I Prayed have prayed
Father, we call on those who know You to go up against the city of the mighty and to pull down the stronghold in which they trust (Proverbs 21:22).

Analysis. As the largest labor union in the U.S., with over 3 million members, the National Education Association (NEA) exercises tremendous influence over the public schools. Whether it involves the promotion of CRT, or transgenderism, or any such, the NEA sets the policies that ultimately determine our schools’ academic and social climate. How did this happen?

Post a prayer for your state!

The event that gave the NEA entry into the chambers of power over education goes back to 1906, when the government granted the NEA a federal charter.

Congress reserved federal charters for those organizations that operated as nonpartisan nonprofits and fulfilled a national need. At the time, the NEA met all requirements and stated that it existed to further educational excellence in America. From 1791 to 1974, the government issued a total of 351 charters to organizations it considered patriotic and national and operated in the public interest of the American people. Most charters expired as organizations dissolved, completed their tasks, or changed their mission. Today 94 nonprofit organizations hold federal charters, including Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of America, The U.S. Olympic Committee, The Smithsonian Institution, and the National Academy of Sciences.

When President Teddy Roosevelt gave his nod, he had little reason to think the NEA would not continue to be a patriotic service organization concerned with the educational welfare of our nation’s children, but as the times changed, so did the NEA.

Over the next 117 years, the NEA changed its original mission as it morphed into a full-fledged labor union. The lobbying efforts of the NEA became so prolific that in 1967, the IRS required (Baird page 11) the NEA to change its designation from a nonprofit to a full-fledged labor union — the only labor union to possess a federal charter. At this point, its federal charter should have been revoked to reflect that new mission, but no one in Congress has addressed the issue.

In 1980, the NEA scored a huge win in its efforts to affect public policy when President Jimmy Carter fulfilled his campaign promise to the NEA to establish a federal Department of Education, complete with a cabinet position. The NEA now had inroads to make and mold educational policy at the highest level.

Almost singlehandedly, the NEA transformed American education into the failing, liberal, anti-God institution it is today. The NEA no longer concerns itself with helping teachers instill in students good character and life skills for success. Instead, its leaders openly state that their purpose is to provide due process, employee rights, and collective bargaining for its members.

Until recently, there seemed no way to untangle public education from the clutches of such a powerful giant.

This year a brave group of congressmen and congresswomen came together to issue the first significant challenge to the NEA’s federal charter. If successful, the results could be the first step in reforming the NEA and closing the door to the excessive liberal influence on educational policy allowed to it by its federal charter. Some believe the NEA’s charter revocation could produce a dramatic shift in public education, in what some call the equivalent of a political earthquake.

Realizing that the NEA no longer met the requirements of a federal charter, on April 14, 2022, Rep. Scott Fitzgerald, R-Wis., introduced the National Education Association Charter Repeal Act to repeal the NEA’s charter. So far, 18 House members have signed the bill. Senators Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., and Cynthia Lummis, R-Wyo., introduced a similar bill in the Senate.

The NEA continues to benefit from the provisions of its federal charter while ignoring the foundational principles in its original agreement:

  • Federal charter guidelines prohibit its grantees from lobbying. Yet, the NEA actively engages in lobbying Congress for higher salaries for its members.
  • Each federally chartered organization was to exist for patriotic, civic-improvement, charitable, or educational purposes (Baird page 4). In 2018, more than 8,000 delegates to the NEA’s annual assembly voted to put racial and social justice at the forefront of NEA’s work. They overwhelmingly adopted a policy committing the NEA to actively advocate for social and educational strategies fostering the eradication of institutional racism and white privilege.
  • The federal charter gives the NEA tax privileges not available to labor unions. The NEA does not have to pay real property taxes on real estate in the District of Columbia. While the organization is not to contribute to political campaigns, it donated 18 percent of its 2020–2021 budget of $374 million to Democratic middle-level nonprofits, which then donate directly to Democrats for political campaigns.

The NEA’s federal charter is a stronghold that allows the organization to be an open door for the further demise of our education system. It is time to revoke the federal charter that granted them unprecedented access to alter education in America. The NEA no longer implements policies that instill character, godliness, and life skills in the 77 million students for which it is responsible. Moreover, metrics show that in key areas, educational gains are being lost. For example, today’s high school students’ average reading level is barely above that of fifth-graders.

