Father, we thank You for inspiring West Virginia to take action and become the first state in the nation to ban these harmful chemicals. We pray this new law would lead to safer and healthier West Virginians.

We previously covered the efforts of lobbyists to stop West Virginia from becoming the first state in the nation to ban harmful dyes and chemicals in foods. Now, however, Governor Morrisey has officially signed the bill. Praise God!

From Just the News. West Virginia GOP Gov. Patrick Morrisey hasĀ signed a billĀ that bans food dyes and other chemicals often used in food preservatives.

ā€œWest Virginia ranks at the bottom of many public health metrics, which is why thereā€™s no better place to lead the Make America Healthy Again mission,ā€ Morrisey said Monday on social media when signing the bill. …

The dyes that are banned under this legislation are Blue No. 1, Blue No. 2, Green No. 3, Red No. 3, Red No. 40, Yellow No. 5 and Yellow No. 6.

The two chemicals that are being banned are butylated hydroxyanisole and propylparaben. …

Some foods that will be impacted by the ban include Doritos and M&Ms. …

I think if people are informed we may not need another LAW to move us in the right direction, but I also remember all the teaching about tobacco and the harm to ones body, but now we have smoke shops all over. In the end it is the individual who chooses what they will ingest into their bodies.
