This week, the President signed an EO giving DOGE even more power. Now, the department will meet with agency heads to review “contracting policies, procedures, and personnel.”

From The Daily Wire. President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Wednesday to ā€œfurther reign in government waste and officially implementā€ the Department of Government Efficiencyā€™s ā€œcost efficiency initiative.ā€

The order requires each agency head to work directly with the DOGE team to identify where government contracts and grants can be terminated or modified. The new process, which ā€œshall commence immediately,ā€ aims to reduce federal government spending or ā€œreallocate spending to promote efficiency and advance the policiesā€ of the Trump administration.

Trump signed the order after holding the first cabinet meeting of his new administration, during which his senior adviser, Elon Musk, who influences DOGEā€™s actions, spoke at length about the departmentā€™s goals. …

… The order requires ā€œEach Agency Head, in consultation with the agencyā€™s DOGE Team Lead, [to] conduct a comprehensive review of each agencyā€™s contracting policies, procedures, and personnel.ā€

According to the presidentā€™s order, the DOGE team will then give the DOGE administrator ā€œa monthly informational report on contracting activitiesā€ that includes ā€œall payment justifications provided pursuant to that process, to the extent consistent with law.ā€ …

I am torn. I was an employee of the federal government for over 30 years but have been retired for over 2 years. There were many good people that I worked with. I do understand that this country is like a family that must adjust their spending because they have been spending well above their means for far too long. It is difficult to prioritize spending to only the most necessary. However, I do feel for the good people that will be hurt through no fault of their own.

Lord, open the eyes of the citizens who are being told that DOGE is infringing of Americans freedoms. In Jesus’ name.
I live in the Detroit area where one of the state representatives is holding town hall meetings to point out what he is saying this infringement. I have heard that the meetings are being funding by Soros.
This is an accounting procedure to cut waste and get rid of fraud. I want our country to get out of debt.

No one has ever said that the work of DOGE under Elon Musk would be pleasant. However many of the hiring decisions under Biden was leading our country toward financial ruin. Something has to be done to correct the problem. Hard decisions have to be made to be able to seen the beginnings of a turn around in our nation. If we truly want God to be in charge of this correction, then we must pray daily for wisdom for our government leaders.
