I Prayed have prayed
Heavenly Father, we lift up the parents and grandparents of children captured by the LGBTQ ideology. Give them wisdom, grace and hope to stand in the gap for their children before Your throne of grace.
Reading Time: 5 minutes

As the parent of an adult child who claims to be transgender, my heart grieved for Elon Musk when I saw his interview with Dr. Jordan Peterson. The pain on his face and in his voice was all too familiar to me. And when he said, “I’ve lost my son. My son, Xavier, is dead, killed by the ‘woke mind’ virus,” I understood his grief and despair.

I’ve spoken and prayed with Christian parents and grandparents who suffer from the pain and grief of losing their child to the LGBTQ agenda. Whether gay, non-binary, or trans, we have the added grief of knowing that our children are in rebellion to God and have rejected His truth.

Our love and obedience to Christ are often severely tested. We love our children but must reject their sinful choices. As we earnestly pray for our children to repent and accept God’s mercy, grace, and love for healing and restoration to their true identity, which is in Christ… WILL YOU PRAY FOR US?

  1. Pray for the heartbreak of the decisions their children have made.

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3).

Lord, show these parents and grandparents the path forward. Help them to turn their feelings of sadness, confusion, anger, and rejection over to You. Heal their hearts of these difficult emotions and fill them with your peace and love. Encourage them when they feel overwhelmed by the decisions their children are making. Draw them closer to You and to Your Word, to Your promises and lovingkindness. Remind them to cast this burden upon You, knowing You love their children more than they ever could.

  1. Pray for protection against fear and despair.

It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed (Deuteronomy 31:8).

Lord, help them to hold fast to Your sovereign goodness and wisdom. Protect them from the spirit of fear and despair. Give them courage every day to speak the truth in love. We know that nothing is impossible for you, and that includes the complete healing of the mind, body, soul, and spirit of these children. Transform these parents and grandparents into prayer warriors who never tire of praying for their children.  When they grow weary, send the Holy Spirit to pray in Your name on our behalf. Remind them of Your many promises to save, protect, and restore their children to You. Banish all doubt from their minds and hearts.

  1. Pray for steadfastness in the battle for their children.

But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31).

Lord, give them strength to honor You no matter the circumstances and the demands for acceptance their children place on them. May these parents and grandparents never dishonor You or bow to the LGBTQ lies. Help them to hold fast to Your truth because Your truth will set their children free from Satan’s lies and shackles of sin. They may be the only voice of truth their children hear. Empower them through Your Holy Spirit to never waver from Your truth, even though it may come at a terrible cost to their families. Help them to love their children on Your terms, standing for what You call right and for what You call true, not for what the world says is right and true. Give them peace and assurance that they have spoken to their children in the fullness of truth, which is the only path of parental love. Help them to be the parents You would desire for their child, which may not be the parent their child wants them to be.

  1. Pray for wisdom and compassion when dealing with their children.

But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him (James 1:5).

Lord, may the Holy Spirit empower parents and grandparents to speak the words of truth our children need to hear. Guide them to say Your loving, truthful words their children need to hear which will lead them back to the truth of their Creator. In tense and difficult moments, give them the grace to always respond in love to whatever slings and arrows and hurtful words their children say in their confusion and anger. Protect their wounded hearts against their child’s anger and accusations that they’re being unloving and unkind because they will not affirm their child’s sin.

  1. Pray for parents and grandparents who are estranged from their children.

I will restore to you the years the locusts have eaten… and you will praise the name of the Lord your God, who has worked wonders for you (Joel 2:25-26).

Father, we lift up parents and grandparents who are estranged from these children due to this struggle. Ease the pain of this separation. Fill the empty places in their hearts and homes with the presence of the Holy Spirit. Help them to press on with their everyday lives, with broken-hearted but unconquerable joy, denying Satan his desire to destroy them.  May they walk this difficult path triumphant in Jesus.

  1. Pray against condemnation.

Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. (1 Peter 3:15).

Lord, sustain these parents and grandparents when condemnation and judgment from secular friends and family members rain down on them for not accepting and embracing their children as gay or trans. Give them the strength and words to respond lovingly with holy truth and be a witness for the love of Jesus to heal their children of sin. Let their walk with you be a shining light to others of your grace, your strength, your wisdom, and your truth.

  1. Pray that parents and grandparents would live in God’s hope.

I keep watch for the Lord. I wait in hope for God my Savior; my God will hear me (Micah 7:7).

Lord, open their hearts to the holy lessons you would have them learn from this trial. Thank You for how You are transforming lives as You walk with these parents and grandparents on this difficult journey. Show them how to glory in this suffering because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. Keep hope ever before them. Give them a glorious vision of their children restored to wholeness in Christ and rejoicing before God, who rescued them from their sin. We ask all this in the glorious name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer, who died for all for the forgiveness of sins. Amen.

yes, the battle is the Lord’s and it is a spiritual battle – satan trying to destroy what God has created – us! “We are His (God’s) children, the sheep of His pasture. It is He who has made us and not we ourselves.” So we fight a spiritual battle with spiritual weapons, the “sword of the Spirit” (which is the Word of God) and prayer. God said, “It is not by might, not by power, but by My Spirit” – trusting Him to save our children. “With God all things are possible.” post -“living a lie” – at http://www.mtothe5th.wordpress.com

Dearest Heavenly Father: I pray for all of these parents and grandparents to have the courage of their convictions. That they will renew their minds daily with your word and strengthening promises knowing that our faith during trials worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. James 1:3 and 4. I pray your perfect peace that surpasses understanding as they stand strong on your word which you will reward. Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted among the rivers of water, bringing forth his fruit in his season. His leaf also shall not wither and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Psalms 1:1-3 We bind and rebuke the devil from their lives and the lives of their children knowing that YOU who is in us is greater than he that is in this world. We are not fighting this fight alone, nor are we fighting for Victory but FROM VICTORY. We know you WIN. Help us to never lose sight of that fact. In Jesus Mighty Name we Pray. Amen

Heavenly father, I pray and agree for myself as a parent of a prodigal homosexual married to a psychic man I know the grief and the Anquish and the judgment from other people my son has turned away from his family. We love him dearly and have always prayed for him as well as anybody that was in his life, but he has turned from us. I thank you for this faith filled article. I will be praying it often. I lift up all the other parents and grandparents praying comfort for peace and strength, I believe God‘s word the children of the righteous shall-be delivered and i decree his covenant with us. His word shall not return void but shall accomplish what God says that it will. My husband and I are standing in faith that the enemy will not win no weapon formed against our family will prosper , we have experienced in much anguish and grief and pain, but we are determined that the enemy will not win and that in the name and the blood of Jesus we and our household will be saved in Jesus name amen. Amen.
