We know that the world does not just operate in the realm of what we see and hear on the news. There is a spiritual realm; the Bible tells us in Ephesians there is a real battle going on that does not involve flesh and blood. Oftentimes we can sense the darkness and the spiritual struggle. Through prayer and discernment, sometimes we can see the natural and the supernatural of a situation at once–almost like an overlay of spiritual activity and information onto the pages of the news. It’s the prophetic.
The prophetic can offer us a peek at what God may be doing behind the scenes, or even what the Enemy is doing. This “peek,” or prophetic understanding, may provide a deeper perspective on what we are praying about. We at IFA do share prophetic words from time to time from trusted, balanced sources, as a way of inviting you, an intercessor, to pray into these words, test them, and ask God what He might have you do.
Here area couple of prophetic words we have received about the situation with Iran. We invite you to exercise your own discernment, pray, and seek what God may be revealing to you.
Word #1
“I was notified yesterday [with your text] about Iran’s retaliation and I went away to pray and seek the Lord. What I felt was yesterday’s attack, although it was retaliation for Soleimani’s death, I feel was a retaliation because of the united prayers of the saints. Yesterday was the One Voice Prayer Movement [prayer call] and you could feel the tangible presence of God was we gathered with one voice in prayer. I prayed in the spirit after receiving the news and I sought the Lord on how to pray. I prayed for President Trump and his Administration–for supernatural wisdom handling Iran. I prayed for our troops and embassies and asked God to send supernatural protection over them. I prayed in the spirit wanting to know what God would have me pray and the Lord led me to Ezekiel 37. I was a bit confused as to why. I began to pray that God would raise up an army. I prayed for the breath of God from the four winds of heaven to begin to blow and release resurrection power. Though I do not fully understand why the Lord would lead me to Ezekiel 37, I felt it was relevant.”

“In the first dream I saw a life-sized chessboard. It was living. The pieces were people, not figurines like a usual chessboard. The strange part is the pieces were not traditional chess pieces but they were all the characters of Alice in Wonderland. Alice was the highest-ranking piece and she had many other characters on her side like the Mad Hatter, the Cheshire cat, etc. The side she opposed was the Queen of Hearts, who was the highest-ranking piece on the other side. Behind the Queen was her Red Heart Army who seemed to be soldiers. A game of chess was being played before my eyes. I could not tell you which was good or which was evil. But they greatly opposed each other; there was deep indignation. An official called a “time out” for some reason and this time out was supposed to be a time of peace. However, Alice and the Queen all of a sudden prepared for a fight. It became a war on the chessboard. All the pieces began to war amongst each other. What caught my eye is that they turned on each other. Some of Alice’s pieces fought against the Red Hearts. Some of the Red Hearts fought against other Red Hearts. All turned against one another and there was great confusion. . . .I have been feeling that a revolution may be coming to Iran, like an uprising. Iranian people who will fight back against the Iranian regime. Maybe that’s what the chess dream meant. Although I didn’t understand a lot of what I saw, I believed I saw two nations represented by those two sets of characters on the chessboard. And as the pieces began to turn on each other, maybe that was an uprising amongst the Iranians by the hand of the Lord, not by the hand of man.”

After reading several responses I was just overwhelmed with many of the interpretations. Right or wrong I Do not know. I went to look at the weather and I was I taken by the storm they have named Isaiah. There are so many ways it is going affect parts of the USA, I looked at the Book of Isaiah, The theme of the book is Salvation, Theme is Judgment of Sin, Messianic Promise. Key words of Isaiah are Salvation, Redeemer, Righteousness, Peace, Comfort. This will be a year of Redemption coming in many forms and ways.I pray.
What you say makes sense from the book of Isaiah. This year “2020”. Spiritual eyes being opened up. People accepting the Lord.(The Great Awakening) God’s people waking up from their slumber. ( Mighty Revival) Praise the Lord for all of it.
Amen, the Great Awakening has already started! I pray for all children of God to completely surrender to Holy Spirit for direction in how to pray and what to do in any given situation, along with prayer for discernment, words of knowledge and prophetic utterances. Thank you Father for your provision of every need your children have. Thank you most of all for your continual Presence in us.
The people of Iran,is going to rise up
In 2008-2009
I had a open Vision about a meeting held by Russians and China, there was a 4th nation that involved and were behind Iran pushing them to start the war. Iran was really a distraction the attack was coming from. The others who stood in backup Iran.
I since then had another
vision of Ship With letter USSR siting on the waters and submarine underwater. I am praying about it all

