Roe v. Wade was overturned in 2022! In January, 1973, the Supreme Court made abortion the law of the land. Nine months later, IFA was formed by a group of Christian leaders who believed that God invites us to join Him in advancing His kingdom by shaping history through prayer and fasting. One of the founders summarized the agreement of these leaders then: “God is using this conference to birth a corporate commitment to fast and pray for this nation.”

For nearly 50 years, IFA has mobilized and informed prayer for this nation. The overturn of Roe v. Wade is a monumental answer to prayer. To celebrate, we commissioned artist Stacie Kearns to create a very special Christmas ornament. We believe Stacie has captured the beauty and importance of every child while featuring the Holy Family.

Stacie has an inspiring vision for using her talents to help people who need encouragement. Here is her story.

I am a faith-filled artist, wife, and mother of three. I left my career as an elementary art teacher to follow a calling to use my talents to inspire others. By creating paintings and teaching art workshops, my mission became to spread love, joy, hope, and healing through the power of art. I have found that art can give hope, inspire, and heal the human spirit.

I have had the honor of working with some amazing groups of women, couples, and children. I have taught workshops on gratitude, breathing space, grief, and hope. I have worked with cancer groups, as well as groups from churches, women’s homes, hospitals, hospice groups, schools, and even parents of babies in the NICU.

Through this journey, God has brought some amazing people into my life who have helped me develop and run my business. I feel so blessed to get to work with my sister, my aunt, and my dear friends each day! 

With my beautiful friend Amy Rogers, I created Bright Spot Boxes. When we began to work together, Amy had been battling cancer for five years. We wanted to offer people a way to bring light to those in their darkest days. These boxes are filled with Stacie Kearns Art products and are designed for people of all ages. The boxes offer a way to celebrate, bring comfort, or offer inspiration to keep smiling and move forward. Amy passed away in August 2018, and it is my mission to continue to share her light.

I have also partnered with another friend, Katie Ryan, to create Be the Light Boxes and products. A local store owner of Wild Birds Unlimited saw my painting of a cardinal and was interested in selling them. He introduced me to a company that could put my paintings on such products as mugs, tiles, canvas, and many others. Through this, I realized the impact I could make on a larger group. The Etsy platform has allowed me to sell my products to people in the U.S., in Europe, and all over the world. Yet, I create all my own products in my home studio. I work with companies and such organizations as hospices, banks, The BDK Fund, flower shops, and gift shops.

Ten percent of each sale at StacieKearnsArt on Etsy goes to pay for a woman with cancer or a cancer survivor to take the Breathing Space Art Workshop. The money will also go toward putting artwork in cancer centers as a source of encouragement and support.
