Changing or eliminating the filibuster is possible if Republicans continue opposing Democrat legislative priorities, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said on Sunday.
The filibuster is a 60-vote threshold in the upper chamber to end debate on a proposal and bringing it to a vote. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) last week called it “the essence of the Senate,” adding: “It’s the only legislative body in the world where a majority is not enough for most things on the legislative side. It should not be changed.” . . .
Asked about the remarks during an appearance on MSNBC’s “The Sunday Show,” Schumer said that America needs “big, bold change.”
“The kind of change we began to do in the American Rescue Plan has to continue in the many ways that it has and in many other ways—infrastructure, democracy, things that we have talked about a little bit here, child poverty. We would like to work with our Republican colleagues to bring that big bold change, no question about it. That’s our preference, and we will try,” he added.
“But if they vote no on everything in terms of the kinds of change that America needs, then our caucus will have to get together and figure out how to get it done. Everything will be on the table and failure is not an option. We cannot turn away from the big, bold change that is needed.” . . .
While Schumer accused Republicans of failing to work with Democrats, GOP lawmakers have said the same thing about him and Democrats during the early months of the Biden administration, especially in light of how Democrats passed the $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief package without a single Republican vote.
“I look forward to continuing to work with this administration, and I just hope that Sen. Schumer does not continue to be an obstacle to bipartisanship,” Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) told reporters on Capitol Hill last week. “That’s what the people of this country want to see.” . . .

The changes Schumer wants is control, a dictator-ship style country by limiting a republic style nation most likely for personal gain. I feel left out by what he and some of the democrats prepossess because only a few would benefit while the majority is left out. Take away his money and he would most likely change his views. I pray for all our leaders for righteous decisions and to apply them to themselves before going forward. P.S. I’m tired of them walking on my toes so to speak after I lived a successful life alongside who so ever was alongside. It’s only a few who felt left because they didn’t contribute because they only received. Self pride is the real issue and that is received when one contributes as our history shows but even that isn’t allowed in schools along with personal beliefs thanks to the few who seems to think they have wisdom God dosn’t have.

May Your Holy Spirit move within hearts of legislators to act justly, to love mercy and walk humbly before Our God. We need You Lord to do what we cannot, we stand in the gap and will not let go til righteousness arises and the Glory of Our God be seen. We ask that You would bring confusion into the camp of the enemy and this action be defeated. To God be the Glory!!

Sold out special interest Cabal loving Schumer is so right about big bold change but just not in the way he envisions it. By talking repeatedly about change, everyone can easily see what past president is still running the Dem party. Here’s the type of bold change that would help America…. repentance, revival, admission of deception and corruption, jail time for many past & present politicians who continue to get away with crimes that would put regular people in jail. What else would help our nation – resignations or impeachment of Schumer, Pelosi, Nadler, Romney, Cuomo, Newsom, Walz. Omar, etc.
These people have and continue to “not lead or govern but destroy” our nation and states. We must continue to pray for salvation and a change of heart and mind for them while faithfully praying for their removal from office and politics period. How God chooses to do so is completely on His terms but we must be faithful to ask that those who love God, righteousness, law and order, etc. will replace them sooner than later.
Pres. Trump saw, in detail, how deep the corruption and evil is in DC. That is why he was a target 24/7 and still is. He knew about every dirty secret in and outside of DC. The corruption is so thick and deep it should make us sick. It falls on us to ask God to expose it no matter what the cost and that His pure justice takes place. We desire for everyone to be saved. But for some, their window of salvation maybe closing. Many of their actions are similar to shaking their fist in the face of God.
**Lord, no matter what the situation is, we pray and ask that You would intervene in the hearts of our legislators to KEEP the filibuster. In Jesus name amen.

It is important that we pray for God to remove the obstacles which hinder HIs will and purposes. “Build up, build up, prepare the road! Remove the obstacles out of the way of my people.” Isaiah 57:14 We are not asking to wipe them off the face of the earth, but to open their eyes and hearts to to God’s ways. Ultimately we pray for the salvation of others, but they too must choose who they will serve.
A house divided against itself will not stand. In your wrath thank you Lord for showing your mercy. Forgive us for being stubborn and rebellious to your will of loving you and our neighbor. Righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach to any people. I pray for wise leadership, for without it we are in trouble. You are our strength and hope Oh Lord!

I bind the effect of blackmail, and domination influence and loose righteousness and justice in our Senate, HOuse and Presidency and Vice Presidency.. I specifically pray for resistance to come against ChucK Schumer and for forces to be in play to bring him to Godly repentance. Take the scales off the eyes of governmental leaders and help them take a stand for righteousness. Help Americans to stand up for truth.
