Gov. Greg Abbott is apparently throwing caution to the wind with his latest move to curb illegal immigration in his home state of Texas. Today, Abbott announced that enforcement agencies under his control, specifically the National Guard, will now begin arresting illegal immigrants crossing the border…

“Beginning on May 31, 2021, I have issued multiple proclamations certifying under Section 418.014 of the Texas Government Code that the surge of individuals unlawfully crossing the Texas-Mexico border poses an ongoing and imminent threat of disaster for certain counties and agencies in the State of Texas,” Abbott wrote. “To respond to this disaster and secure the rule of law at our Southern border, more manpower is needed — in addition to the troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and soldiers from the Texas National Guard I have already deployed there — and DPS needs help in arresting those who are violating state law.”

“By virtue of the power and authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the State of Texas, I hereby order that the Texas National Guard assist DPS in enforcing Texas law by arresting lawbreakers at the border,” he ordered…

That won’t win Abbott praise on CNN, but it will continue to turn formerly blue areas red inside of Texas, especially Hispanic border communities like McAllen.

Thank you Lord that you are awaking the people of Texas to support the efforts of the Gov. Abbott to curtail the illegal immigration at our Texas border. Give Gov. Abbott strength and courage to fight the good fight for the good of the people of his state. In Jesus Name.

This should have happened months ago! The safety of Americans is the job of our elected officials and those in Washington have been more interested in politics and power than the safety of their constituents. Lord, give the Texas DPS and The Texas National Guard strength, perseverance, and protection from the cartels!

Thank you Governor Abbott for doing what you think will help this horrible situation caused by the Biden administration. I must ask if work on closing/finishing the wall is also being done? I really wonder if our legal system will even support your attempts at arresting these illegals. In other words, once the Guard captures them, then what? I have lost such confidence in our ‘systems’ judicial, etc. Thank you for listening,

    Pamela,
May we together encourage all the intercessors who read this post to pray for courage, attentiveness, accepting responsibility and faith to be central in the lives of all who work in our law enforcement and legal systems so that they will support Governor Abbott’s actions by arresting, incarcerating and/or deporting these illegals, thus enforcing the law and administering justice.

We as intercessors have a moral obligation to pray for systems that have been lacking in the past so that they regain their focus and commitments to upholding the righteous laws of the land.
We must demonstrate our confidence in Holy Spirit’s guidance by being in constant communication with Him, as we appeal to Him, the GREAT I AM!

Father, we thank You that despite man’s failures and negligence, You never sleep nor slumber. You are a very present help in time of trouble and are always ready and willing to provide the wisdom, strength, determination and “GRIT” that is necessary for those with “intense exertion” to take Your Kingdom and contend with zeal for those eternal things of great value. Father, we desire to be filled with enthusiasm and a sense of justice tempered with mercy. Thank You for all You provide and the ways that You lead us to always triumph as we release Your sweet fragrance. On behalf of all those who are engaged in law enforcement and administration of justice we call forth strategies, strength, alertness, bravery, integrity, and honesty to do their jobs to the very best of their abilities, and doing those jobs as unto You. Bless them with insight and success as they produce much fruit. Thank You. In JESUS’ Name we pray. Amen

My questions would be “how effective will that be?” How would we jail these thousands of illegal immigrants? Is anyone jailed for “political” reasons kept anymore for any longer than it takes some judge to release them? Why would we not just build the wall? I am sorry for those genuinely seeking help from the atrocities of their own countries, but just letting them in to be caught up in further atrocities here is not humane either.

Gov. Abbott – we thank God for you and for your service to Texas and the United States. You have stated that you are not against immigration, but it must be done legally and peacefully. We are praying for you and ask God to give you His protection, strength and peace as you do the job He has given you.
