Has God ever used a rainbow to encourage you? It has happened to the staff of IFA so we wanted to share this encouraging article with you. When meteorologist Carissa Bunge hopped on Interstate 395 on Sunday night, she knew it would only be a matter of time before she’d have to pull over. Late afternoon downpours had exited east, leaving a brilliant double rainbow cast across the sky. She made a quick decision to take the exit at D Street near Federal Triangle, drive briefly north, and stop for a photo op over the Capitol Reflecting Pool at Union Square.

Bunge’s photo quickly went viral, capturing the stunning double rainbow as it arched over the U.S. Capitol. Mukul Ranjan, a D.C.-based photographer, snapped a similarly striking photo two miles west from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, showing the brightly illuminated Washington Monument standing proud and defiant against stormy skies. . . .

What makes a rainbow?
Rainbows form when sunlight enters a raindrop and its speed of propagation slows down. Sunlight contains every color of the visible spectrum, but all colors shine at once, meaning we usually only see white light. But when that light enters a raindrop, each component color slows and is bent, or refracted, at slightly different angles, reflecting off the back edge of the raindrop before exiting back toward an observer. . . .
Violet light, which has the shortest wavelength, is refracted the most, and appears on the inside of the primary arc. Red, with a much longer wavelength, lines the outside of the rainbow.
Sometimes, a double rainbow forms — the result of some of the sunlight reflecting, or bouncing off the inside of a raindrop a second time. That second bounce flips the colors. Since most of the sunlight exits the raindrop after one bounce, there usually isn’t much left behind to form a secondary bow. . . .
Sunday’s bows contained extra colors
Observers in and around D.C. noticed some additional colors inside the primary arc during Sunday’s show, too — with up to three repeating bands of colors packing the inner rim of the rainbow. Sunday’s rainbow was a “supernumerary” bow, and formed thanks to a high number of smaller raindrops present in the atmosphere.
When two beams of sunlight enter a raindrop, even though they’re parallel when they enter, they strike the back edge of the raindrop in slightly different places, and subsequently are bounced in acutely different directions when they exit. . . .
The out-of-sync waves of light then interfere with one another — crests aligning with crests and troughs with troughs in “constructive interference,” and the opposite occurring with “destructive interference” — and produce alternating strips of light and darkness as a result.
The central pocket of constructive interference produces each bright band of color we see in the primary rainbow; then each iteration of a supernumerary band is the product of subsequent instances of constructive interference, which grow dimmer each time before fading away. . . .
Other ingredients for a stunning show
Both Bunge’s and Ranjan’s photos also reveal Alexander’s Dark Band, or the relative minimum in light between a primary rainbow and its accompanying second bow. Sunlight reflected by raindrops in that region can’t reach an observer because of the angles it takes upon exiting the raindrop, leaving an arc of darkness. The band occupies 8 degrees of the sky between the primary and secondary bow.
A contributing factor to the splendor that graced Sunday’s skies was the isolated nature of the storms. The formation of pop-up showers and downpours meant it was easier for sunlight to peek through the gaps behind individual storm cells. . . .

What a beautiful picture of God’s promise to His people. Even with all the lies, deceit, greed, corruption, & wickedness in DC… God is still in control, seated on His throne, reminding us He is with us, for us, and He will never leave nor forsake us. The one, true God of the Bible is still a covenant making, covenant keeping God to His people. His promise is to never forsake His children, His servants. What a beautiful way to remind all of His true followers (with the rainbows) that He is the same God now as He was for Noah over 5,000 years ago.
Thank you Lord that you are faithful — even when we are not. Draw us to you, in Jesus name we pray and trust. Amen
I must say, YES! I do believe that God shows us beautiful rainbows to remind us that He is still in control. I always view a rainbow as a sign of hope. Thank You Lord, for Your beauty, Your creation, and Your reminders!

With God, it is blessings. The words luck and chance are not appropriate words in relation to what God has done or will do. I hope my statement does not anger anyone. That is not my intent. Just wanted to point is out.