I pray that what Satan has meant for evil will be used for good. Perhaps Russia and China were using Iran as a distraction, but the Lord is using this situation to overthrow Satan’s power in Iran. Lord, I do pray that You would defeat the powers of darkness at work in Iran. We know that all things have been placed under Your feet, and You have been appointed head over everything for the sake of Your Body, the Church. Strengthen Your people in Iran. Give them wisdom and courage as they oppose evil and oppression. Place Your enemies beneath Your feet as a footstool, that Your Name may be exalted.
i believe the breaking of oppression has begun in with the change of government in Sudan. May all those who oppose the Church be washed away in a mighty flood.
In early 2019 I had a dream that I was behind a hill and when i peeked over the hill there was a figure dressed in a black robe and wearing a turban. I felt it was a mullah and when the figure turned around to look at me, it was Ayatollah Khomeni. I recognized him from newspaper clippings. When he looked at me , it was not a threatening look but one of quizzical nature.
Then,, the dream changed to where I was looking at a transparent rectangular structure like glass and a bright ball of light shone within it. There was a wooden building behind it and out from a door there came Khomeni in his black robe and he walked into the clear rectangular structure and his whole wardrobe became shiny white and he broke out into an incredible bright smile. He stood next to the light. I know nobody in Iran and asked Holy Spirit how to pray so I just kept praying for Iran and Khomeni to receive salvation of Jesus Christ or break down the Mullah demonic control. I am praying for another Mordechai to rise in power who was the man of righteousness with the Esther story.
I believe Dream #2 is clearly about the US House of Representatives. The Alice is Alexandria Cortez and the Queen is Nancy Pelosi. I just read in the news this morning (1/10/2020) that AOC is refusing to pay her monetary dues into the Democratic house fund that is used to help those who are running for reelection. She has flat out refused and is setting up her own fund to help unknown “progressives” unseat current Democrats! A war is brewing as everyone is in turmoil over her actions. I read the new article before I read about the dream. As soon as I read the dream I sensed in my spirit that it was about that situation. God is sending confusion into the enemy’s camp!
As I read #2, the first thing that came to mind was the impeachment trial and I saw Nancy Pelosi as the Queen. The scripture that came to me was 2 Chron. 20 where Jehoshaphat organized his army to praise God in the midst of a battle that looked like defeat. I believe we too must raise up a banner of praise to our God as our enemies turn on themselves. I also believe that America’s leaders must be on one accord as many have come against Trump’s decision to attack Iran that caused the death of its leader. I think Alice represents American allies. If we don’t unite more confusion will erupt causing more turmoil. A house divided against itself cannot stand. We must pray for unity among our leaders so that our allies can stand with us as we face new conflicts related to this issue.
Bottomline: The Bible says judgement begins in the house of God. Not the world. So a great housecleaning and exposing of gross sin is being brought to light within the house of God. There is a shaking in the church and outside of the church. The glory of God is manifesting and everything that can be shaken will be shaken and only that which is built on Christ’s solid ground will stand. God’s love is the only true benchmark. Scripture states that is how they will come to Christ by our love,that is how they will remain in Him that is by love. All spiritual things are obsolete without love. If we say we are in Him but do not love one another we lie and do not the truth. There is truth and there is fiction. Only those who live with the faith and unconditional love of a little child will enter the Kingdom of heaven. These world events will come to a final day and there will only be two kinds of people. Those who reject truth in the person of Jesus Christ and those who have fully surrendered themselves to be conformed to His image. Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Amen! I am in agreement with your statement and I am praying in this way for our country, for individuals and for all of the nations around the world. I pray God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
My overall feeling about Iran is that the blessings accrued to Iran in the heavenly realm due to leaders in biblical times blessing Israel, are about to be released. So often what we see in the natural is the exact opposite of what God sees and has decreed. I too see a coup in Iran with its current leadership upended and new government coming. I have been praying Jer.49:34-39. God Himself is breaking the bow of Elam’ – the crescent of Islam – and setting up His throne!
For the sake of the Iranian people, we pray that is so!
Reading Word #2 regarding the chess pieces… I received an impression that A house divided cannot stand…and I feel like it’s the USA’s house that is divided fighting against each other and it will fall unless we as prayer warriors stand in the gap and pray…I had a dream last night that I was at a bus station waiting in a large room, there were no chairs so everyone was sitting on the floor…scattered around the room were these large crates and soldiers were crouched inside. I accidentally hit one of the crates and a soldier got out stood up and pointed his rifle at me. I said, “I’m so sorry I didn’t mean touch the crate.” He/she was completely covered with camo hat the face was covered and they were wearing fatigues and army boots…he/she looked me over and saw I wasn’t a threat said nothing and crawled back into the crate…I don’t know the significance of the dream but it was very eerie…I believe the things that are coming to our world is happening very quickly and there is more trauma to come…we as Prayer Warriors must pray and don’t give up! God is moving…things are about to get really heated…be prepared, do not fear and look to the Lord! Amen!

