I Prayed have prayed
Father, Your word says, “But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.” May we see our current day with spiritual eyes!
Reading Time: 2 minutes

The words Good Friday has been on my mind for weeks.  It’s a holiday we celebrate every year, just before Easter.  What exactly are we celebrating?  The death of Jesus Christ.  And we call it good.

Let’s take a glance back at that day.

  • Jesus was betrayed by His disciples and Judas following the Last Supper.
  • He was falsely accused by an entire court.
  • He was convicted on blasphemy charges.
  • He was disowned by Peter.
  • He was bound over to Pontius Pilate.
  • He was mocked as they placed a crown of thorns on His head.
  • He was beaten beyond recognition and then crucified.
  • He was betrayed, beaten and crucified.

And the paradox is that we call it good.

I wonder, had we been there watching, would we have called it good?  Would Mary the mother of Jesus have called it good?  How about His disciples, did they see it as good?

Obviously not, since they denied him and ran and hid.

The Bible tells us they felt despair.  Much like many of us feel today.

We have watched our nation ravished politically.  We have watched hate and murder spread across our nation.  We have felt disappointment and despair.  Many have become silent, not even knowing how to pray or what to say.

Then I remember Good Friday.  No, it didn’t appear good that day.  It appeared the opposite of good, as if all hope was lost.  Could this season be such a season?  A time or season that doesn’t appear good, yet God will turn it for our good?

I am reminded of Genesis 50:20 and all Joseph went through.  In the end he said, “But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.”

I don’t know about you, but I have great hope for our nation.  If a Friday like the one Jesus died on can be called good – this season can also be called good.

God can and will bring good out of the season we are walking through.  He promises to.  He will turn EVERYTHING meant for evil for our good. We only need to trust in Him and His unchanging Word.

While you are celebrating Good Friday remember – on that day it didn’t seem so good. But Our God has a way of turning things and He can do it in just a few days.

Good Friday is also referred to as God Friday.  I am expecting another God day for our nation – I don’t know when or how but this I do know, God is good.  And we will see His goodness in the land of the living.

Father, in Heaven, I pray in the Name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who arose from the dead, defeating the powers of death and darkness. Thousand thanks for Your plan of salvation intended for ALL who believe in His perfect blood sacrifice for sin. Thank you for Kim’s Holy Spirit inspired article encouraging believers to focus on the truth of God’s promises. There is a New Heaven and Earth forthcoming.

Enable followers of Jesus everywhere to be channels for the spread of hope and joy to all those they meet in their daily walks with the Lord. Many are seeking peace and hope due to the fallout of violence, Covid, lockdowns, election chaos, and all other happenings in government, the economy, etc. Strengthen your Church and people to shed light of encouragement and hope. Use us as channels to dispel fear and discouragement. Help us to “keep our eyes on the cross”, and the promises of God. “Ye though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we will fear no evil because you are with us.” (Psalm 23). Help us to focus on ways you would have us share our faith with those who don’t yet know Jesus as their Savior. Amen

Father man’s condition was sinful and under Your condemnation. Thank you for Your law that showed us the condition of our hearts. Thank you for Good Friday and for Jesus obeying you and bearing our sins that reconciled us to You. May we too hear, know and obey Your voice as our Savior did. Your perfect plan to redeem the World from bondage was done. Oh what a Savior. Our Risen Christ. Thank you Jesus. Amen Rom. 3:26, Psalm 85:10, Heb. 12:2

Thank you, dear sister, for these encouraging words!
Holy Spirit continues to highlight Ps.27:13-14 “What would have become of me had I not believed that I would see the Lords GOODNESS in the land of the living.
WAIT and HOPE for and EXPECT the Lord; be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring.”

