As the Senate continues to work on the Big, Beautiful Bill (BBB), one unelected official has been working overtime to shrink it and cut back on President Trump’s agenda.

Current Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough has taken a chainsaw to the House-passed legislation, reducing its size in several critical areas.
The Daily Caller has the story:
MacDonough has advised Senate Republicans that major reforms to Medicaid will have to be struck from the president’s landmark bill to comply with stringent budget rules. MacDonough has thus far flagged 47 provisions that must be stripped from the bill or revised to comply with Senate rules, effectively forcing Senate Republicans to go back to the drawing board to rewrite major sections of the bill.
Healthcare-related provisions that MacDonough struck from the bill include prohibiting federal Medicaid funding for sex change procedures, denying federal Medicaid funding to states for coverage of certain noncitizens and reducing federal Medicaid expenditures for the Obamacare expansion population in states that offer free healthcare to illegal immigrants.
Although the Caller does not mention it, MacDonough also flagged a provision that would cut federal funding for Planned Parenthood. We’re encouraged intercessors to reach out to Senate leadership about this decision, and you can do so by clicking the ad below.
What are the consequences of MacDonough’s actions? Up until now, Republicans have been using the budget reconciliation process to pass the BBB, allowing them to pass legislation with a simple majority. However, should they try to pass the BBB with the flagged provisions, the bill will then be subject to the normal voting process in which it must secure 60 votes to pass. This move is a huge setback for Republicans. Senate Majority Leader John Thune said previously that he would not overrule the Parliamentarian’s rulings, potentially leaving the future of the BBB uncertain.
Republicans will likely either have to drop the controversial provisions from the bill entirely or hope for 60 votes, an outcome that seems all but impossible due to the staunch opposition from 47 Democrat senators. Senator Thune could also chose not to vote on the legislation this coming week, but that would mean the legislation would not arrive on the President’s Desk by July 4, a date President Trump has pushed for as a hard deadline.
Things seem bleak and impossible right now, but that impossibility should only motivate our prayers. We worship the God of the impossible who makes all things work together for His good. Let’s pray for Him to intervene in the Senate and for His will to be done!

At a moment when we need leadership to be brave and speak the truth, we have leadership that plays to what the crowd wants to hear. It should be obvious that the bill is not in the best interest of this country but who is clearly stating that in the MAGA world.
There is for one, our defense spending. Even with the defense increases, at a point of crisis when we know we will have to make up for the lost years when we didn’t build our military up and are expecting a confrontation with China within months, defense spending is at the lowest share of our GPD since the Cold War. Even with the increases, the defense budge will be only 2.65% of our gross domestic product by 2029. This is even lower than during the Jimmy Carter administration.
We need to stop being in denial.
Our military industrial base is unprepared for an extended conflict in Asia. Wargames show that we would run out of long range munitions within a week in a confrontation with China. This and China’s ship building capacity being 230 more than that of the United States bodes will for us. During war ships have to be repaired and replaced.
Someone needs to say the truth. America needs to face the consequence of these decisions. Over and above the shock wave that will roll through the financial markets should Taiwan and its chip industry be controlled by China, which will impact the likes of Microsoft, Google and Amazon, South Korea and Japan would be forced to come to an understanding with China in some way in order to ensure that they still have access to food and energy supplies and can trade with the rest of the world. Any understanding, of course, would not be to their advantage. Australia, India and Indonesia would also have to redefine their relationship with the United States and China. The world order will flip.
There are the many unwise spending excesses in the bill such has Medicaid funding for adults with no children who work for companies which provide insurance and for those who are not required to work more than twenty hours a week. And if the truth is spoken, we may need to make short term sacrifices. Those tax cuts for the highest earners are not necessary for their survival which is something we can’t say about our defense spending.
Intercessors need to be praying with their eyes wide open to reality. You need to be focused on issues that could leave millions dead and bring this country to its knees.

Our Heavenly Father. I thank you and praise you that the Senate
finally passed the Big, Beautiful Bill 51-49. There was a lot of drama,
grandstanding and division. But Praise God that it went through
the Senate. It will be sent back to the House of Representatives
for the revisions and a new vote from the House. Please let this
bill pass and be able to be on President Trumps desk by July 4th.
There is so much division in the Congress and this Country. Lord
we ask that you bring peace between Congress and help the
Republicans and Democrats reach across the aisle and come to
a compromise and agreement on what is best for Our Country.
Thank you for your Sovereign hand in everything that has been
going on this past week and all the Victories that have been taking
place. President Trump truly wants what is best for Our Country
and for the World. Please let there be Peace through Strength and
let all the needles and endless Wars come to an end.