I believe your dream about the military in crates depicts what I just learned. There are large groups of ex-military veterans that are gearing up for a war — could be citizens rising up against citizens OR the Isis cells rising up from every state they are hiding in. These veterans are keeping their heads low, but are spotted in every state all over the nation. They are patriots! And many are Christians seeking to bring the constitution and order back to this nation. From what I have read, they are not seeking violence, but peace and will only rise up when the nation is attacked. I learned this from a couple of our Christian friends who are ex Special Forces — one Army, the other Navy And I’m nearly convinced that this possible war on our soil could be the reason Trump is bringing the troops home to defend our country.
Read the book the Oracle by Jonathan Cain, he talks about the dry bones and what it means.
Dreams can have many meanings & all may be relevant. I leave you to test this dream interpretation with the Word of God.
A chess game is one of strategy. I noticed that all the characters on the chessboard were characters from the Alice in Wonderland story. In the story, Alice goes through a rabbit hole to interact with all the characters. The Cheshire Cat tells Alice everyone here is mad including you.
In my spirit, I sensed that this portal maybe referring to a war in the spiritual realm. Perhaps, this is a picture of collective intercession boldly rising to the Throne of God which in turn maybe causing the principalities & powers to war against each other.
15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

I have ministered to many vets and they all talk about how the people in Iraq don’t trust each other. Tribalism runs high. We support a missionary in Iraq and she has told how communities of women who have lost their husbands have overtaken ISIS members who came to take over their towns. So the strategic concept seems spiritually real as the missionary is having hundreds of women coming to Jesus as they are finding hope.
Praise the Lord for that report. I’ll keep praying for more. AMEN SO BE IT.
I to have been awakened at 3AM but was not sure what I was to pray for. I prayed for the President, Vice President, the cabinet, and for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for their safety and also divine direction for them. Yes, the present day church is like the dry bones, but God can resurrect it.
WE are praying for God to raise up the Church/ Body of Christ across the nations but especially in our nation as His people…righteous people of integrity love, mercy, driven not by corruption, revenge, self-gain, merciless, or any evil but people seeking to obey and trust, honor Him in all situations and circumstances… A people who will encourage, build up others to know Him, to live for Him, a people obedient to the Lord, ” Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit ; says the Lord Almighty” . (Zech 4:6). In the name of Jesus!
Yes. Agreed. 3 am is a very spiritual time. It is the time the covens begin to cast their spells. When we wake at that time, it is God telling us He has something for us to pray about.
I agree about about the interpretation of Ezekiel 37 of the need for the church in all nations, to come back to its place of relationship with God and intercession. My prayer is also that these events lead to the salvation of many Iranians
I also am feeling that the chessboard image is picturing what is going on in our country between the conservatives and the liberals. God is presenting these pictures to help us pray specifically for all of these issues. He uses one image to cover several areas we need to pray for. Pray as His Spirit leads.
I stand in agreement with all intercessors who are praying for Iranians to turn to the true Savior, Jesus Christ. I pray for God to help them as they discern what to believe, that Godly wisdom lead them in truth. May the truth of the living Word, Jesus Christ, Savior to all be made known to them. I pray to the Lord, that His written and spoken Word be available to all who seek salvation and God’s truth. I pray for the Iranians and all those who seek this truth throughout the middle east to follow the peace of God in their hearts as they turn to God and come to know Him. Lord, protect them and help them to discern your love and truth from evil and deception. May your revelation knowledge open their eyes of umderstanding. Renew their minds Lord to line up with Your Word because it was from the beginning.
I pray they come to know God by the power of the Holy Spirit. May your Spirit engulf each one who seeks the truth. Come Holy Spirit, fill the atmosphere wherever these new believers are. May your love, truth and salvation spread amidst the chaos that is all around them. Lord God almighty, lead each one who seeks the truth to know You as the good God that you. May they come to know you with joy in their heart, as your yoke is easy and your burden is light. You already paid the price for the sins of all the world.
May each person who turns to you Lord Jesus start planting seeds of faith because nothing can stop the truth from setting the captives free. May each one accept You not only as Savior but as Lord of their lives because we all need to follow your ways Lord Jesus. Your ways are higher than our own. May each one seek to do your will.
Jesus, You are the way, the truth and the life. Shine your light on them in the these dark days so they know beyond a shaddow of a doubt what path to take.