Even in the storm, both spiritual and physical, He sends a reminder of His promise to His people. Thanks you dear Father for reminding us on these days that the storms are raging you are there. You have not left us nor will you forsake us. May your glory dispel the darkness and renew the earth with your pure light.
Perhaps the Lord IS encouraging and speaking to us thru His nature!!! He is perhaps telling us He is NOT finished with our country, blessing and protecting us, IF true believers and prayer warriors will pray for DC and all the big cities and those in troubled urban areas, yes, rainbows and cloud formations can seem to be signals from the LORD, may He continue to bless America!!!!
The rainbow…God’s symbol of a promise, His symbol of love, a reminder that God KEEPS His promises just as He did for Noah. The rainbow in the sky, a sign and a promise that God would never flood the entire earth again. The flood waters have been surging for some time in the US and in the world. The pilgrims made a covenant with God to preach the gospel in this land and to all the earth. Also to raise up Godly generations. These rainbows are a reminder to us God recalls the covenant. However, we too must honor our side of the covenant and repent, follow the commandments, honor God and raise up our young as a God fearing generation. We’ve had some trouble with that. This to me says as His people have repented, sought His face preparing His Bride to meet the Bridegroom, God is giving a sign of hope and encouragement to His people. We wait and watch for the glory of the Lord to be seen. The harvest is ready to be brought in and the people of God will rejoice in the God of their Salvation.

It is also notable to mention that this divine convergence was only made possible by the Body of Christ coming together in unity, in true repentance and allowing the Holy Spirit to lead the way step by step. I’m so glad you shared this! I had remembered reading a prophesy about a rainbow over the White House but couldn’t remember where. A sign of covenant and hope for God’s people!
I picked up on the scientific explanation of rainbow formations: “Constructive Interference.”
The Lord is dealing with our government thru constructive interference. This was His sign to us, the intercessors. He is at work. “All things exist by Him and through Him and for Him.” Cheer up. Have hope again. I feel like giving up many times. But this picture renewed me. The seemingly unending destructive actions of certain politicians are being actively, constructively interfered with!
BTW: out here in colorado we have had violent winds every day over the last 10 days, strong but just short of damaging. Today,no winds but lightening and thunder and snow. Look up,”our salvation is drawing near.”
I’ve actually witnessed a triple rainbow when I lived in north Mississippi. I was awestruck at the sight! God is the greatest artist!!
I hope it doesn’t mean that our LORD is saying “OK” to the evil that is proceeding out of Washington (the Capitol and White House) these days.
I’d spent a year caring for Mom until she went back to the Lord. He was so faithful and loving to me, when I was on the long drive to my own home, without a job, uncertain of my immediate future, crying out to Jesus, He caused me to look in the sky to see the first double rainbow I’d seen. Ever !
What I realized is that God hears the cries of our hearts, personally, as well as by a nation of believers. His promises are true, and we must continue to look past our circumstances and trust He is Sovereign, He is our Lord and Faithful Provider. Nothing takes Him by surprise. The rain falls on the just and unjust. The double rainbow was seen by the just and unjust. The godly and the ungodly. We believers, Lord, place our trust in Your Holy Word, Your many Promises, that You will not leave us nor forsake us. Thank You that You allow this covenant rainbow to be seen by all, that we who follow Jesus, will be doers of Your Word, and bring Your Truth to others, and to the nation’s leaders, to heal our land🇺🇸 and turn it back to You…. 🙏In Jesus’mighty, and blessed name. Rainbows are always so great to see. Only God Almighty can make a rainbow appear in the sky. What a wonderful and powerful message that they send about His soveirgn grace. We need to have a reverence about His creation, and remember that everything on this planet is His. We merely get to borrow these things. As wonderful as they may seem, they ARE only temporary. We need to hold on to that which is eternal, and trust in Him always. He is doing things so wonderful behind the scenes. The Rainbow came after judgement. God had been so grieved in His Heart because of the wickedness of man. The White House is only 1/2 mile from Washington Monument – 2 miles from Capitol Bldg. Turn any direction to catch a rainbow over a bldg to snap a picture. AND without a doubt that supernatural rainbow was over the White House. Oh that we had a picture of that. Way back after the June 26, 2020 prophecy, a rainbow showed up over the WH and Charlie said, no that was not it. Certainly because of present timing, this one surely is IT.
Double rainbow are prophetic, forget the science and think about the Creator! The lower bow represents the original Covenant made with Noah. The dark band represents the evil that mankind has perpetrated. The second bow DOUBLES AND SETS the Covenant, a promise that He is coming soon!