The NEA has failed parents, students, and our nation.

The revoking of the NEA’s federal charter would be a strategic prayer point with the potential to change America’s education system. We stand at a God moment to believe in the God who tells us that we speak to mountains and command them to move.

I am retired from public education. I am fortunate to live in a right to work state, so was not forced to join either union. In addition to what is written in this article, I would add the NEA and AFT, at their core, promote socialism. Teachers in public education have no opportunity for merit pay or bonuses outside of the negotiated pay scale. Every teacher is treated the same whether they are outstanding or extremely poor at their job.
Thank you, Lord, for this opportunity to cut off the head of the snake, so to speak, where education in the USA is concerned. I pray for the cancelling of the charter for the NEA and also for the elimination of the Department of Education as a cabinet position.
I pray for a return to state control over public education in this nation.
I thank God for conservative options for educators in states that force union membership so they have an option like the American Association of Educators (AAE).

Our Father in heaven, may Your name be praised, worshipped, honored and obeyed. May those who teach otherwise be brought down and humbled. May Your truth be known in all schools and Your name and the Bible be allowed back in the gates of public schools again. The attack on children has taken so many astray. Only You can save and turn this for good. forgive us for not standing up and for allowing our children to be taught such perverse and ungodly ideas in schools throughout our land. We repent and say never no more. Help us to rise up in faith and assurance of victory in Jesus’ name. Amen!

Heavenly Father, I bow my head before your throne, and ask for your almighty hand to move against this force and power that the nea has grown into. I pray for all the well meaning teachers, who go to school each day, just desiring to care for their students. I was one of them, before I retired, and I had no idea how the agenda of the nea was aimed at such evil. Please give the teachers courage to drop out of membership in the nea. Many teachers fear being sued, if they make a mistake, so they rely on the nea for protection. Replace this fear with confidence in you, almighty God. This evil is too great for us to battle, but no evil is more powerful than you. “ Oh Lord hear, O Lord forgive, O Lord, listen and take action, for Thine own sake. Oh my God do not delay for this city and these people are called by Thy name”. Daniel 9:19. We give this battle into your hands, Lord, as we seek Your will, Your power and Your timing. Amen

NEA -National Education Association…united in our purpose: championing justice and excellence in public education. Becky Pringle pres. From 2020-21 received $534,243 in compensation

AFT-The American Federation of Teachers…champions fairness; democracy; economic opportunity; and high-quality public education, healthcare and public services… committed to advancing these principles through community engagement, organizing, collective bargaining and political activism, and especially through the work our members do.
Randi Weingarten pres., makes over $564,236 yearly.

politics- competition between groups or individuals for power and leadership

Dear Heavenly Father, in You there is no competition for authority, You are the Triune God, the source of everything. Becky Pringle and Randi Weingarten are deceived and worse, they are championing lies. I agree with this prayer for You to pull down the stronghold in which they trust….not brick by brick but as You did with the walls of Jericho. Your instructions to Joshua were simple, as are our instructions. When Jesus was asked what is the work of God, He replied, “This is the work of God—that you believe in the One He has sent.” We believe. We pray. We will continue without pause. We are Your disciples who seek Truth for our children. May the walls come tumbling down. Amen

Romans 11:36 For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever! Amen.

John 8:31-32 “If you continue in My word, you really are My disciples. You will know the truth and the truth will set you free.”

veritas vos liberabit-truth will set you free

Father, have mercy on us for your children’s sake. Bring education back to its original purpose. Help us take back what the devil had stolen from us, our children, in Jesus Name. Jesus you said, suffer the little children to come unto Me. Help us make that happen with Your wisdom and guidance, showing us Your way. Amen

Dear Jesus,
We need Your help regarding the NEA.
I ask, pray, that everyone that is involved in the NEA , be sent the Holy Spirit to convict, change their minds, give wisdom to regarding God’s word, the Bible, and reveal TRUTH.
That God would open the Spiritual realm so they can see the ongoing battle of life and death.
This is serious.
The Bible teaches about, warns about people who lead children the wrong way.
People may not believe the Bible, but it doesn’t matter, because in the end, God’s truth will prevail.
I am asking Jesus to move mightily in the NEA. In Jesus’s name, Amen
