The countdown to our election is nearing. Many people believe this could be the most important election ever and that it’s about the soul and future of America.
Recently, IFA leaders have sensed a growing burden to pray for President Trump. On August 28, 2024, on Give Him 15, Dutch Sheets explained that earlier in the week, he and his wife, Ceci, received the same sense of urgency to pray for President Trump. They believed God was revealing the danger of another attempt against his life and other governmental leaders.
This post focuses on prayer for President Trump. IFA has published other articles to help pray for Vice President Harris.
Let’s join in praying for President Trump.
Protection from plots and people
Pray for supernatural protection and his family as he runs for President (see Psalm 91, Psalm 121:7).
Pray that any schemes to kill or harm him will be exposed and thwarted (see Psalm 21:11, Job 42:2).
Pray that man’s plans fail and God’s plan prevails.
Pray for the people surrounding President Trump. Ask God to expose and remove from him those who give foolish counsel, are opportunists, or are traitorous (see Proverbs 27:6, 2 Samuel 15:31 ).
Pray that God’s plan for President Trump will prevail (see Proverbs 16:9, Psalm 33:11, Psalm 37:23 ).
Divine Guidance
Pray that President Trump will NOT rely on his wisdom, strength, or resources but trust the Lord for everything (Proverbs 3:5-9, Psalm 25:5).
Pray he will receive wise biblical counsel and instruction from the Lord (see Psalm 32:8, Proverbs 1:5).
Pray that God will speak to him through dreams, visions, and other people. Pray that he will hear the word of the Lord (see Job 33:15-18, Psalm 119:105).
A Heart After God
The Bible upholds King David as exemplifying godly leadership. He was a mighty warrior and King, but he was also a worshipper who sought the Lord before he did anything concerning the nation. (And when he didn’t, the nation of Israel suffered.)
Pray for President Trump to have a heart that’s God-willed, not self-willed (see Psalm 51:10, Proverbs 4:23, Proverbs 27:19).
Pray for President Trump to be filled with the Holy Spirit (see 1 Samuel 10:6).
A Spirit of Prayer
While he was in office, we all saw pictures of President Trump in the media, either in church or praying, and these are great things. Pray that he seeks God even more in private than in public.
Pray He will approach the throne of God, seeking His mercy and grace (see Hebrews 4:16, Matthew 6:6).
A Spirit of Repentance
The Bible tells us, “For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body” (James 3:2). We also know that “if we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us” (1 John 1:8) but “if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).
Pray for President Trump to be aware of his sin, confess it, and repent of it (see Proverbs 28:13, Proverbs 21:2).
Choose Humility & Reject Pride
Many intercessors and prophets heard from God during his presidency and prayed for him. A few believe he is having a “Nebuchadnezzar moment” (see Daniel 4:28-37). In the Bible, pride caused many kings who started out serving the Lord to act presumptuously and stumble; some even sinned against Him.
Pray for President Trump to choose humility. It is the way of the kingdom, modeled by the Lord Jesus Christ (see 1 Peter 5:6, James 4:6).
Break off any ungodly alliances.
King Jehosophat loved the Lord but aligned himself with wicked King Ahab through marriage. His son married Ahab’s daughter, which was a foolish alliance (see 2 Chronicles 18:1-8), and a prophet rebuked him for it. Likewise, King Asa started out serving the Lord but allied with a pagan king for help. He was also rebuked and, out of anger, persecuted the prophet God sent him and began to afflict the people (see 2 Chronicles 16:1-14).
Pray that if President Trump has any ungodly alliances, he will separate from them (see Psalm 1:1, 2 Kings 20:12-13).
Pray His allegiance will be to the Lord (see Deuteronomy 11:1, 1 Kings 22:48 ).
Church, fix your eyes on Jesus.
We cannot blame our leaders and government for everything. They are accountable, but we, the church, also need humility, repentance, and prayer. God has always intervened for those who cried out to Him in desperation. It’s prominent throughout scripture. However, we read that after they were delivered, they went right back to the sinful conditions that caused their captivity. Let’s not make those same mistakes.
Part of humility is admitting we don’t know everything; we don’t have all the answers, but we know and trust the One who does. A big part of humility is admitting when we were wrong. Pride refuses to look like a fool, refuses accountability, and never accepts wrongdoing. The church has been equally guilty of pride.
Some of us were caught up in prophetic mania in the years before the 2020 elections. I’m preaching to myself on that one. Let’s not be found the way we were leading into the last elections. Going into the previous elections, we were arrogant and proud. Let’s humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God. In the previous election cycle, we, the church, were at war with one other, both before and after. Let’s be like the church in Acts 2, which was in accord. They were united in heart, mind, and action, awaiting the outpouring of God’s Spirit. They believed they would see what he promised.
Pray for God’s will to be done for our elections (see Isaiah 55:8-9, Matthew 6:10).
Pray that God’s plans and purposes for America will prevail over the enemy’s plan (see Romans 8:28, Job 42:2).
Pray for an awakening in America, and let it begin in Your church (see Psalm 33:11, Ephesians 5:8-17).
Intercessors pray; we don’t presume. We presumed the 2020 elections would end in our favor, but that did not happen. God often brings before my heart the Lord’s Prayer (see Matthew 6:9-13), and I cannot get away from it. Specifically, “Your kingdom come, You will be done, on Earth as it is in heaven.” When you don’t know how to pray, you can never go wrong, praying God’s will be done.
Give us the fear of the Lord.
The disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray, and he said, “Pray this way.” After He addresses the Father, He says, “Hallowed be Your name.” He is and will always be holy, sacred, and worthy of all our worship and reverence. Some have lost the fear of the Lord and have given into fear of man. God’s word is clear on this: The fear of man is a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe (Proverbs 29:25). If you fear how the elections will turn out, surrender it to the Lord. He will keep us safe, no matter the outcome. He promises to protect us and is faithful in keeping His word.
Father,
We humbly come before You on behalf of our elections and, more importantly, for our nation. We lift President Donald J. Trump before you. We thank You for every plan against him that has failed, for the lies that were exposed, and for the attempt against his life that was not allowed to succeed. Protect him from future plots. Remove and expose those around him who are pretenders. We are thankful for all the good he accomplished and recognize his humanity. He is not perfect, just as we are not.
We pray that President Trump will live a life of repentance and humility before you.
We know he came from a lineage marked by revival. We pray for an encounter with Your Presence that will mark his life forever. We pray for him to seek fully after You. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, and change him into a new man.
Speak to him in dreams and visions, through godly counsel, or even when he’s praying. Make your plans known to him. It’s Your plans and counsel that will stand forever. Let Your kingdom come; let Your will be done in America as it is in heaven. In Jesus’ name, amen.

