From Fox News. Gay marriage legislation is one of several major issues up in the air for the Senate as it returns from its August recess Tuesday with midterm elections less than two months away.

The House of Representatives passed a bill to codify same-sex marriage rights in July after Justice Clarence Thomas raised questions about Supreme Court precedent on gay marriage in an opinion this spring. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., vowed that his chamber will also vote on same-sex marriage.
Sen. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis., one of the chief co-sponsors of the Senate’s gay marriage bill, told PBS Wisconsin in late July she hopes a vote will happen in “early September.” But the Senate faces a packed schedule before the midterm elections. …
Getting enough bipartisan support to clear the 60-vote filibuster threshold in the Senate is also a hurdle for the bill, officially titled the “Respect for Marriage Act.” Senators Rob Portman. R-Ohio, and Susan Collins, R-Maine, were original co-sponsors of it with Baldwin and Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif.
One Senate GOP aide said there may be some members who support gay marriage legislation but “who feel burned by the Schumer/Manchin deal,” and thus may become less cooperative with Democrats. But another Senate Republican aide familiar with discussions on the gay marriage bill predicted supporters will not have any problem finding 10 GOP votes for the bill to reach the 60–vote filibuster threshold. …

Father, In the Name of Your Righteous, Holy, Son, Jesus, deliver our nation from this bill becoming law. It will serve, possibly, to halt the ongoing mission work of Your Church in the United States and around the world to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all as the Triune God’s heartfelt desire and priority is, ALL BE SAVED. Father, let nothing harness the message of Salvation.

This country was founded on love for You. Our forefathers escaped oppression of religious expression and freedom to worship You in a Biblical manner. They fled their homelands, came to the Americas with few resources other than their Bibles, and covenanted with You to disciple the inhabitants of this land, eventually founding these United States of America. The founding principles included States Rights to Govern because each had come from countries where governments dictated national morality and religion. You divinely inspired our USS Constitution to protect the rights of the community to locally determine morality (by holding elections for judges and officials) and for the federal government to guard our God-given right to worship You freely without governmental interference.
In light of this, Lord God, we know Your Word goes forth to perform Your good pleasure and does not return to You void.

Lord, we proclaim the Word of Your own mouth. We declare that this nation does fear the Lord. We speak out together in unity and in righteousness and say, “NO! We do not accept this immoral law. We do not allow the federal government to dictate morality for our local communities. We do not support any of these unrighteous laws.”
Lord God, send Your heavenly creatures, governmental angels, warring angels and ministering angels to our legislators, judges and elected officials, assign them to cast down doctrines of demons, lying spirits, deception, rebellion against You, fear of man, insecurity, and double-mindedness. Assign them to speak truth to power ministering truth, fear of the Lord and conviction of sin.
Thank You Lord God for Your mighty strong arm as You fight for us and for the sake of Your own reputation, Your own name, Your own Word. In Jesus’ name we pray for Your glory, righteousness, truth, honor and Kingdom.

It’s really not good energy surrounding this topic. I mean to spend that much time and effort to bring down our Nation. It’s an attack on the people of all ages. God created us to worship him and give glory and thanks to him. Yet, this type of behavior should not be tolerated, especially if we take it up with the Holy Spirit. Remember, God sees everything and knows everything. We all are going to face him one day and Judgement. I heart breaking of what is happening in our Country. As far as I concern. Where is America, one with freedom and justice for all. Only God knows the true meaning of justice, not man. Man can justify what is evil and call it good. Repent, repent, let’s pray and turn from our sins. Forgive and you shall be foregiven. I pray that God will intervene. AmenDewa
