Sean Spicer is not a Cabinet member, but is the acting Press Secretary and Communications Director for the President. He is under daily scrutiny as the “voice” of the White House. Born and raised as a Catholic, Spicer is another example of one who lives out his faith on the job.
Spicer, of Irish lineage, grew up in Rhode Island and attended a Catholic Benedictine high school. Spicer’s commitment to his faith brought some unexpected criticism last year when he appeared on CNN for an interview on Ash Wednesday. Twitter fans ridiculed him for wearing the traditional ashes on his forehead—until they learned of the ritual.
In a recent interview with the Global Catholic Network, Spicer was asked, “How is your faith going to help guide you?” He responded, “I’m going to look to God every day to give me the strength to do what’s right. That’s all you can ask for is to get up and to say ‘Can I do the right thing?’”
Spicer also shared how many of the senior members of President Trump’s administration are believers. “[They] are very proud of their faith and their religion,” he said, “and it’s going to help guide us [to] do the right thing for this country.” (From Intercessors for America monthly publication, The Connector. We so understand how hard your job is constantly under attack by the media. All these circumstances are orchestrated by Satan. He wants to stop America’s revival of putting God back into America. Know that many of us are praying for you by name to constantly be protected by Jesus. Every morning I pray that you put on the Armour of God. Whenever you are making a difference for God, the attacks will intensify. Also know that God’s protection for you and your family is more powerful than anything Satan sends your way. Please keep fighting the good fight for America so God can bless America again.

Please Lord, keep the media from shredding Sean Spicer. Help him to speak truth, keep confidences, have a sense of Your presence, receive strength for each day. Protect his heart & keep him from bitterness and anger. Give him diplomacy & a sense of humor. Allow him to serve You first, as he navigates the Communication channels and information. Keep the press from twisting his words or taking them out of context. Help him to be of service to the President. Keep the President consistent in his judgements & decision making, so Sean is not caught flat-footed with conflicting updates. Keep the press from asking biased questions or ones that would harm our national security or the people’s confidence in government leadership. Thank you Jesus for all You are and will continue to do through Sean Spicer. Protect his family, Lord. In Jesus’s name, Amen.

You and the president’s staff are in my prayers — you, however, are seen daily (and
sometimes another person, to sub for you). Which means that you are in the public eye
quite a bit.
My prayer is for you to keep your composure and I thank God that you can “think on your
feet” and I pray that you not get “rattled”. Those first weeks showed you have stamina!

Keep using “gentle responses to turn away the wrath(and contempt)” of those you can face, whose desire is to make you and President Trump look bad.