I have been shown for many years (2000) to pray for the Persians in Iran as descendants of Queen Esther. Thus Esther and Mordecai and the removal of a Haman are very relevant at this time. A confirmation for me is the Sight and Sound Theater in Pennsylvania that will be doing Esther this year.

That’s very interesting! I don’t know if many people are aware of the fact that Iran was a Persian country up until recently. The people are largely Persian! And persecuted for it. In college, I had a female classmate who is an Iranian. She lived in Tehran. She came to America for education and was terrified at the thought of ever having to go back. She said they would kill her the moment she stepped off the plane because she was a woman who dared to be educated. She is Persian. She always dreaded getting phone calls from her family because they usually involved someone, usually a male relative, having been hauled off to prison for being Persian. The Iranian people are largely held hostage and need to be prayed for.

As I prayed through the 2nd dream, I heard “Let My people go!” and had an image of pharaoh(s) restricting (or forbidding) people to worship the one true God (Exodus 5:1, 7:16). I felt the in-fighting represented both nations (& possibly even disunity in the church body), the up-rising of revolution in Iran, as well as the in-fighting in the U.S. through the media & partisan opposition of our president. Felt that all of this is a war over worship, at it’s core.
While reading and praying through one of my devotionals, the Lord gave me the Scripture in Zechariah 4. He then told me that indeed this is a spiritual battle that is being fought. Then He said that: “It is not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of Hosts.” As we continue to pray for our leaders that God will give them divine strategy, I believe they will see the hand of God move in behalf of both nations.
I have been led to pray the Lord’s Prayer, and to stress on the part ‘thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.’I prayed ,Lord Jesus let your good and perfect will be done for these United States of America’. I also am reminded of Isaiah 41:10, this is my ‘go to’ verse when doubt/ fear set in.

Wowee I understand now the uneasiness I have been feeling. So right about the blinded church it is absolutely astounding. The church has been lulled to sleep. Thanks for these eye opening prayers. Pray for the church worldwide, to assemble in Spirit, as the evidence of spiritual warfare materializes on the earth. We are warriors of a Living and Loving God who serve at His Will. He leads according to His Will, we
follow His instructions. The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil. He hates pride, arrogance, evil ways, and deceitful talking.
At Soleimani’s funeral there was a stampede which killed dozens of people. I was reminded of when Jesus cast the legion of demons out of the mad man who went into the pigs who stampeded into the sea and died. I felt there was a release of the demons which had influenced Soleimani at his funeral. We may want to address this as well.

