A new Marist poll found an overwhelming majority of New York state residents oppose abortion later in pregnancy. The poll is very easy to understand and extremely interesting. To summarize, most Americans and most New Yorkers favor significant restrictions on abortion. Even nearly half of “pro-choice” New Yorkers think abortion should be restricted in a variety of circumstances.
One of the most startling statistics is that 71% of New York State residents believe abortion should be banned after 20 weeks except to save the life of the mother.
This encouraging news helps us know how to pray more effectively for the laws to change in America.

Pray that there would be a groundswell of New Yorkers that will make their beliefs heard among those legislatures that fail to value life. Pray that there is a groundswell of voters that will initiate recall actions for on those legislatures that voted for this infanticide. Pray that God would intervene in New York to move the people into action to pray, to recall, to make their voices heard.
I pray Lord that you give us more witnesses to the sin of abortion from those who helped perform them, those who have had them, and those who survived them. Many anti-lifers don’t understand what they are supporting. They have just gotten on the bandwagon of women’s rights without considering women’s responsibilities. Let Your word get out and Your truth shine into the darkness. Amen.
Please correct “pro-lifers” to “anti-lifers.” Lord, You knew what I meant and I thank You for hearing what we mean no matter how badly we say it. Thank You, Holy Spirit, for getting our messages to God.