Thank you for your encouragement. Although church tradition has the LORD Jesus dying on a Friday, that would not fulfill the prophecy of Jonah of ‘three days & three nights in the heart of the earth’. He died on a Wednesday [High Holy Sabbath] evening, and rose on Saturday evening- which is the beginning of Sunday. Please prayerfully consider this post on this important subject: https://zionsgate.wordpress.com/2014/04/12/3-days-3-nights-in-the-heart-of-the-earth-and-a-quantum-hologram-of-christs-resurrection/

The second part of the post has incredible information about the Shroud of Turin, which was apparently our LORD’s burial covering. HAPPY RESURRECTION SUNDAY… in HIM ~Santos

May the grace of God keep strengthening our hearts and fortifying our bodies, such that we faithfully keep the focus on what God can do and believing him for his promises and goodness

What a precious word. it is GOOD because God is good. He promises to work all things together for our good. His promises are all yes and Amen. May we all be like the persistent widow before the judge. May He find a faithful remnant. Faith is believing what we have not yet seen. I love 1st John3:8 He came to destroy every work of the enemy. 1st John 5:4 ” This is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith. Again thank you so much for the timeliness of your article.

We are struggling through some tough times right now but I do believe God is in the picture. I believe that we will see how He is working in the near future. Lord be with us, the people of this country, guide us and give us the strength to carry us through

Kim, thank you for this encouraging article. I strongly believe that God is on the throne and does hear our prayers. We just have to trust Him and His timing when things don’t seem to be working out the way we thought they would. He has a plan and will bring it to pass. Our prayers and trust will not be for nothing.

Thank you Kim for this message. It is very appropriate for us today and I pray that it will lift many people up to see that God is good, He has never changed, He loves his people, His timing is perfect, and He will complete it when it is time.

Thanks for sharing that perfect perspective Kim! Praying for the grace for The Body to fix our eyes on Jesus and his words from John 16:33, “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

In the dark times we hardly see the good of it all. Yet we are told the greater glory comes in suffering. Father, give us spiritual eyes the good only You can bring in the worst of times. Amen Jesus.

We are truly living through very dark days in our nation, but let us not forget our Christian brothers and sisters in 52 nations who face arrest, torture and execution for just owning a Bible, much less declaring Christ as their Savior. We cannot be retreat. We cannot be silent. Watch the Passion of the Christ this weekend and remember who we are in His name.

His eyes were set on the eternal, Gods plan for mankind, “who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” What a Savior we have and maybe that is why we can call this day “Good Friday”. all praise be to Him!!

AMEN and AMEN!! I agree. God can change things in one second; I don’t believe that God is finished with the United States of America. I believe that we once again will stand as a beacon of freedom in and because of Christ. Just as the enemies of God thought they had won on “Good Friday,” they think that they have won again, but just as then, it is not over, and “Sunday” is coming. AMEN! Glory to GOD!

Thank you Kim for your encouraging words . Indeed no one who loved Jesus would have called the day of his torture and death good. We are not calling the days we are living in under the tyrant administration , but God is! God has good in store for our beloved country and His beloved people

Just like that Good Friday when Jesus died for our sins, things look very black in the natural. Just as nothing looked hopeful in the natural on that day, so it is today-if we look at events as what we see with our natural eyes. We need to trust God. He knows what He is doing. We WILL see His goodness in the land of the living. Lord Jesus, we bind the influence that satan has wielded over our nation and the world. We loose Your unlimited grace and mercy over this nation and world. We SO desperately need this to happen. In Jesus’ name we pray. Thank you for this reminder, Kim.

Wonderful article. I like to think of Good Friday as God Friday also. God truly is good, we should praise His name. This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!

I love this so much. As a police wife who ministers to other police wives and families, we feel this deeply and have for quite awhile. Yes, we know that the good is not presently visible. We also know it will come because God hasn’t changed.

Yes! Lord I pray that California would no longer be known for it’s physical wild fires, but for the fire of the Holy Spirit, grounded in God’s word. Thank you for burning away the old to make room for the new things you want to do in our hearts, lives and country!
