I Prayed have prayed
Heavenly Father, we thank you for IFA’s National Policy and Prayer event where intercessors from across the nation came together to worship You, to pray for our country, and to hear Your Word and message for intercessors. May every person who attended be blessed and encouraged in boldness to intercede in prayer to rededicate our nation to You. Thank you, Lord, for all you are doing through your faithful intercessors. In Jesus Name, Amen.

The Government may have been shut down, but Intercessors for America’s Policy and Prayer event in Washington, DC, was not!

Even though the event, held from October 28 through October 30, was supposed to be held at the U.S. Capitol, but due to the shutdown was moved to a nearby hotel, about 100 faithful intercessors from all across America gathered to worship, hear from policy experts, and pray together for God’s will for our nation.

The Lord God was present, and He poured His powerful and gracious Holy Spirit over the event. The intercessors came prepared to listen and glorify God. Hearts were open, minds attentive, spirits blessed… and our desire to do the hard work of interceding for our nation was bolstered. I was fortunate to be there.

Not only did intercessors hear briefings, but after each briefing the speakers were surrounded by intercessors who laid hands on them and prayed for their needs and concerns. Intercessors used the mighty weapons of 2 Corinthians 10:4-5…

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

Called to Influence Government

After an amazing Spirit-filled time of worship led by worship leader, Israel Israel, David Kubal, IFA President and CEO, welcomed intercessors, asking, “How can a nation be blessed of God? How can we rededicate our nation to the Lord?”

David explained our intercessory calling is to influence governments. Christians are called “to possess the gates of the enemy.” He said. “We take possession through our blessings.”

David shared the story of Isaac and the importance of each generation claiming God’s covenants. God’s covenant with Abraham was made available to Isaac, because his father, Abraham, obeyed God.

God spoke to Isaac, saying… Dwell in this land, and I will be with you and bless you; for to you and your descendants I give all these lands, and I will perform the oath which I swore to Abraham your father. And I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven; I will give to your descendants all these lands; and in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed. (Genesis 26: 3-4)

“If Isaac messed up, we may never have heard of Abraham,” David remarked. “But God blessed Isaac 100-fold, which l00-fold literally means 100 gates. God’s covenant with Abraham was governmental, a promise that Abraham’s descendants would possess the gates of the enemy. Isaac simply needed to live in faith in the covenant of his father to unleash God’s blessing.”

David went on to explain how prayer fits in with possessing the gates of the enemy in prayer by pointing to Genesis 25:21… Isaac prayed to the Lord on behalf of his wife, because she was childless. The Lord answered his prayer, and his wife Rebekah became pregnant.

“If Isaac didn’t pray, would Rebekah have gotten pregnant? We can’t leave anything to chance. We feel the fragility of this moment in America. We should be scared not to pray. Prayer is required,” David encouraged.

Faith Funding, Building Relationships, Trantifa, and Media

That incredible teaching happened in just the first hour. The rest of the day was hearing from policy experts on a variety of topics.

First was Dave Donaldson, Special Assistant to the President from the White House Faith Office. He’s working to open up doors of opportunity for more religious organizations and churches to apply for government grants. “Many groups may do good work, but they can’t do the work of the kingdom,” he said.

Next, Kris Kubal, IFA Chief Program Officer, discussed how intercessors clear the way for biblically sound legislation. “We are like the men of Issachar. (1 Chronicles 12:32) We see the issues. We understand the times. We’re here to advise. We’re able to speak into policy. And you’re the advisor legislators don’t know that they need. We are prayer in action. We gain the intel. We gather the prayer points and take action.”

IFA Regional Leaders, Lisa Townsend and Bill and Betsy West, spoke on the blessings of intercession and building relationships with our state and local government officials. “Our weapons are mighty. Through prayer, we are pulling down strongholds,” said Lisa.

Then, Kris Kubal and I had an eye-opening discussion on the newest terror group in the U.S., Trantifa. IFA has a New Special Report, The Rise of Trantifa Violence, which was the basis of our discussion. You can get a copy of it here.

Next, Stacy Washington, host of Sirius XM’s Stacy on the Right, gave a briefing on what’s going on in media broadcasting today. “We’re in a spiritual battle of light v. darkness,” Ms. Washington said. “We need to pray for our legislators and for everyone who faces the public, that Jesus would convict them of the truth. We must not forget the deity of God.”

That was just Day One!

David Kubal kicked off Day 2 with another powerful teaching on covenants and an exciting announcement.

Redigging the Wells of Covenant

How can a nation be blessed by God, David asked to begin the second day of powerful policy presentations and prayer.

He then addressed the 250th Anniversary of America in 2026. He revealed that President Donald Trump has asked communities to pray for the nation and has declared the 250th Anniversary as the year of rededicating our nation to the Lord.

David continued his teaching on Abraham and Isaac, and the generational blessings God gives to us because of the obedience of those who came before us. “God’s covenants with us never erode,” David pointed out. “They are available to the next generation because of the obedience of the generation before.”

Because of Abraham’s obedience to God, Isaac also moved forward in obedience and began to prosper. In Genesis 26:11…

Isaac dug again the wells of water which they had dug in the days of Abraham his father, for the Philistines had stopped them up after the death of Abraham. He called them by the names which his father had called them.

“Redigging the wells of covenant guarantees success because God made a covenant with those who were obedient,” explained David. “The covenants endure because God enforces them. Every generation must redig the wells of covenant.”

