Biden’s executive powers don’t allow use taxpayer funds to pay off billions in student loans. This Supreme Court ruling is a huge win for the Constitution.

From The Daily Wire. In a stinging defeat for the Biden administration, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled Friday that the COVID-era HEROES Act did not give the White House authority to unilaterally forgive federally subsidized student loans.

Chief Justice John Roberts wrote for the 6-3 majority, saying, “The Secretary asserts that the HEROES Act grants him the authority to cancel $430 billion of student loan principal. It does not. We hold today that the Act allows the Secretary to ‘waive or modify’ existing statutory or regulatory provisions applicable to financial assistance programs under the Education Act, not to rewrite that statute from the ground up.”

The first case was decided unanimously, with all justices ruling in Department of Education v. Brown that the two petitioners who were denied debt relief under the program did not have standing to sue the Department of Education. The second case, Biden v. Nebraska, upheld the right of the several GOP states involved in the lawsuit to sue the Biden administration, clearing the hurdle necessary to present their argument before the court. …

Student loan forgiveness has been on many Democrats’ wishlists for years, as 43 million Americans struggle to pay an average of $28,950 in student loans that can take decades to pay off, according to Forbes. …

The Biden administration’s plan sought to eliminate $400 billion of student loans for roughly 40 million qualifying Americans making less than $125,000 or couples making less than $250,000. The Department of Education’s online form granted approved applicants up to $10,000 in loan forgiveness, and up to $20,000 for Pell Grant recipients, according to The Hill. …

I took on an extra job to pay my loan off. These people can do the same. Many of them have great paying jobs,. no reason to not pay their loans off. Perhaps they should be penalized of getting any tax returns back. Just take it out of their money monthly like any other garnishment.

GREAT! The supposedly “educated” students need to get their heads out of their financially naive asses!

Lord God help the college students struggling in increasing amounts of debt to pay for higher education. However keep the government from spending taxpayers money on careless situations. Please have students realize they must pay back money they borrow from the government, and no “free rides” as an escape!

I am pleased with the Courts decision. I did not sign the loan papers therefore it is not my responsibility to pay them. I pray the people involved will learn from this experience. And realize that taxes paid by me and millions of others is how President Biden planned to pay for their loan.
Maybe the colleges need to have a basic “finance” class to teach the responsibility of money and how to handle it.

Thank you LORD for protecting us. We ask that you would provide for those who must pay back the funds they procured for their personal education.

I have a friend who voted for Biden because he wanted his student loans forgiven. He has since taken out a loan to buy a house.

I didn’t see any comments here that mentioned the biggest reason (in my opinion) not to force people to pay someone else’s student loans. The vast majority of these colleges are turning out young people who hate America, love socialism, and despise Christians.

When we see these young people protesting and demanding that their loans be paid for them, it’s because this culture, including colleges, have taught them to feel entitled. Narcissists, they believe the world revolves around them. Having to repay their own loans might just be the wake-up call they need.

It was a good decision. Public money isn’t used to pay for private benefit loans.

Thank you God for this decision affirming personal responsibility. Please grant discernment to parents and students to count the cost before taking out loans. Teach those struggling with debt how to get out according to your word in Jesus name. Amen

Thank you Lord, for this was a win for the people. I do think our leaders need to take a look at the cost of college and find ways to made it more affordable for people.

I think the cost of education needs to be restructured from the ground up. To merely forgive debt is not solving the real issue. Forgiving debt by using funds from the people’s taxes is only going to increase the people’s taxes in the future. They should decrease government spending on ridiculous, unnecessary programs that doesn’t help or improve the people and use that as as a resource if they want to simply forgive school loans.

Thank you Lord for the Justices who have the vote for this cause.
The ones that have stood for the country and not for political reasons, but to defend this country from debt and all its consequences , we bind the spirit of socialism in this Nation.
Myself , I have a son that is in medical school , but I have never seen the government being his provider.
The Lord is His Provider and will help him to pay his loan.
Praise be to God!

This is a just ruling, and I thank You, LORD! When we choose to go into debt, it is our responsibility to pay those debts. There is a debt I could not pay, and I thank You, Yeshua, that You paid that one debt for me. Please give wisdom to those who are indebted in this earthly life, as to how to pay off those debts and live debt-free.

Thank You, Lord Jesus, for intervening in the affairs of this nation. Biden, of course, won’t give up easily, he will try another way to get the NWO agenda to happen, but, thank God, we have a SCOTUS who is striking down these ungodly, evil schemes!

It’s difficult when we made decisions that take years to payoff and make life difficult; but…. We learn as individuals to struggle and to make do, to be content with what we have. Proverbs 22:7 ..and the borrower is slave to the lender. It has taken us years to learn this. And it is something as an individual you will have to deal with your entire
life, making wise financial decisions. It doesn’t go away. These people young and old must learn this skill.

I believe that those who got student loans agreed to pay back those loans. Instead of loan forgiveness put pressure on colleges and universities to keep tuition cost and room and board down. These institutions have preyed on our young adults by squeezing all the money they can from them while indoctrinating with socialist, anti-American values which will destroy this country. We see how these small 3rd world countries deny their citizens of human rights. Picture the United States as such and it would look like end of times. Praise God everyone and ask for his guidance

Agreed. It’s all the “free” government student loan money that gives the colleges the green light to raise tuition and fees through the roof.
