Democrats in Virginia have set their sights on the pastor of an elementary school teacher who was recently put on administrative leave for refusing to affirm children’s “transgender identity” because of his Christian faith.
As highlighted by The Daily Wire, Byron “Tanner” Cross, a P.E. teacher at Leesburg Elementary School, told the Loudoun County school board Tuesday “that he will not ‘affirm that a biological boy can be a girl and vice versa’ because he loves children who struggle with gender dysphoria and refuses to lie to them.’”
Cross was swiftly placed on administrative leave.
Cornerstone Chapel Pastor Gary Hamrick spoke out against the school board’s actions during the service Sunday, defending Cross, who is a congregant of the church, and blasting Marxist gender theory as abusive to children. Editor’s Note: Pastor Gary Hamrick has appeared on multiple IFA webcasts and articles, most notably the Election Day Sermon, and is also Dave and Kris Kubal’s pastor.
The Loudoun County Democratic Committee reacted by demanding the pastor “recant” his “[u]nfounded statements” that “not only hurt our community that he is meant to serve but have dangerous ramifications for the incitement of violence.”
During the service, Hamrick called the implementation of the left-wing gender ideology a form of emotional abuse to Loudoun County children and denounced inaction from the church. “To be passive, is to be complicit,” emphasized the pastor.
“The school board — some of them, not all — some of them are not doing their duty to protect, let alone educate our children,” ” Hamrick said. “And they are subjecting them to sexually explicit materials … and they are already talking about introducing racially divisive curriculum, they are emotionally abusing our children by perpetuating the lie about gender confusion when they affirm pronouns that are contrary to biology, reality, and the beautiful design of God. So, they need to be held accountable and it’s time to step up.”
Fellow congregants were also allowed access to petitions calling for the recall of six specific “troublesome” school board members.
The Loudoun County Democratic Committee on Sunday released a statement targeting the pastor and demanding he “recant” his “inflammatory and insidious remarks.”
“The Loudoun County Democratic Committee was extremely disheartened to hear that one of our community’s religious leaders made inflammatory and insidious remarks about several Loudoun elected officials during a service at Cornerstone Chapel this morning,” the statement said. “In his Sunday, May 30th sermon, Pastor Gary Hamrick took to the pulpit to accuse six Loudoun County School Board members of ’emotional child abuse,’ opening his chapel’s atrium to political campaigning, and invoking the name of God to incite political action.”
“We are deeply concerned about the consequences of such rhetoric, having witnessed a recent rise in threats to the safety of the Loudoun School Board members. Furthermore, this irresponsible accusation of child abuse minimizes and tarnishes the people and organizations that seek to protect our children,” the Democrats continued.
“We call on Pastor Gary Hamrick to recant his allegations due to the libelous and inflammatory nature of the remarks. Unfounded statements such as these not only hurt our community that he is meant to serve but have dangerous ramifications for the incitement of violence.”

I became a fan of Gary Hamrick when I visited my daughter in Illinois. Gotta confess he’s a favorite of mine every since watching/listening to him.

I wish I could give more than one “Amen”. His delivery and subject matter is so truthful of the gospel.
Thankful for a pastor who is not afraid to speak truth. So many pastors ae timid about preaching against sin so children are growing up never having been taught the truth.
Pastor Hamrick is 100% correct.

