The murderer of two Minnesota lawmakers has been apprehended after a massive, multi-department manhunt.

Over the weekend, Vance Boelter, 57, was arrested after a two-day manhunt for allegedly killing former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark, and shooting State Sen. John Hoffman and his wife Yvette in separate attacks. Hortman and her husband were tragically killed, but Hoffman and his wife survived being shot nine and eight times, respectively. Praise for the Lord for their survival. Authorities say Boelter wore police-style tactical gear and falsely identified himself as law enforcement before carrying out the shootings at the homes of these public servants in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Surveillance footage captured Boelter approaching the homes with a masked face, police-like attire, and a vehicle with law enforcement lights. His approach and identification as a police officer added to the betrayal felt by many in law enforcement.

Fox News reports that Boelter was located in Sibley County, where he surrendered after being found by a coalition of over 20 SWAT teams in what officials called ā€œthe largest manhunt in Minnesota history.ā€ Authorities confirmed he acted alone and has been charged with four felony counts of second-degree murder and attempted murder, carrying potential 40-year sentences for each.

ā€œNo Kingsā€ material found in Boelter’s vehicle suggests a possible link to broader political anger and anti-government sentiment. Yet, as Yvette Hoffman noted, ā€œThere is never a place for this kind of political hate.ā€

As Christians, we grieve the loss of life and the attack on those called to serve. In the face of such evil, may we remain anchored in the love of our lord Jesus Christ, and the peace of God.

I agree there is so much more to the story than is being reported. There are red flags and questions all over concerning this tragedy. We must pray for truth! Luke 12: 2-3 TPT should be declared from the roof tops. Jesus words!! AMEN!!!

Thank you Jesus for effective law enforcement officials to arrest evil and bring it to justice. Thank you police officers for doing an excellent job finding, apprehending and bringing this man to justice. Jesus please be with the Hortman family as they grieve. Please bring swift and complete healing to the Hoffmans; cover these families in your peace.

Father, make it more difficult for individuals to acquire law enforcement attire illegally. And beyond that, Father, dispel the spirit of ‘hate” by hovering over every person in our nation and around the world. Birth in people the love of God, of others, of Jesus. Lord, I am asking for quick justice regarding what this man did. And save his soul quickly that he might receive forgiveness from You. Thank You for assisting law enforcement to capture this man. Heal the two who received those bullet wounds. Heal not only their bodies, but their psyche, their souls, their hearts. And may they be filled with forgiveness for what happened. Comfort the Hortman family as they grieve the loss of these two. Help the community to come together , be united, and full of love and comfort. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
