I Prayed have prayed
Lord, we pray that You direct and guide our leaders in these heavy decisions. Let them cast their burdens on You, knowing You carry it for us and direct them in their decisions.

Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., has introduced legislation to block federal funds from going toward teaching the 1619 Project in schools.

“The goal of The 1619 Project is to reframe American history by considering what it would mean to regard 1619 as our nation’s birth year. Doing so requires us to place the consequences of slavery and the contributions of black Americans at the very center of the story we tell ourselves about who we are as a country,” New York Times Magazine’s Editor in Chief Jake Silverstein explained in 2019.

Silverstein wrote that in 1619 “a ship arrived at Point Comfort in the British colony of Virginia, bearing a cargo of 20 to 30 enslaved Africans. Their arrival inaugurated a barbaric system of chattel slavery that would last for the next 250 years. This is sometimes referred to as the country’s original sin, but it is more than that: It is the country’s very origin.”

Cotton’s Saving American History Act of 2020 would force schools that use the 1619 Project to forfeit a chunk of federal funding connected to the cost of teaching that curriculum. . . .

The legislation stipulates that when decreasing funds, money should not be cut from students with disabilities or programs for low-income pupils.

“The New York Times’s 1619 Project is a racially divisive, revisionist account of history that denies the noble principles of freedom and equality on which our nation was founded. Not a single cent of federal funding should go to indoctrinate young Americans with this left-wing garbage,” the Arkansas Republican said in a statement included in a press release. . . .

Totally agree. Nothing but isolated statements meant to divide, which is classic Communism, and not “true” American History that children need to learn.

Projects like this with a distorted and biased view of America should be consigned to the junk heap of history. The 1619 project only inflames racism and division in our country and sets us on the path to another Civil War. Let students learn a balanced view of our history with a very important word called “contextualization.” Our Founding fathers and early settlers made the best decisions they could at the time they lived, given the cultural beliefs and accepted customs of their time. Therefore, they should not be condemned for their actions, which cannot be changed now. We should stop dwelling on the problems and division of the past and determine to move forward from where we are right now into the future that God has planned for America – a future that we share equally together.

In the Name of Jesus, Heavenly Father, I pray about the blindness of those who have been blinded to the truth, and would choose to blind the truth from children. In the name of Jesus, I rebuke this evil project. Please erase it, Lord from the record of human history. Please relieve of us of this threat. Thank You, Lord, for Your protection from principalities and powers of darkness. Amen.

I stand with Sen. Cotton. The 1916 project curriculum is not to be allowed in our schools. School choice for parents.

I disagree with using the 1619 Project. It is a lie telling us to change history. This should be fought in all parts of America and taking away the funding of our schools that do not use this project is outrageous. How have we come this far, Common Core is also bad. We are doing our children a great disservice. No wonder people are home schooling their children. We must clean all of this up for our future generations is we want a future….

Thank you IAP for the information & encouraging prayer.
I Strongly disagree with 1619 or anything that resembles that logic. Why?
Because that is NOT what happened.
We don’t erase what David did wrong from the Bible. Instead we read story and allow God to teach us right from wrong.
Is truth important any more?
Acknowledge our wrongs and learn from them so we don’t repeat.
Do we want to pretend the holocaust never happened how would that honor the brave enduring Jewish people? The Germans don’t like that it happened but it gave room for repentance, reconciliation and new passion to protect from racism and a corrupt government.
Lord help us Father to walk in your ways and boldly confess our past sins and turn from them and not return to our own vomit. Help us live by your grace walking in the Light of Truth.
We, as the church, must lead the effort to repent where we are wrong and make restitution where we can and boost those around us in a spirit of love, humility and honest strength. Not hide our past sins.

I have long been concerned about the publishers of curriculum for our schools. Who determines what goes into the curriculum? It seems that liberals control the content. And the publishers seem to have a monopoly year after year. Who are the publishers? I pray that godly publishers would step up and demand a role in choosing the curriculum. We cannot change the history of our country. Lord forgive us for the mistreatment of some races and immigrants. Our history is not all pretty but we are a free country. Lord, bring us back to the God foundation we were founded on. Let second Chronicles 7:14 ring out across this land and let us repent and pray for our country. Lord forgive us and continue to bless us.

“Jesus replied, ‘You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God'” (Matt 22:29)
…
Lord, help us to esteem, study and honor the written Word of God as absolute authority that ends all opinions, doubts and speculations (Deut 8:3, Matt 4:4, Prov 19:21, Acts 15:15-17, Acts 28:24-27). Grant clarity and discernment to see through the fog of unbelief, skepticism, stoicism, secular humanism, atheism and other empty and hollow philosophies fed to us through Hollywood, education and the media (Eph 4:14, Col 2:8). Give us ability to reason and make life decisions from a Biblical worldview (Prov 29:18, Matt 22:29). May faith come from hearing The Word in believers across the world (Rom 1:17, Rom 10:17). This will bring innumerable benefits to the world (Ps 119:136, Hab 2:4, Isa 48:18), in Jesus’ Name.

“The Supreme Judge, by which all controversies of religion are to be determined, and all decrees of councils, opinions of ancient writers, doctrines of men, and private spirits, are to be examined, and in whose sentence we are to rest, can be no other but the Holy Spirit speaking in the Scripture” WCF 1:10 (Acts 15:15-17, Eph 2:20, Ps 119:89)

“Forever, O LORD, Your word is settled in heaven” (Ps 199:89)

“Jesus replied, ‘You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God'” (Matt 22:29).

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God a may be thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Tim 3:16)

I pray that the biblical truth of our nation is put back into the history books of our nation. WE have a noble, yes human but noble and eternal purpose for this nation. No public funds should go to any pursuing of the 1619 project. But restoring a better history and the cost of becoming a new and fledgling nation with backbone and get to live free of taxation without representation and the persuit of liberty for all.
God strengthen out our nation, get us back to following You and your generous ways. Lord we have spent years repenting for our forefathers sins and missteps, who will do it for this generation that pulls down our history and replaces it with a hateful devaluing of life. God forgive us and make us humbly receive your grace and goodness again.

Protect Tom Cotton and give him favor as a shield (Ps 5:12). We ask for godly scholars and good journalism, save those in the education system and at our universities and again grant those who speak truth favor and open doors in Jesus’ Name

Matthew 24 (TLV): 23 “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here’s the Messiah,’ or ‘There He is,’ do not believe it. 24 For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up[d] and show great signs and wonders so as to lead astray, if possible, even the chosen. 25 See, I have told you beforehand.”

Sadly, our African American population has chosen to forget the very honorable and commendable role it played in ending slavery in most of the Western Hemisphere due, more than anything else to their prayers and deep spirituality, and may I say, aided by white Christian men and women who also gave their lives, as did our Christ — crucified for freedom from sin for ALL of us — dying to help fellow human beings be freed from slavery.

It is as if the devil himself is doing everything in his ugly power to deny even the rich, historical Christian roots and spirituality and ultimately the salvation of our African American brothers and sisters!

So we pray for and end to the blindness, hatred and division being stoked by the devil himself, now and again through this misguided project, and that instead the light of Jesus and Truth shine ever so brightly, once again, in the lives of our brothers and sisters who are being so deceitfully misled.

Praying with love, honor and fellowship in Jesus name,

Lisa