Personally, i have had the Lord encourage me when in the perfect timing and had been praying, when i saw the beautiful rainbow. In which i had to stop and rejoice knowing that it was a sign and reminder of His faithfulness and that He remembers his covenant he made with us because of his son Jesus/finished work at Calvary. FAITHFUL!!! Our prayers for those in authority and our nation is not in vain!!!! ARISE OH GOD , ENEMIES BE SCATTERED!

Rainbows speak of God’s promises and faithfulness. He is faithful and always keeps His promises!
We’ve been told to keep an eye on the weather. With all the darkness in the world, I think God is saying, ” I have not left you, I am here and I am carrying out My Plan. Do not be afraid for MY PROMISES WILL COME TO PASS!”
The weather has been strange here in Southern Alabama this week or so. 4 inch hailstones fell in Orange Beach and we had winds one day of up to 60-80 mph with no weather even occurring.
I am taking the rainbows as a sign to believers. We know when and why God sent the rainbow. A sign he would never destroy the earth again by flood.
He’s coming, He’s got this. Keep praying. Keep believing. Keep hoping.

WE THANK YOU LORD. The rainbow dates back to biblical times and Noah. Our dear Most Heavenly Father, Master Creator is speaking to us and blessing us all across this Nation! That rainbow further strengthens my hope and should send huge wave of hope across this land. Let us all pray and give great thanks to our Lord for such a vivid message.
The rainbow is connected to the story in Noah and was associated with covenant. God does indeed have a covenant with America dating back to the pilgrims, the revolutionary war and the civil war and His destiny purpose is to save America and for us to be light in darkness. Let there be light in America. Also the red, orange, yellow,green,blue, indigo and violate colors are symbolic of the seven spirts that fell on Jesus as prophesied in Isaih 11:2 and those Spirits are in us as well to carry out the destiny purposes of America – Wisdom, understanding, knowledge, counsel, might, fear of the LOrd and the sonship of God. I agree with you Nancy, about our authority over the demonic realm, the destiny of the United States of America and our mission as the Ekklesia (the Church)! However, I must make a needful point regarding your comment about the symbol of the colors in seven spirits. The passage in Isaiah 11 is not referring to seven spirits – It’s referring to One Spirit, THE Holy Spirit of God, with the gifts of the Holy Spirit being manifested in Jesus, as prophesied in Isaiah 11, through the Holy Spirit (Please reference **1 Corinthians 12:4-11). I can agree that the colors in the rainbows very well could be symbolic of the gifts of THE Holy Spirit in us through Christ, but not seven individual spirits as that is contrary to the Word.

