Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Tenn., suggested on Monday that people in the National Guard who have been activated to secure the inauguration on Wednesday of President-elect Joe Biden might be Trump supporters and therefore “might want to do something” to Biden or disrupt the event.

25,000 National Guard troops have been deployed to Washington to secure the event following the Jan. 6 disruption at the U.S. Capitol that resulted in five deaths and the destruction of property while Congress was in session to certify the electors in the presidential election.

The FBI has been involved in vetting deployed members of the Guard to be sure that none of them will pose a threat to the inauguration or to Joe Biden. . . .

But Rep. Cohen took it a step further: “The [National] Guard is 90 some-odd percent male, and only about 20 percent of white males voted for Biden,” he said. “You’ve got to figure that in the Guard, which is predominantly more conservative … they’re probably not more than 25 percent of the people there protecting us that voted for Biden. The other 75 percent are in the large class of folks that might want to do something.” . . .

CNN’s Jim Sciutto said that being a Trump voter was “far different from being a threat of violence.” He asked Cohen if he had any evidence to back up his assertion that these people represented a threat. “Absolutely not,” said Cohen. He said “you draw a circle first” around the Trump voters and said that they are people who you should be “suspect of.” . . .

So I guess now anyone who is not a “good party member” is a threat to the Democrats?

Let us be slow to judge – especially in this day of misinformation. It is also important to remember that “photoshop” can be used to alter photos by anyone…and has many times – giving the illusion that something is ‘authentic’.
It is also a fact that a few people who were not actual patriotic supporters purposely blended in to the crowd in order to do damage to the 99.99% who were there because they love America. That 99.99% know full well our nation was defrauded of a legal election and they were there to let our reps know that. Those that did break in were wrong in doing so but they were a handful of people and DID NOT represent the 99.99% who are peaceful. Your comments regarding Nazi participation should in NO UNCERTAIN TERMS be connected to President Trump or those supporting the desire for legal election representation. And historical record, Pres. Trump has denounced multiple times in his 4 year term anyone associated or involved with Nazi movements or other extremists.
For the sake of facts and truth, please don’t make comments that confuse or blur what actually is. That just doesn’t belong on this site.

The depths of the “buried hatred” continues to manifest itself. Let’s continue to pray for this individual.
It’s disheartening to know that there are multiple people like this representative who actually believe what they say. They do NOT represent 80% of Americans but they use their political position to dispense lying rhetoric.
We must let them know that what he is saying is both wrong and only serves to divide the nation.
The national guard serves our nation – NOT a given individual or party! Some representatives personnel opinion without a shred of evidence or credibility to back him up is merely more misinformation being spewed to Americans who already distrust many politicians and the incoming administration.

“Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.” Psalm 5:6
These “reps” know what they did. God we are appealing to heaven. Hear our prayer and deliver us.b

His remarks are disgraceful and discriminatory. The violence was awful but what of the wanton violence in major cities? Father, we pray for our nation. Foil the evil plans. We declare truth and righteousness over our nation. May those of us who believe in you not be afraid or trembling but trust you and pray.

Mr. Cohen and the dems are still on their “smear with lies and hate campaign” against anyone they think might have a different opinion than theirs. It is shameful he is calling out this highly reputable group of men and women who serve our country. Thank you to all the men and women who serve in The National Gaurd.
God protect and bless you.
