As the United Nations marked its 80th anniversary in October 2025, the mood at its headquarters in New York was far from celebratory. This year, the 193 UN member states turned their attention from the usual UN initiatives, including climate action, global health, sustainable development goals, and peacekeeping, to the UN’s urgent financial crisis, which, if not remedied, could shutter the UN’s doors.

The current circumstances closely parallel the prophecies spoken by Ken Clemment on two different occasions. On April 4, 2007, Ken Clement prophesied words that indicate the time when hidden agendas and deception within the UN would be revealed., “The United Nations shall be shaken. It shall be exposed. It shall be torn down and rebuilt.” Again, on November 22, 2014, Ken Clement prophesied of the moral decay and the need for cleansing the UN, “There is a stench that rises from the United Nations. I will expose it, says the Lord.” Recent events have exposed massive corruption at the UN. Its leaders are now holding meetings to discuss the UN’s possible demise, while hoping for reform.

The collapse of the UN began when President Trump entered his second term as President of the U.S. with a determination to implement aggressive budget cuts and conduct a reevaluation of U.S. support for United Nations programs and Specialized Agencies.

On January 20, 2025, just days after taking office, the president signed Executive Order 14169, titled “Reevaluating and Realigning United States Foreign Aid.” The order initiated a 90-day pause on all foreign development assistance to review all foreign aid programs and identify and eliminate those that did not align with American interests. The review uncovered massive amounts of corruption, fraud, misuse of funds, and wasteful spending on programs with little or no impact. President Trump’s requested audit alone revealed more than $6.9 billion in waste, as well as $ 2.7 trillion in improper payments made by the UN. The scandal shook the UN to its core. Leaders began to prepare for the worst. Already, the UN personnel lay-offs are at 233,818, with more to come.

The U.S. immediately withheld $3 million of U.S. funding of the UN’s regular budget assessment. President Trump withdrew from key UN Specialized Agencies, citing the agencies’ lack of support for values that support American interests.

Faced with this unprecedented crisis, UN leaders met to explore several paths forward. During the October 2025 General Assembly, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Policy, Guy Ryder, participated in the UN’s Global Stage Interviews with narrator Tony Marcus to discuss the UN on life support and its possible dissolution, as well as the actions that could be taken to keep the UN alive.

1. Further Reductions in Spending

In the interview, Under-Secretary-General for Policy Guy Ryder acknowledged the UN’s failure to produce measurable results and proposed greater reductions in spending for programs that had no impact on the people they were intended to serve.

2. Return the UN to the Original Charter to prevent wars

The one fundamental purpose of the UN, stated in its foundational charter, is “to save succeeding generations from the scourge of war…”

3. Dissolution and Replacement: A more radical option being discussed is the complete dissolution of the UN, potentially paving the way for a new global structure with funding coming from business stakeholders, such as Microsoft, Bill Gates, and the World Economic Forum.
4. On a final note, Under Secretary-General of Policy Guy Ryder lowered his expectations and, in a moment of reflection, said, “I hope when this is all said and done, we are at least left with the UN buildings so we can have a place to meet.”

Prayers for the United Nations

Lord, I thank you for your love and concern for every person on earth. If the UN survives, may it serve those in need with Your love and compassion, giving value to those who are hungry and assistance to those in need, giving them hope and a future. May they seek You and develop programs and outreaches that align with Your values

Lord, we ask that if it is Your will to continue the United Nations, that nations filled with people who know You come together to support the UN’s efforts, and not companies or men who want to seize control of nations for selfish or nefarious purposes.

Lord, I pray for those who live in war-torn areas of the world. Give the leaders peace and the people safety and protection. May they acknowledge You as the one who grants safety in the time of trouble.
