The murderer of two Minnesota lawmakers has been apprehended after a massive, multi-department manhunt.

Get prayer updates from IFA.

Over the weekend, Vance Boelter, 57, was arrested after a two-day manhunt for allegedly killing former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark, and shooting State Sen. John Hoffman and his wife Yvette in separate attacks. Hortman and her husband were tragically killed, but Hoffman and his wife survived being shot nine and eight times, respectively. Praise for the Lord for their survival. Authorities say Boelter wore police-style tactical gear and falsely identified himself as law enforcement before carrying out the shootings at the homes of these public servants in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Surveillance footage captured Boelter approaching the homes with a masked face, police-like attire, and a vehicle with law enforcement lights. His approach and identification as a police officer added to the betrayal felt by many in law enforcement.

Fox News reports that Boelter was located in Sibley County, where he surrendered after being found by a coalition of over 20 SWAT teams in what officials called “the largest manhunt in Minnesota history.” Authorities confirmed he acted alone and has been charged with four felony counts of second-degree murder and attempted murder, carrying potential 40-year sentences for each.

“No Kings” material found in Boelter’s vehicle suggests a possible link to broader political anger and anti-government sentiment. Yet, as Yvette Hoffman noted, “There is never a place for this kind of political hate.”

As Christians, we grieve the loss of life and the attack on those called to serve. In the face of such evil, may we remain anchored in the love of our lord Jesus Christ, and the peace of God.

Lord, in Proverbs 8, it says that wisdom was the beginning of our work. Truly, wisdom comes from you. So why do we see such foolishness in your people today? Your people on this site see everything through the vision of supporting Donald Trump no matter what. Trump is given higher allegiance, it seems, than even the truth or to you. Married three times, committing adultery in each marriage and your followers have the gall to compare him to King David. David was a spiritual man, a Godly man who failed. He was known as a Godly man before his adultery, not so with Trump. Trump has also shown NO signs of repentance. But to mention that on this site is to be railed against as being judgmental by the same people who judge any Democrat with pure contempt, for much less serious sins. On this site, the sins of homosexuality and abortion are the most vile sins on the face of the earth. While adultery is overlooked. On a weekly basis, Republican politicians are found committing sexual sins with minors, a new one found this week. No one on this site will mention the many Republican politicians caught in these crimes. Trump and his followers on this site, not only do not love their enemies, they show no friendship toward other Americans or even Christians who simply disagree. Any voice of disagreement on political issues is seen as derangement. Insulting names are given to Democratic politicians and they are called evil. Wisdom is far from this site. Here, a man tries to kill many Democratic politicians and excuses are made. People write, ‘we don’t know the whole story’ like somehow this will turn out to be an evil Democrat, a fact that will not stand up. Meanwhile, though IFA will not report it, the Evangelical church loses more and more young people each year as they see the hypocrisy exhibited in these issues. Lord, may your church find wisdom again, may people truly come to follow you again. But I fear you have given up your people to the foolishness of following a political con man. Lord, may it not be so. https://gizmodo.com/magas-marxist-minnesota-shooter-theory-falls-apart-in-record-time-2000616428

I will not judge you. The Bible tells us not to judge. But that seems to be what you’re doing with your ranting. Unlike you, I don’t pay a lot of attention to news. But I know the Bible states that homosexuality is an abomination (a loathsome sin, which indicates to God that the person does not accept how He (God) created him/her). And abortion is horrible, for it equals murder. Adultery is still a sin. And Trump committed adultery like King David. But let me inform you of something: Trump was not a Christian at the time of those indiscretions. But even if he was, you’re the one who sounds like you’re having a temper tantrum with Christians. There’s no perfection on this side of heaven. Back to Trump: You must be listening to legacy media, which no longer reports news in a truthful fashion, but slants it. How can you ignore all the positive changes he has done for our country? The guy is a hero. But you desire to see him as a jerk, so take your act somewhere else. Did you know? This is a prayer site, not a gossip site. My assessment–you are a liberal Democrat who doesn’t like conservatives.
    My prayer for you:
Lord Jesus, please soften the heart of LynnKub and draw her to You. I ask that You lead her to truth, which begins with Your Word, and may she choose to believe in You. Help guide her to current reliable and reputable news reporting agencies that don’t smear people and tarnish the truth that they are witnesses to. May she feel encouragement and joy in Your closeness no matter what kind of evil is going on in this world.

Lord, I cry out to You for our law enforcement officers who may suffer the consequences of this man’s violent behavior under the guise of being a police officer – mistrust. Please put in place mechanisms that will allow people to assure that an officer is who they are purported to be. It angers me that it could make an already difficult and dangerous job, more so. Please guard and keep our law enforcement officers, and grant them direct and immediate intel from heaven when in danger. May they all come to salvation by faith in Yeshua, and know Him intimately as their shield and buckler, a very present help in time of trouble.

I agree there is so much more to the story than is being reported. There are red flags and questions all over concerning this tragedy. We must pray for truth! Luke 12: 2-3 TPT should be declared from the roof tops. Jesus words!! AMEN!!!

Thank you Jesus for effective law enforcement officials to arrest evil and bring it to justice. Thank you police officers for doing an excellent job finding, apprehending and bringing this man to justice. Jesus please be with the Hortman family as they grieve. Please bring swift and complete healing to the Hoffmans; cover these families in your peace.

Father, make it more difficult for individuals to acquire law enforcement attire illegally. And beyond that, Father, dispel the spirit of ‘hate” by hovering over every person in our nation and around the world. Birth in people the love of God, of others, of Jesus. Lord, I am asking for quick justice regarding what this man did. And save his soul quickly that he might receive forgiveness from You. Thank You for assisting law enforcement to capture this man. Heal the two who received those bullet wounds. Heal not only their bodies, but their psyche, their souls, their hearts. And may they be filled with forgiveness for what happened. Comfort the Hortman family as they grieve the loss of these two. Help the community to come together , be united, and full of love and comfort. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