Wow that’s a great revelation Rose. What came to my mind was Jezebel being thrown down by Jehu and trampled to death. In the Bible Jezebel was a female, but as she is talked about often nowadays referred to as “the Jezebel spirit” has no gender. Iran may have seen Jezebel thrown down. Jezebel rules through control and manipulation for power and that sounds alot like Iran to me. If that is so, it could only mean let the Jehu’s arise with the zeal of the Lord! What if that stampede had a greater significance than we know?
God knows.
In His love and wisdom, it is becoming clear to me that everything…especially the things we take for granted… such as the freedom to pray…has a greater significance than we know. God is opening the heavenlies. May we be willing at all times…opening ourselves to Him. Lord, in the name of Jesus keep us Alert and Obedient. Amen
Amen. I set the alarm on my phone to remind me to pray everyday at noon and at 9:00 pm for another “Miracle at Dunkirk”.
Ana, I will join you at 9 praying for the believers in Iran, North Korea, China etc. Praying for their strength and comfort but also for their testimony to come out and strengthen others. Also that we relatively safe & comfortable believers would hear and be challenged. Also that they’d have their own “dry bones coming alive” because there is no place on earth where the church not been at some point in history. I’m even praying the strengthening of righteousness in orbit over the earth since the gospel is among the satellites and has been spoken on the International Space Station.
Surely it seems plain that these two nations are Iran and America?
The inward fighting in both nations going on between those who want religious freedom to worship and teach about the true and living God.
And those who want the communist/socialist type government of complete control which represses the freedoms God has granted us.
The inward fighting we see and hear about every day in the news media in both countries.
Demonic forces in high places causing eyes to be blinded and ears to be stopped from knowing and receiving God’s word of truth.
The battle that rages around the world.
May our God touch their eyes and ears with the healing salve of revelation knowledge, understanding of His Truth and salvation, and their hearts be open to Jesus Christ as Lord.
May we see internal revival and unity come in and thru Jesus Christ our Lord. In both countries. We serve an awesome God!

Amen! The Chess Board is very relevant! I had a dream of a Chess Board during the last election in the White House & God was placing everyone of His choice on the board! God is sovereign! His timing is oh so perfect!
Does anyone know that there was a 4.9 earthquake in Iran?
TWO earthquakes–and they were near the nuclear facility.
Earthquakes shake the very foundations of everything, including cities and societies and much more.. And could it be also a prophetic symbol of the war waging for control in the natural? The fact that these earthquakes are so near nuclear facilities is a sobering reminder to pray!!!
About five years before the towers fell, I had a vivid prophetic dream in which I stood on the opposite shore looking at downtown Manhattan. Suddenly, a great earthquake came and shook the ground so violently that the two towers crumbled and fell. I never imagined that I would actually live to see a prophetic fulfillment of that very dream. (Sadly, I watched in horror when the Twin Towers fell.) War was being waged naturally and in the spirit realm!
The enemy is indeed waging war on all fronts in the battle for not just this nation, but the world!!!
The stakes are very high indeed. And we need God-led leadership, upheld by the prayers of the saints to thwart the enemies’ plans…and that their “strategic chess game” would instead be a muddle of confusion and where they turn on one another instead”!

Amen. I too have been awakened in the wee hours of the morning to pray, intercede for our nation and leaders. The Pray for America Bible is a blessing in that I feel connected to all the other Intercessors also praying, with one purpose, one heart, oneness of seeking the Fathers Heart in these times we are living in. When was the earthquake?
The day and near the time of the missile attack. Within hours of each other, there were the missile attacks, a downed Ukrainian plane near Tehran, and 2 earthquakes near one of the nuclear facilities (it was reported that officials believe it was a naturally-caused quake (God?) )
Hmmm.that is interesting..
It could just as easily have been a God-caused disruption in their abilities using their own resources as in what happened in North Korea
I read in an Israeli newspaper that I follow that the downed Ukrainian plane happened the day after Ukraine announced to the UN (I think it was) that it will no longer support the idea of a Palestinian nation/people.
God has been getting me up at 2:00 a.m. for over a year now. He has been leading me to pray Ezekiel 37 over his church telling His church to come to life rather than the dry bones. It has been very powerful. I also make declarations from the Book of Revelation and Psalms declaring God’s power and plan.
Janet Wade – Wow. That is exactly what I got about Ezekiel 37. It’s to pray over the Church – for the Church to come back to life. It seems there is only a remnant of us who are truly interceding. It’s time for these dry bones to LIVE. (I, too, have been regularly waking up to pray at 3am for the last year.)
Yes, me too on the dry bones representing people (Christians as well as Jews) who will rise up to fulfill a calling to be ‘alive and passionate’ in Christ, and not ‘dry and dead’ anymore!
I have to get up for my job extra early than most people, but I set my alarm 30 minutes before I have to start getting ready so that I can pray and spend time with the Lord. Usually its around 3 or 3:30 a.m. Starting your day with God is awesome!
Ezekiel 37 seems to be the common theme. I pray that often for the church in the US. God is truly speaking. So exciting to see how God is bringing intercessors together.
