We have previously covered Oklahoma’s Superintendent Ryan Walters, who is now facing serious backlash over bringing Bibles back to schools. As he faces this wave of opposition for doing the right thing, let’s cover him in prayer!

The son of a pastor and a former history teacher, Walters has taken the national spotlight for mandating Oklahoma teachers to use a physical copy of the Bible during student instruction, alongside the U.S. Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and the Ten Commandments. He insists these documents are crucial for a proper education. …
Critics argue that this mandate crosses the line between religious instruction and secular education, a line defined by Supreme Court rulings such as Engel v. Vitale (1962) and Abington School District v. Schempp (1963), which prohibit school-sponsored Bible readings and prayer.
“We have seen the Supreme Court starting in the 1960s and then the teachers’ unions, in every practical way, pushing the Bible out of schools,” Walters said. “When I came into office, we had multiple threats of lawsuits from national atheist organizations telling teachers to remove the Bible… to remove Bible verses, to never mention God or Jesus in the classroom. Well, think about the absurdity of that. How do you teach the Pilgrims, why they came to America, if you can’t ever mention the Bible?”
Several organizations, including the ACLU, have filed lawsuits against Walters’ office, arguing that the mandate violates the Establishment Clause of the U.S. Constitution, which prohibits government-sponsored religious activities in public schools. …
The ACLU has also filed a lawsuit against Walters and Oklahoma’s Statewide Virtual Charter School Board, challenging the approval of St. Isidore of Seville Catholic Virtual School, which could become the nation’s first publicly funded religious charter school. Critics argue that using taxpayer dollars for religious schools violates both the Oklahoma Constitution and the Establishment Clause.
“We’re continuing to fight to give St. Isidore the ability to open up,” Walters explained. “We’ve had several legal battles. I’m very optimistic this will move to the U.S. Supreme Court, and we will be allowed to open the school. I’ve been advocating for this school. It’s the first Christian charter school in the country. We are very excited to have that here in Oklahoma, but again, we’ve got some legal hurdles to overcome.”
These cases are among the dozens of lawsuits filed against Walters’ office, which also include claims of wrongful termination, whistleblower retaliation, and other constitutional violations. …

In Mathew 25 when Christ commanded us to love God and all your neighbors including your enemies, he meant to feed, clothe, or visit your sick or jailed enemies He didn’t mean for us to be like them. He meant for our kind example to inspire them to be like true Christians too. So, yes, pray to love our enemies, all of them.
Father God, May these efforts of Ryan Walters prevail In placing Bibles and the 10 Commandments,, and other Historic documents back in schools. When Universties like Harvard, Yale, Princeton and others were founded on these Christian documents, and our History itself speaks of the Puritans and other Christians who risked their lives in the effort to establish these Freedoms that we hold so dear. Let us Pray for Righteousness to have its way in accordance with God’s will .

There is a problem as you know. The USA is a secular state with no official religion. The constitution does not mention the Trinity and is therefore not Christian. Is this good man happy for other religions

We are talking about how America was founded and the principles. Separation of church and state is found nowhere in the constitution. If Americans really read the constitution and studied our true history they would know the truth and that darkness is trying to destroy America. I think Ryan Walters is doing a great job and setting an example for other states to do the same. I never had a problem with the Bible being in school when I was a child. In the middle of my sixth grade year the government removed the Bible from out classrooms. I was disappointed and confused by this action which made no sense to me at that time. In later years when studying world history I was always trying to relate what happen in the Bible to what was going on in the world during those times. I think it will be amazing to have that correlation between Biblical history and world history in the classrooms. Trying to bring this back into the classroom will take some time to develop but will be well worth the effort. The Bible is the oldest history book on earth and should not be treated as if it is nonessential. There is so much knowledge in its pages that all students can benefit from learning, in a few years we will see a better quality citizen.
This has been a prayer on my heart since I was a youth for the Bibles to be back in schools. I remember driving through San Francisco in early 2000. The rainbow flags were lining the streets. I remember talking with the Lord about this and thinking it’s this was because Bibles have been taken out of schools. When I got home I told my grandpa who was a pastor about what I had felt. He gave me the book on the woman who got the Bibles removed from the schools. I devoured her biography. I remember thinking if one person can get the Bibles out then one person can get them back in. I’m so happy to hear about this man of courage doing just that. Greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world.
Jesus, we lift up Ryan Walters and we pray for continued strength and courage for this mighty man of God as he forges the way forward. May you give him the victory and may this set a precedent for our entire nation. Bless him and his family with protection and peace. In Jesus name amen!
The biggest weird thing about this is …
The establishment clause is actually being violated by Atheism in this country.
Atheism is a religion that is teaching its molecules to man origin story as fact and “science” and making the kids answer test questions about it as truth not as religion.
There is no problem with Re aching atheistic and christian worldviews as such and testing the kids on their understanding of the worldviews. The problem is when we teach these worldviews and then give the kids litmus tests on them as truth.
So this attack on Walters is hypocrisy as the other side is established wrongly in the public schools.
Bible believers are taxpayers. Last I checked public schools are to represent the public and news flash: There are lots of Bible believers in our communities! Christian dollars can pay for everything else to be in classroom, why not the Bible? My solution is: give us our money back and let us decide what we want to fund!!

It is a bit late for this – who would teach the Scripture – who would teach the Ten Commandments? What if the teacher is divorced and remarried or living with someone? Could such a person teach God’s Holy Word? The Bible is not like a Maths book – or a geography book.
There are plenty of true “Christians ” who can step up and teach the Bible. God will send the right ones to the right place in his time.
America was built on Biblical principles. It is a Christian Nation, and will return to what God created it for. To serve HIM not man.
Curriculum has already been developed and used in Christian private and parochial schools. God did not restrict who can read His Word and ultimately Holy Spirit teaches the teacher.
In consideration of all the resources that are taught in the classroom, the Bible should be including because of its profound impact on western civilization. America exist because of the Bible. Ryan walters has stated that it should be a historic and literary resource. He’s not asking ANYONE to teach theology. Now about divorce. God forgives divorcee and they are free to serve HIM with their lives.
We will assuredly pray for Ryan Walters as he is enduring horrible abuse through lawfare. We will pray that he comes out as innocent through the ruling of the Supreme Court, whenever that happens.

Atheism is a religion. Only an omniscient God could accurately say, “There is no God.” G.K. Chesterton put it another way in his autobiography. He said it would be truer to say that there are no Atheists. To take all positive mention of God out of the public schools is to establish Atheism as the state religion. The Atheists are themselves violating the establishment clause of the Constitution.

Lord, keep him stable, strong, diligent, in how he is representing You and himself. Give him wisdom to plead his case, and the lawyers representing him as well. Father, we ask for the judges in the courts to listen with righteous judgement on behalf of Superintendent Walters. We decree and declare that “NO weapon formed against Ryan Walters shall prosper and what is trying to come up against him will be showed wrong.” Lord, change the hearts of the atheist, the witches, the pharisees whom come against your Word, Your truth.
