One Republican Senator is working to block the promotion of a Lieutenant General who helped oversee the Afghanistan withdrawal.
From The Daily Wire. Republican Sen. Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma placed a hold on the promotion of Lt. Gen. Christopher Donahue that would have elevated him to lead U.S. Army forces in Europe.

Donahue is currently a three-star general who was nominated to become a four-star general by President Joe Biden earlier this month. Donahue was one of the top military officials overseeing the disastrous withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan. …

While Democrats still hold a majority in the Senate, when it comes to military promotions, a single senator can hold up the process. Republican Sen. Tommy Tuberville of Alabama held up hundreds of military promotions in 2022 and 2023 in protest of a Pentagon policy to pay for service members to travel out-of-state for abortions.

Tommy Tuberville is a common sense, great man! Promotions are not trophies for 90s kids, of which I can speak to because I was one. The military needs to get its priorities in line, and that does NOT include DEI and botched operations!
Accountability must remain the keyword of “Government” – and this especially includes the high-ranking military entrusted and PAID to carry out the Administrations’ will.
There MUST be NO EXCEPTIONS.
The documentary Culture War reveals that a soldier had a positive ID on the man who was the suicide bomber at the Afghanistan airport, but could not get any commander to give him the order for the sniper to take him out.
Many lives lost and bodies broken because of that failure‼️
Those who were in a position of leadership associated with that withdrawal should be demoted, not promoted. Perhaps discharged.
Thank You, Lord, for these corrections in our military, and Lord, I agree with my fellow intercessors, in their prayers to You this day, that our Senators and Representatives and all leaders will be open to Your guidance, Your wisdom, Your revelation knowledge of the Truth in Your Word, that this nation would once again be Your Light in the Darkness to all who are lost, who do not know You personally and about Your divine love for them. Father, may all of our Congressmen and women have courage to stand for what is right. Bless Sen. Markwayne Mullin for standing for what is right. May the other leaders of our military who were responsible for what happened in Afghanistan be held accountable.
YHVH, thank you for Sen. Mullin, and this ability to block promotions. We ask that those who do deserve promotion would receive it, especially those who honor You – but that those who do not, would not!! Cleanse our armed forces from those who do not have our nation’s best interests at heart, and do not keep their oath to protect and defend our constitution, but instead oppose the principles therein.
Father God, thank You for continuing the uncovering of unlawful government in America. Thank You for bringing righteousness and justice back to our land. In Jesus name, I believe, amen!
Holding government officials accountable should be a top priority of the Trump administration.