Lord, please motivate Senator Thune to over ride McDonough’s flags and cuts. Reduce her over reach of authority to be less than that of any of the elected Senators. I also ask that states would be allowed to regulate AI. May all the good aspects of the BBB as passed by the House intact land on the Presidents desk by July 4 !
Our Lord Jesus, We pray for President Trump and his administration in this turbulent time. They are working tirelessly to Restore faith, Defend freedom, and Remind us that we are one nation under God. They’ve been facing so many challenges and lawsuits filed by the Democrats, but they fight fearlessly to restore law and orders. They’re implementing tariffs on reciprocal trade to reverse the globalization… Lord, please give them wisdom, courage, and discernment to lead with justice and truth. Protect them from evil in this spiritual warfare. And strengthen them to stand boldly for what is right. May Your will be done through their leadership. In Jesus Name. Amen

Father, I pray that those who are continually attempting to over rule elected officials and laws that ensure the cleaning up of our governments wasteful spending and corruption will be removed by your hand from working in public service. May they see your hand at work and soften their hearts in reverence to you and to doing what is best for our nation or be removed from their positions in government!

Father, We need Your. wisdom and counsel as we look into the BBB laws that are up for vote. Help our leadership to “act justly, loove mercy and walk humbly before our God”. We are in need of Your input and we humbly. submit to You. for direction. We praise Your name and look to walk in Your will.
Lord Jesus we , the American people, need your divine intervention as the US Senate works on the reconciliation bill. You know what is best for our country. Give Senator Thune and others a divine revelation concerning this bill. Senator Thune has the right to ignore what the parliamentarian is pushing or he can fire her. She has been in this position since 2012 so maybe she needs to be removed and someone new take her place. Is she a hindrance at this point or is she truly offering advice?
Thank you Lord for your guidance and wisdom. Open the ears and eyes of all our elected officials. Your will be done in the name of Jesus, Amen.
Lord Jesus you know the beginning to the end. You are the ruler of all nations. We praise your Holy name. We now ask you to embolden our Republican officials to have the wisdom and courage to do what is necessary to get the BBB passed, especially with the defunding of PP and defunding sex changes in place as purposed
We know from IFA’s article that there are a few options they can take although unlikely to be taken
We know under Trump many unlikely things have already been done as an answer to our prayers
Let it be so with this very important BBB. God we ask in the name of Jesus for another miracle

Who and what is this Parliamentarian anyway. Where does this person gain this kind of authority? In my nearly 67 years of living, I have never even heard of such a position. In my opinion, this person has WAY too much power, especially considering that they are not even an elected official. Lord Jesus, I pray that Your will may be accomplished in the Senate regarding this piece of legislation. Thank You Jesus.
We must allow any legislation that would eliminate government funding of Planned Parenthood at any level.
There is much in the actual workings of our congress that are puzzling to me – as in, how can one person, unelected by the people, have the power to hold up passage of a bill? I do recognize that it can still pass, but requires a larger number of votes – 60, instead of a simple majority. But I guess I still question the need for a parliamentarian, and explanations still don’t answer that question well for me. Lord, You know all things – so please act to accomplish Your will and purposes. Tightening the national belt financially, or simply changing what is and is not funded is fraught with peril – and brings with it polarizing disagreements. But if fiscal responsibility is not established eventually ruin will result. We desperately need Your intervention!
With our Precious Savior, NOTHING shall be Impossible. Father, we pray YOUR WILL over this and EVERY Situation facing us as we know YOU have a plan and your will for us is always what is best. I pray we all stop acting as if we have ANY control over this or other situations and instead stand on YOUR WORD and rely on our faith and trust in YOU ALONE to have the outcome YOU desire. We need, through prayer and fasting, to ask and thank you for the outcome that YOU have planned from the beginning of the world. Lord, do what is necessary to change this woman’s decisions so the big beautiful bill can pass as Trump has ordained. We pray that you will perform another miracle to get it done. In your NAME we pray. Amen
I don’t think the big beautiful bill will be good for this country, for one the bill cut snap benefits and that will effect a lot of very poor kids , elderly and many more food cost are doing nothing but going up .band will cut taxes for people that really need their taxes cut. The snap program actually helps kids lunches during the summer when they are out of school a lot of kids don’t have the family structure and might not eat lunch or dinner at appropriate times. Plus I read somewhere it would add trillions in national debt, not a good idea
Jesus said you will know them by their fruits. The actions of Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough to prevent the removal of federal funding for sex change operations and abortion will result in continued death and destruction. Senator Thune and those who stand for righteousness and life were put in office for such a time as this and should not allow her to thwart the will of the people. Praying believers have the authority to bind evil (action to continue death & destruction) and loose the Spirit of God (courage & conviction for Senators) in such situations.
