I Prayed have prayed
Lord Almighty, may we lift our voices, hearts, and mind to You today. Show us the way forward with these issues.
Reading Time: 5 minutes

As believers are rising up to take a stand for truth and confronting divisive issues in the nation, it is not merely WHAT we do that will determine the outcome, but HOW we do it that can unite the Church in breaking through…

My young adult daughter rarely dreams and doesn’t consider herself “political” by any stretch. Yet, she had a dream last week that was both political and racial in nature. It revealed a major shift that must take place if we are to break through these familiar walls of division.

In the dream she said our family (we have three young adult children) disembarked from a large boat on our way to new territory. She said, “It was divided, though, between Republicans and Democrats.” We walked along with a group of Republicans up to a “human wall” of Democrats, who were mostly black men and women. She noted that the “room” we were in had low ceilings (limited vision and perception). Not only was there this wall of Democrats, but there was a wall of Republicans which also blocked our way to this new territory.

Then, she and her two brothers followed my husband and I up to the line (note how they follow us throughout this dream). I tried to go through first but was blocked. I then decided to try and appeal to them, convincing them that we were not their enemies. While I was doing this, she looked over to her Dad and oldest brother who had gone to an older black gentleman in line. She said that no words were exchanged between the two men – only looks – and then the black man opened up the line for her Dad and brother to walk through. After that, the rest of the family followed, and we headed to our next destination.

Finally, she said, “When we turned around, all the people on the Democrat side waved us goodbye as if saying ‘Thank you for coming through the right way.’” Then she woke up.

In reflecting on this and processing it with some trusted prophets and intercessors, I believe there is a potent message here for the body of Christ. As we are trying to find our way through the divisive issues in the Church and in this nation, we need to adjust our perception and our approach. We will probably never totally agree on our political perspectives or fully understand the inequities between races. Heaven is calling attention to an even greater cause that will help us break through these walls that are blocking our unity.

WORDS ALONE WILL NOT WIN

In our efforts to speak out about the growing corruption and deception that is rampant, Holy Spirit is showing that words alone will not win the day. In the dream, I believe I represent many prophetic voices who have risen up, unafraid of confronting the issues head on. But, we find ourselves blocked at times and unable to get through. In the dream, I decided to make an appeal instead, hoping the other side would see us differently, and not as enemies. However, even persuasive words did not bring the needed breakthrough.

PROPHETIC AND APOSTOLIC GRACE

Even as I played a prophetic role in the dream, I believe my husband (who is a pastor) demonstrated the apostolic role in this hour. Prophets can break through in the spiritual realm, but apostles can break through in the natural. It’s a divine partnership that has immense weight in the spirit when they work together. I believe that even though the prophet’s charge is critical for this year, it is those who carry apostolic grace who must STEP FORWARD to BREAK THROUGH these issues that divide us. There is a supernatural mantle that true apostles carry that is felt in the spirit and it has power to break yokes and open doors. Where prophetic voices can shift the atmosphere, apostolic authority can move mountains.

But even as this is an important reminder for leaders, there is an even greater message here for all believers. We cannot afford to get stuck on our differences or keep building walls of self-defense. We must look deeper into that which truly makes us one.

A FATHER’S HEART FOR THE SONS

When my husband approached the older black gentleman, no words were needed. He did not approach him to win an argument. Rather, there was an exchange of the heart – of the spirit. When these two men looked into each other’s eyes, there was a recognition that needed no explanation and no interpretation. It was a meeting of hearts between two mature believers – between two spiritual fathers. In the dream, my husband was not only standing as a believer, but as a father (with his son standing right behind him). This somehow connected with his black brother and something shifted in the spirit. Political affiliations and skin color were no longer issues, for there was a stronger bond through the fellowship of the Spirit.

With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. (Ephesians 4:2-6 ESV)

If we are to defeat the demonic strongholds over this nation, we must do so for a higher cause than a political party or racial injustice. We are fighting for our sons and daughters and those who follow us. In the dream, it was clear that we were going through this as a FAMILY. Our sons and daughters are watching us! They are following our example and trusting us to show them the way through.