I have watched our country change din the 90 years I have lived. I attended a country 3-room school with God-fearing teachers. My heart breaks for the children who have to attend the public schools. Pastor Gary, I’d been an avid listener/viewer on your You tube. I was once a pioneering pastor here in Mindanao, Philippines. Because of Stroke and mild paralysis, I became uneasy. But, listening to your expositional Bible studies, I was strengthened spiritually. I admired your courage and an unequivocal display of Bravity of defending religious rights of your congregants. I’m praying for you, Jack Hibbs, Amir Tsarfati who constantly came to my country but, I could not see him personally. My place is quite a distant from Manila. Sorry, I cannot extend or share even a dime to your ministry. We are but poor in this country, with little Pension from the government, adopting also some whom, for quite sometime now, no souls been reaped. Yet, I leave them [8 guys] to God. I also lost my credential as preacher when my wife and I separated. The story was lengthy to narrate. Though it was my fault by disobeying God, who told me thrice not to get marry. Then, the last time on October 1990, by the Holy Spirit, God warned me that I will be fooled if I continue to get married. Though she was a believer, yet, she’s not really worth. I had been a part-time missionary in mid-1980 and been hearing God’s voice, with visions and dreams. Now, i keep asking God to heal me, restore my close fellowship with Him and desires to have another relevant visions. I find it quite interesting that the city can voice their “opinion” and when a pastor voices his opinion they are nailed to the cross for it. I applaud this pastor for standing up for the rights of the children and speaking out! We need more pastors like this!
Praise God for those who live what they believe. We are called of God to speak the truth regardless of what the world demands. God created man and woman and the God I serve makes no mistake. We are to love children not confuse them and that seems to be what our new way of teaching is doing. We are more concerned about pushing gender identity than reading, writing and arithmetic.

I have been looking for a Preacher for a long time that loves and follows our most Precious GOD as much as I see you doing and I am so thankful I just found you. I haven’t nor will I ever give in to those poisons they are mandating. I will be 82 the 16th, disabled and have no one except a niece that helps with getting in food sometimes, but GOD is ever present here and has done so very much to keep me going. It hurts so much that as a care taker for family and others, I am no longer able to help others as I always have. But many nights are spent in Praying and endless tears over how these satanic people have almost destroyed our Precious America and millions of our Precious people. We are members of a local church, but we thoroughly enjoy Pastor Gary’s lessons so much that we tune in every week there as well. Today, I pray for and with Tanner and Pastor Gary. John 17:17 Your Word is truth. Father God, help believers to overcome the evil one – for He Who is in us is greater than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4 Father, hem in believers behind and before and lay Your hand upon them. Psalm 139:5 Father, help believers in our communities around this country like Tanner and Pastor Gary to be strong in You and Your mighty power. Help us put on the full armor of God, so that we can take our stand against the devil’s schemes. Ephesians 6:10-11 Holy Spirit, help believers to be alert and of sober mind. Our enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. We must not falter in our efforts to protect children. Our SpiritFilledChurch.org is very actively praying both corporately and individually. Personally I’m very grateful for the courage of these individuals and will share the video etc. We were able to put two of our members on our local school board and it has honestly been a nightmare for them even with prayerful support. Please continue to pray to preserve education that is actually real and not indoctrination. SFC successfully started a school, we just graduated some children and the school has really been a blessing. K-12, small in numbers, mighty in the Power of the

Thank You for giving Tanner and Pastor Gary supernatural courage to stand for Truth in a dark world.
Father, Loudoun County is a very large, affluent county, blessed by You in many ways.
I pray that You would raise up other Christian teachers in Loudoun County, and other pastors in Loudoun County, to stand with Tanner and Pastor Gary.
I pray that You would reveal Truth to these school board members, and that they would either repent and overturn these evil policies, or they would be replaced by Godly men and women who fear You more than they fear the world.
I pray that the seeds of revival would be planted by these bold warriors, so that instead of Loudoun County Public Schools being in the news for their “woke” agenda, Loudoun County would be in the news as a place where Your children are taking a stand for the Truth, and overcoming the world.

The Democrats seem to believe that a call to action and a call to violence are one and the same. They are not. Language is a tool, and the Democrats use it in the most reprehensible way. Matthew 12:37; “For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
Lord, we seek your protection for teachers who speak truth and protect our children. Let not the teachers of falsehood hold sway over them. You created them, male and female, there are no other sexes or genders. The mutilation of one’s body no more changes one’s gender than attaching wings to a fish makes it a bird. Give your people the courage to speak out and to fight for what is right and just.
Dear Heavenly Father, please hear our prayer. We humbly come to you and ask you to guard the hearts of these precious ones who are standing for your glory and truth in our public square. Fill them with your love and spirit so their servant-hearted devotion will be used for your glory. We are grateful for your spirit in them that has given them courage to stand and we ask for more wisdom and discernment in these days as the attacks come. For many years we have been good at “talking the talk.” But now we are being faced more and more with,walking out that talk. Are we willing to do what is right for our children, our families, friends, etc, whatever the cost?