Man also makes covenants with God, and this has happened time and time again in our country. There are multi-generational covenants right here in our own country.

The first was in 1579 in San Francisco when the explorers dedicated the land to God. This was the first covenant of dedication made in America. In 1607, the land was also dedicated to God at Jamestown. In 1620, the Pilgrims signed the Mayflower Compact, dedicating their government to God, “Having undertaken for the Glory of God, and Advancement of the Christian Faith… in the Presence of God and one another, covenant and combine ourselves together into a civil Body Politick.”

More covenants of dedication were declared by our founders – 1776, The Declaration of Independence, 1787, Benjamin Franklin’s speech urging the ratification of the U.S. Constitution, 1789, Washington’s first inaugural address, 1864, our U.S. motto In God We Trust, and 1892, The Pledge of Allegiance with ‘one nation under God.’

“For over 400 years, we have a history of dedicating our nation to God’s glory. Dedicating the land to God is holy and permanently changes the land,” David shared. “This dedication is irrevocable. The land exclusively belongs to God and is the highest degree of sanctity. We must step out in obedience and redig the wells of generational covenants and declare, ‘Lord, this nation is yours.’ And for this to be accomplished, prayer is required!”

“This is what we must do,” David explained. “We must…

  • Recount the hand of God upon our nation
  • Reclaim what God has done and will do again
  • Rededicate our nation to the glory of God.”

David then announced a new project sponsored by IFA to help every American ‘Recount. Reclaim. Rededicate.’

The American Spiritual Heritage Project

Have you ever wondered what God has done in your local history? Well, now you can find out in one convenient resource. IFA has just launched the nation’s largest grassroots, crowdsourced archive of the moves of God in our nation’s history.

Every hamlet, village, city, country and state will be encouraged to participate. IFA will gather their stories and visually present them in an interactive map showing God’s mighty blessings upon our nation, as well as rededication events being held across the nation.

The American Spiritual Heritage Project will stir hope in our future and move millions to pray, seeking God’s blessing for the next 250 years.

Security and National Policy Briefings, Indoctrination, and Awards

After David’s teaching and announcement, the first policy expert to speak was Tommy Waller, President and CEO of the Center for Security Policy, a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the US Marine Corps, where he deployed on military missions to Afghanistan, Iraq, and Africa.

His mission today is to restore the soul of the military and give service members an understanding of why we fight.

“Our current military doesn’t understand what we fight for. They’re not allowed to know what the enemy believes. There is no program in the military that teaches the Constitution. Plus, we need to turn the hearts of the Generals to Christ,” Mr. Waller said. “Hope has two beautiful daughters—Anger and Courage. Anger at the way things are and Courage to see that they do not remain that way.” Mr. Waller is working to do just that.

Next, IFA Legislative Championship Awards were given to Senator Doug Mastriano of the Pennsylvania State Senate and State Representative Stephanie Borowicz for introducing and getting passed legislation declaring September 12 as the Day of the Bible in Pennsylvania. Their goal is for Congress to do the same during the 250th Anniversary Year and pass a National Day of the Bible celebrating the nation’s biblical heritage and to stand our nation once again on the Word of God.

Then, Brandon Showalter, journalist and podcaster for The Christian Post, spoke about the ongoing transgender indoctrination of our children as well as the hopeful signs that this destructive trend may be turning. For over a decade, Mr. Showalter has reported on this harmful and dangerous ideology and on those working to end it.

Finally, Louisiana State Senator Valerie Hodges discussed the national security dangers facing our country from China. She listed six.

  1. China’s purchase of land in the U.S. near our military bases
  2. China’s purchases of critical infrastructure in our country, such as oil refineries and grain elevators near railroads
  3. The 300,000+ student visas being issued to the Chinese
  4. China’s dominance of the supply chain, especially in pharmaceuticals
  5. China is using technology to spy on us in our traffic cameras, ring cameras, cell towers, and other means
  6. China is a major supplier of fentanyl, killing 100,000 Americans every year

The senator urged us all not to be afraid to pray and take action.

David’s Closing Remarks

After a jam-packed two days, David Kubal ended the very successful, empowering, and uplifting conference, reminding us from Genesis 26 that after Isaac redug the wells, he gave them the same names as his father, Abraham, had given them.

“By redigging and renaming the wells of covenant, we can reestablish God’s generational covenants and blessings in America today,” said David. “That’s the mission – rededicating our nation to God.”

Lord Jesus, I pray that You will, by your Holy Spirit, give cause to America to become a nation that puts You at the center of EVERYTHING once again.. It is vitally important to our nation’s future for this to occur. Once again, we need to take the Chinese threat seriously. Valerie Hodges was right on target in discussing this important issue. We need to focus on doing Your will, and to address and deal with the Ungodly issues that are so prevalent in our society, such as transgenderism. Most importantly, Lord, our nation SO desperately needs a Great Awakening. Please, by Your grace and mercy, bring this to pass. Thank you Jesus.

This was an excellent article with very important and encouraging remarks and facts. Let us re-stake our claim to our land as we did a few years ago, crisscrossing it with prayers, re-digging wells, etc.
Father, we know the enemy’s tactics: the wearing down of the saints. Yet, You, in Your great mercy, revitalize and energize us, motivate us and always lead us in victory through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. In this time of reformation, we must continue to build with one hand and battle with the other. Lead on, O God of might. The victory is ours because Jesus won it all at the cross. We enforce that victory here on earth, in our country. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