I want to note that my oldest son in this dream who followed his dad to the line is not even following the Lord right now. He is in a personal crisis of faith. Even so, he has a great relationship with his father and often seeks his counsel. How many prodigals across the nation are looking to fathers and mothers for direction? What are they seeing when they watch us trying to work through these divisive issues? When I shared this dream with my son, his response was very revealing. “Mom, we don’t need more words, we need a demonstration.” I believe this is the heart cry of many millennials who have been given hearts of mercy. They’ve had enough of our dialogues and debates. They want to see our righteous talk in action, and I believe we can demonstrate it with both grace and power.

In this prophesied “year of the mouth,” we cannot trust in our words alone. Even as we challenge one another to take a stand for religious freedom and speak out about biblical values, we must remember that the government of God is built on the spiritual family. I believe even our current political system is soon to give way for a new wineskin of government that is based on Kingdom principles and not party preferences.  Our unity is a bond of the Spirit, not politics or ethnicity.

The fact that my daughter had this dream and not me (a lifelong prophetic dreamer) illustrates a major shift that is taking place. We are leaving familiar territory and heading into something new. How we steward this transition will determine the example we set and the legacy we leave.  If we are to “come through the right way” we must see each other the way the Spirit does. We must shed the cultural labels that have defined us temporarily, and embrace our bond in the Spirit which lasts for eternity.

Wow! This is powerful!

I am reminded of things like how David would not touch Saul the Lord’s anointed even when he had opportunity but he left judgment to be done by God Almighty while David showed him nothing but mercy and kindness.

And there was Saul who became Paul. He watched as Stephen was being stoned In a mob of violence while he heard him say “forgive them Lord Jesus they don’t know what they’re doing.“

Then there was Jesus who reached out, reattached and healed the soldier’s ear that was cut off by Peter when they came for the Lord in the garden of Gethsemane.

The Bible tells us we are not to revile evil for evil, but overcome evil with good…Does that mean we become doormats? No. We do have a right to defend ourselves when being attacked. My guess is that those that fought in the Civil War, those that truly belong to you so those in need and we’re wounded on the other side and they stop to show them mercy and the love of God whether it’s giving a drink of water…making them comfortable in their last moments…In other words the war was fought the way it needed to be but it was fought in Christ where they lived and moved and have their being.

We think we know how God wants this fight fought…But truthfully I don’t think we have a clue (for the most part) what the love of Christ truly is. He is justice, because justice and righteousness are the foundation of his throne.

I used to share with people all the Socialist Marxist news that came my way so that they would “know“ what’s going on…Recently however the Lord has laid on my heart rather than sharing those things, find and share what He’s doing and what He is saying.

Our God is victorious! One of my prayers has been that there are more Caleb and Joshua’s that will arise believing that with all of their heart, declaring that we can take the giants in the land, but we need to do it on God’s terms.

Brothers and Sisters; Intercessory Prayer has limitations when dealing with someone’s free will, particularly if that free will is under the sway of a reprobate mind that has been indoctrinated by demonically inspired lies that create a fleshly/prideful/rebellious stronghold. The reality that our battle is not against “flesh and blood” needs to be balanced by Jesus’ strong word to his disciples to sell their cloak and buy a sword. The founders of our nation (eg. George Washington) “fought” a literal physical battle/revolution against tyrannical oppression WHILE they prayed. If you believe you will change a hard-core Marxist mob by being “nice” to them this country, and possibly your house, will go down in flames. We need more Warriors and fewer Sheep; in prayer and on the field. True repentance by the members of the mob is far more likely when facing the consequences of their actions than when running riot in the streets. Believers can be extremely naive. Many are unaware of the inroads Marxists have made in this nation and in the “Church.” Pray AND Step Up & Stand Up where and how you can.

