Have you ever thought to take authority in the Spirit over the money that flows into evil causes?

It’s easy for us to shake our heads in dismay when we hear, yet again, that ultra-rich wicked people, whose net worth ranks in the billions, are funneling unimaginable amounts of money into the cause of sin. However, I believe it’s time not just for us to shake our heads about this, but rather to stand in prayer in the authority Christ gave us, interceding before the throne of grace for the funding of evil to be stopped.

After all, everything in heaven and earth belongs to God—including the money that wicked people think is their own.

According to Psalm 50:10-12, the whole world is God’s:

For every beast of the forest is Mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills. I know all the birds of the mountains, and the wild beasts of the field are Mine. If I were hungry, I would not tell you; for the world is Mine, and all its fullness (Psalm 50:10-12 NKJV).

Psalm 24:1 tells us the same thing:

The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein (Psalm 24:1 NKJV).

So does 1 Chronicles 29:10-13:

Therefore David blessed the Lord before all the assembly; and David said: “Blessed are You, Lord God of Israel, our Father, forever and ever. Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power and the glory, the victory and the majesty; for all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and You are exalted as head over all.

Both riches and honor come from You, and You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might; in Your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all.

Now therefore, our God, we thank You and praise Your glorious name” (1 Chronicles 29:10-13 NKJV).

And Jesus told us specifically that we have the authority to bind and loose—and to agree together, and have the Father do whatever thing for us. He taught us this in Matthew 18, when He said the following:

“Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.

For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:18-20 NKJV).

So, God has all authority and wealth. He owns everything, and we have authority in Jesus.

Not only that, but the Word of God directly relates the ownership of money to the re-establishment of God’s manifest glory on the earth.

Look at what Haggai 2:6-9 tells us:

For thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,’ says the Lord of hosts.

‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘And in this place I will give peace,’ says the Lord of hosts (Haggai 2:6-9 NKJV).

Although the passage from Haggai 2 is specifically talking about the rebuilding of the temple, I want you to see these principles in this passage:

• God’s people had a work to do, for His glory;
• God reassured them that He would do the work and bring them into peace; and
• He assured them that all the resources needed to do the work belonged to HIM (and thus would be amply provided to His people).

Well, let’s compare that to God’s work in our beloved United States of America:

• We definitely have a work to do for God’s glory in our land.
• We know that, without Jesus, we can do nothing. So, Jesus is still going to have to do all the work through us and on our behalf, as we pray and obey; and
• All the money still belongs to God, and it will be provided to us!

Money answers all things, according to Ecclesiastes 10:19:

A feast is made for laughter, and wine makes merry; but money answers everything (Ecclesiastes 10:19 NKJV).

So, without money—without the ability to “answer” things, or accomplish initiatives—it stands to reason that the cause of the wicked will be severely handicapped or stopped entirely.

Therefore, my friend …

If the funding belongs to God, and its assignment is to glorify His name, let’s take authority over its unholy diversion into the hands of the wicked today!

I don’t think we have to belabor a prayer about this. Instead, why don’t we all memorize a short prayer that binds the money from flowing into the coffers of wickedness, and which LOOSES God’s money to flow into the treasuries of the righteous? And then, we can lift up that prayer to the Father often.

If you are in agreement, let’s pray this short prayer for evil funding to dry up today:

“Dear Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ name, we acknowledge that all the silver and gold belong to You. In the holy name of Jesus, we bind all wealth, money, and funding AWAY from the wicked, and we LOOSE it into the treasuries of the righteous. We command all money to move into the treasuries of God’s people NOW, in Jesus’ name.

And in Jesus’ name, we ask, Father, that You would move sovereignly in response to our prayer and declaration. Take away the funding from the wicked, and give it exclusively into the hands of Your people. Let all the money be used henceforth for Your glory, and only for righteous causes; for the world and all its wealth belong to You. Thank You, Abba Father. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.”