I sense that the Enemy sits on Donald Trump’s shoulders. In Jesus’ name, let us pray the rites of exorcism over Donald Trump:
I cast you OUT, unclean spirit, along with every Satanic power of the enemy, every spectre from hell, and all your fell companions; in the name of our Lord Jesus +Christ. Begone and stay far from this creature of God.+ For it is He who commands you, He who flung you headlong from the heights of heaven into the depths of hell. It is He who commands you, He who once stilled the sea and the wind and the storm. Praying for Donald J Trump to humble himself before the Lord. We will gain wisdom from the Lord for the debate. Protect him from the enemy. May we have. Fair election
Two days ago, in the early morning, I woke up, and started praying for Trump. The phrase “he will be turned into another man”, came to me, and I started praying and declaring it. I am pretty sure it was from God, because it was so strange, I don’t think I just came up with that on my own, especially early in the morning half awake and half asleep. I knew it was from the Bible: I Samuel 10:6-7. I have been thinking about it ever since, and praying for confirmation. I felt like I got it this morning, when I read the sentence in Gloria’s prayer, “change him into a new man.” Her whole prayer is so powerful. God is so merciful.

I pray for President Trump daily.. I pray that he would get elected this November. I pray that he seeks an even deeper relationship with You. I get it that he is a mere mortal, with feet of clay ,just like all of us. He IS a far cry better suited to run our nation than his opponent. Thank You Jesus.