Thank you for this. I have been praying for my family to see Christ in me. I will pray for the Lord to direct my actions in a way that reflects my commitment to Him and praying for my families repentance and salvation. For my Christian family to be united as never before in action as the hands and feet of Jesus. Blessing others in the home and outside the home. Please Jesus, make it so. Thy kingdom come and Thy will be done, for Your honor and glory. Amen

This was a very good reminder to all Christians of all races and nationalities. It put me in my place again as I find myself so angry at times wanting to do evil to those who do evil. Not the best response because it is purely flesh. I don’t know of anyone I hate, but when I see evil, hatred is sometimes overwhelming as I see it dividing, hurting, discouraging and changing people from sane to insane. I would never hurt someone because of their evil, but the devil gives us reason to get angry and say angry things we don’t mean. This dream reminds me that as Christ walked the earth in a cruel and wicked nation, He never said anything in anger about those in the world. He knew who was behind their actions. God help us to not look at how outlandish people are acting, but look at how they are being deceived and then respond the way Jesus would. Jesus was more angry with those who called themselves religious and allowed their pride and actions to turn their eyes inward in order to get the justice or results they wanted instead of what God wanted. I don’t want to be prideful and angry thinking evil thoughts, but only thoughts that are praiseworthy and filled with love for the person doing evil, while hating the evil that has taken them. As in this dream, I am reminded that it is better to approach people like Jesus did with better results of reaching them. I pray my children and grandchildren will follow me as a good example of how to act and talk like Jesus and not how my flesh would respond. Lord, change my unholy anger to love.

“Keep your heart with all diligence, for out it spring the issues of life.” (Proverbs 4:23). We will live what is in our hearts. “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ”. (Galatians 3:28).

As Christians we HAVE to stand strong and stand for TRUTH. There are consequences if we remain silent, we really need to stand up against the demonic forces that are active in our nation today. It is very important that more Christians get involved politically, making our voices heard, and of course, praying, and voting for candidates who stand for Biblical values and religious liberty.

Great, timely article, Wanda! God bless you and your family. There is so much truth in this article, as well as practical wisdom for such a time as this. Seeing each other as the Spirit does is so powerful, and necessary. I feel a strong conviction to pray. Father God, we come against these demonic strongholds that exist in our nation and world in Jesus’s mighty name. We bind these strongholds, and pray for a loosing of a spirit of decency and order, free from violence and hatred. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus.

I just keep praying for these walls to come down and we all can come together
and enjoy each other, and cry and laugh together. To love God and our neighbor

Just today a group of ladies prayed together,on the phone that we dont want to go back to the the so called,”norm”, for that wasn’t God intention. We need& want Gods way & His Government within the USA. I believe you are correct there is a new wine-skin of government that will be based on kingdom principles & not party references. So may our unity be a bond of the Spirit, not politics or ethnicity.
Amen Amen

I’d like to say this was very touching, but the Spirit tells me it is colored by the media and what young people believe to be true and are often swayed by.
There is nothing on tv telling young people what republicans are doing that is good and true. There is however a narrative that colors them as haters, bullies and racists.
We must carefully discern the motives of certain groups in this world, because worldly things will tempt you one way to lead you away from truth.

What I gathered from the democrats waving goodbye was something sinister not something good.

God bless everyone. We have a battle to fight between good and evil. Choose which side and do your homework making sure you actually know who and what you’re following.

Yes Lord help us to demonstrate our love for others, let your love for your children flow through us.
God in your great mercy help us to see clearly that what’s happening in America is a war against You. A Marxist communistic takeover is in progress.
Part of the plot is to turn us against each other. If we’re not against each other they’ll make it look as though we are, find ways to turn us against one another. Dear Lord open the eyes of the blind on both sides of the isle. Lead us forth in this battle.
Open the eyes of our hearts Lord— we need to see you.

Awesome I agree this generation is looking for a demonstration now during this season of time. Words alone is getting their attention but loosing them without manifestation of the power of God in operation in many Christians that’s confessing Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. They are looking for demonstration and not finding it in everyone that’s confessing. Just as faith without works is dead, so is speaking without action or movement. Both are needed.

Coming together in love, with one purpose and one goal carries a lot of weight in the spirit realm. Jesus prayed Himself that my sheep hear my voice and they will follow me and not another. He also prayed that we would be one even as My Father and I are one. The world is looking for a demonstration of power. Something that the church at large has not been able to successfully demonstrate because of not only cultural, but doctrine differences and issues. It’s time for us to take the Bible literally. It’s time for the New Testament church to arise again and lay down their lives, take up the cross and follow Him in all our ways, acts and words. Only then can we come together and the Holy Spirit by our faith will His power be seen and results be manifested!
