear Wm,
I am so sorry your nephew endured such an attack. May the Lord touch him and heal him completely and may the Lord also bless him to be of far greater influence for good and make an even greater impact for good and for righteousness than he ever dreamed possible. May what Satan meant for evil, be turned and used for your nephew’s good, the good of others and all for the glory of God. In Jesus Mighty Name I pray. Amen!

Heavenly Father, I am so happy to hear that statues and structures teaching our history are being rebuilt and set up in the White House lawn and other places. Our youth needs to be taught the truth and the good men and women that faught for this country and did good deeds things like that should be taught in the schools to our children about our history. Lord, may our children be taught the truth about our history, in Jesus’s Name, Amen!

The vandals , lawyers, and city officials supporting removal of historic structures belong in the crossbar palace general population. The Hitler-style lawyers need to be disbarred. History should never be erased like Hitler attempted….

If not for people who were not afraid to explore the unknown and for those who sacrificed everything and trusted in God to free the colonies from evil tyrannical leaders. Yes the US is not exempt from satan’s lies of power that many in our history and our present have believed in. They have done evil in their quest of more power. Yet we the faithful have prayed for God’s guidance and intervention and we have defeated satan’s evils by the grace of God. We need more leaders seeking God’s guidance in our government. I trust that Jesus Christ will take care of this evil.

I believe God uses imperfect people under imperfect conditions to do His work. Father I honor you in asking you to give added grace and favor to our president and his administration. I just heard someone attempted to kill Russ Voight. keep them all safe from evil. Father do what you can do to unite Your America and its people.. place a hedge of protection around us. And finish the projects that have been started and complete Your will for us. Thy kingdom come Thy will be done on Earth as it is in heaven. We long for You. Give Your kids rest and a lift up during this shift. We wish to not grow weary in doing good. All honor praise be yours forever and ever Amen. We approach Your Throne with the blood of Your Son Jesus.

Christopher Columbus was not a bad man. I’m glad the statue was remade. And amazingly, we find out he wasn’t just an explorer, he was a missionary! We need to learn our history better and I pray the nation’s schools will begin teaching it again.

That the divine light which led Christopher Columbus across the Atlantic to establish this nation as a missionary outpost to the world is certainly worth celebrating.
And the president is to be recognized as a man God has raised up to lead this nation back to repentance and glory as we humble ourselves and pray our way back to the covenant our founders established for the gospel of Jesus Christ—a motive Columbus wrote about numerous times in his daily log as he braved the journey to this land.

Dear heavenly father, we thank you for those who made sure this country had providential foundation and through the years since our beginning the many people who gave it all for this country to be founded and defending our certain inalienable rights. Thank you for those that through all of those years have made significant changes, inventions, humbly fighting for peace, and representing history in our continued developments. we thank you for being born in a nation and living a nation that recognizes God as the God of all, the giver of our salvation and our many freedoms, any beautiful stories of our nation. We know that there have been some times that we’re not so proud of that, but we repent and ask for truth to prevail and ask forgiveness and for better days always as a nation. We are so thankful Lord, that you have provided away for our salvation and for our forgiveness and helping us to turn from our wicked ways. We thank you for our children, our hope and our future. We pray that our children and future generations would never forget the love for your people, father and that we would always have us striving to protect and maintain a good relationship with Israel. May we never lose our love for your people the nation of Israel,. we ask that Israel will not be forgotten and always be honored by our nation. Let us never turn away from truth, the Christ, the heavenly Father and the Holy Spirit and our actions be only to bless your people,. May we remain in your Words protecting our relationship with your people of Israel. Guide us and protect us not to forget who our true creator is and that we have nothing without him. We just thank you for this world, your people. We yearn for the day when your son comes to reign and thousands of years of peace. Until that day, Father, bless our relationship with the Jewish nation. We know that God is truth. We know that there are many evil ones here and we just pray Lord, that somehow those people would be reached and come to know Christ as their Lord and Savior. Continue to be with those who are working so hard to keep our nation on your path for the world to never forget the Jewish people as God‘s chosen people and that You will bless those that bless them and that you will also curse the ones that curse the Jewish nation. Thank you again for our relationship with the Jewish people in this role of peace and those that help promote that to keep peace. In Jesus name we pray. Amen and Amen.