Nowhere is it written in God’s immutable word are the so called spirits you spike of in different colors with each having a different meaning , as you wrote, that Jesus prophesied in Isaiah.
Isaiah was God’s annointed prophet.
In Ephesians 6 we are to stand firm against the authorities, the rulers, against the spiritual forcesof wickedness in the heavenly places. God does not give us authority. The saints are to stand firm in His truth. Direct me to His written word you proclaim to be Scriptural. ♥️
This beautiful display of God’s promise tells me two things, He is STILL on the throne, not the evil one masquerading in the White House, and He has promised not to bring a flood upon the earth. But I also feel He is giving us a warning as well, that judgement will be coming because how this country has removed Him from nearly everything. We have been given so many opportunities to repent and turn, yet this nation continues to remove Him. Sisters and brothers in Christ, we must continue to pray for the salvation of the lost, worship, and repent as He has told us to. Keep oil in your lamps because soon our Almighty King of Kings will sound the trumpet and take us home. Maranatha
I believe God is saying He is going to protect our children from transgender experimentation, and He is going to do it through the state and local governments. IFA has a message you can send to your governor and state representatives. TAKE ACTION EKKLESIA!
Saints of God, I believe that our Lord is sending the church in America a warning sign. We need to take this time we live in seriously, we cannot continue to compromise and be passive. In spite of the demon infested administration over this nation, we as true believers in Christ need to stand up for what is right in the sight of God. This is no time to be discouraged but be encourage because our Lord has you here for such a time as this to be His servant to make a difference.
So saints of God, keep looking up for our redemption draws near. We must get on our faces before God and do out right warfare against the demons of hell that has taken our country captive. God told Noah, “I do set my bow in the cloud…” A bow? God is an archer?
And look at the bow. Where is it pointed? At a filthy, sinning world? Nope. The bow is pointed toward heaven, where one day a cross would kill the image of God in human flesh, Jesus Christ.
The rainbow reminds us that our sin debt has been paid.

The rainbow in Noah’s day came with a promise to never again destroy the Earth with a flood. Our God is a merciful, Faithful, and covenant-keeping God who never forsakes His people. What He says, He will do. Remember, a lot of the people in Washington are following the devil without realizing it, some are following the devil and know it, but a lot of those in Washington are listening to and following Jesus. Even though there is a spiritual, unseen war going on in and for our nation, we are to never ever forget that God is sovereign, He has a good plan, and it will not be thwarted. Jeremiah 29:11. I believe He gave us the rainbow over our capital to reveal His presence and His glory, yes when over the White House. We forget that He sees everything going on, He’s got a good plan, and He’s working all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28. He has it all under control…Master, Provider, Lover of our souls..Jesus the Great I Am has it all in control. He’s not in heaven wringing His hands wondering what will happen next. The script has already been written. We win!!! One day soon our Jesus is going to rip through the Eastern sky and say, “Come up here!” Those who are His will be raptured out of here. Then Justice and judgment will be meted out to those left behind who have said “no” to Jesus’ Forgiveness and God’s way of salvation. Until that time, we are to keep praying, evangelizing, and keep our eyes focused on Jesus. He’s coming back and what will really matter is not our political party, but our faith in Jesus. The rainbow is a sign of God’s continuous presence and faithfulness to His people. “He will never leave us or forsake us. The Lord is my helper; what can man do to me.”Hebrews 13:5-6. If we are faithless, He remains faithful.” 2 Timothy 2:13.
God is good, all the time. We are to trust and believe He is willing & able to do more than we ask or imagine. Whatever He does we can trust is for our good. So thankful for the many believers that continue to keep fighting the good fight and do good wherever you are. We fight evil with good. It is difficult but with the Holy Spirit leading us we can do it. We must be thankful and be worshiping our Lord for His goodness.
The Bible calls the rainbow a promise. We have been through so much and looking for answers to what is happening to our nation…and the world.

A KISS FROM HEAVEN.
GOD’S PROMISE IS YES AND AMEN.
The rainbow was God’s promise to never flood the Earth in totallity of judgement by water again.
This nation is standing at a crossroads, especially our capital because of the laws being put on our nation without God’s input.
Although the rainbows were beautiful I believe it is a sign that judgment is soon to come. A warning, if you will, that God is beautiful in HIS auspices of Love, but God also says in His Word that He will not be mocked.
Beauty always attracts and can lead to contentment of heart. The heart of the Spirit would say, “Draw close to me, I have something I want to reveal to you that is dark but hidden in the framework of beauty. God will be worshiped by the pure in heart. Those that would do disservice by proclaiming evil good will not go unpunished. Hear the voice of God and turn from your evil ways and I will receive you unto myself.”
I personally believe that God allowed the rainbows to draw attention over our capital for the people of the kingdom to be aware that judgment is coming.
I hope people aren’t going to think that God is blessing the insanity coming out of DC