These precious prayer requests are much needed, not only for President Trump but for us all. It is way too easy to become separated from God’s will. How we need daily connection and commitment to Our Lord !! He is the shepherd. We are the sheep. Wanted to share something with you that rang an alarm bell in me while watching Mark Levin on Fox channel. President Trump was sharing that he was a Christian and said I’ll do what’s good and I’ll get to Heaven. If I do what’s bad I won’t. Dear friends, no one can be good enough to be allowed into Heaven. The standard is perfection. Romans says all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. God’s plan is that Jesus took all our sins away by His death, burial, and resurrection. The only way to go to Heaven is through Christ’s sacrifice. We do good with our lives to thank Jesus for His beautiful act that He did for us on the cross. John 14: 6 says Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but by Him. Let’s all be praying one for another.
Before 2016 election I had a dream a large thumb smashed through Trumps campaign bus crushing those inside. I rebuked this Satanic attack and still do.
Was it a Chinese made bus? Can you recall the brand and the date – we may be able to track down the dream and see if there were casualties or not.
I doubt it was a Greyhound, I’ve travelled Greyhound and as far as I remember they are ‘dreamproofed’. You would certainly have to pay up front if you wanted a Greyhound in a dream about Trump – greyhounds have some pride..
I felt the strong sense to pray today (more than what I have been doing). The Lord told me they are planning evil things. So I am in a state of fervent prayer today. The Lord told me a few years ago, “ I will destroy their nefarious plans”, and she showed me Psalm 91:8, “watch and see with your eyes the reward of the wicked.” So I pray in agreement with the Lord and declare His word!
Pray that after seeing the Regan movie, more Americans will believe that God is on the throne, and He directs man’s steps and intervenes in the future of America. Regan lost his first attempt running against Ford, then defeated Goldwalter…And Pat Boone prophesied over him at his CA residence. He came into the presidency during turbulent times too…Russia, riots at Berkley and the Iran-Contra arms investigation…
Praying for our President
Blesses other Nations and saves lives.
To be fair: the media and political landscape is WAY worse than it was during Reagan’s time as our institutional apparatuses resemble that of the “Evil Empire” more and more, and the ‘Cold War’ is raging from within.
But God remains unchanged.
I pray for that same all-Red electoral map from 1984! Red Sea red!
Reagan became president after Americans had been disillusioned over the Nixon and Carter administrations and had lost their ability to believe in their ideals and inflation was out of control. Reagan turned that around. He believed in American when no one else did. And he handled the Cold War politics so well that the Soviet Union collapsed soon after he left office. He was a once in a generation leader and that is why he is considered one of our greatest presidents. At the present moment, we need either a president who uses words as carefully as Reagan did and has diplomacy skills or will surround himself with advisors who will not tell him what he wants to hear but want he needs to understand.

There is no need to pray for Jesus. But there is a need to pray for those He uses, particularly, those in authority. Regarding Pres. Trump, I pray that the strengths I see in him are sanctified. I pray that his weaknesses are mitigated. I pray that his advisors are few. I pray for his protection, and VP Harris’ protection, together, with the pastors who remind us, “we live behind enemy lines”.

Lord I pray for Trump to be enlightened about not trying to divide the Land of Israel. God forgive America for pushing the damnable two-State plan which is directly against Your Word.
While President Trump and his family are always in my prayers, I am nonplussed by your remark about Trump hurting people of Israel. This prayer sadly turned into an opinion piece which is both confusing and controversial.

Lord, I believe that President Trump is a Christian. Please let him know that as a Christian, he is already a new creation in Christ and that your Holy Spirit lives in him, Gal 2:20. Remind him to walk in your Spirit and follow your leading. Thank you for leading your people to pray for his protection and for our country. I believe Trump has a softened heart for the Word of God and people of God, but I still pray for his salvation.

I pray that Donald Trump will have a humble heart and that, like he did during the first months of his first administration, he will recognize when he doesn’t know something and will listen carefully to the wise counsel of those who know more than he does.
I pray that even now, while he campaigns for office, that he doesn’t keep repeating his same mistakes and realizes he needs to understand and reframe his campaign in order to reach the moderate Republicans, Independents and moderate Democrats who are the ones will decide this election.

Heavenly Father God, we praise You and thank You for saving President Trump’s life recently. We are thankful too, that Trump publicly thanked You and gave You the honor and blessing for that. We pray now, that You will cover him and his entire family with the protection of the Host of Heaven, today and every day, as they continue with this political compaign.
