Many of President Trump’s cabinet members are faithful Christians, but some hold to other creeds and faiths. As the President tackles herculean tasks and seeks to make our nation great again, we should be in prayer that only the one true God will have a place in his ear and his administration.

Tulsi Gabbard was confirmed last week as Director of National Intelligence. While many conservatives rallied behind her as President Trump’s choice for the role, it is important to note that, unlike many of the President’s other nominees, she is not a believer. Rather, she is a practicing member of the Vaishnava denomination of the Hindu faith.
A recent article published by ISKCON News describes Gabbard as a “practicing Vaishnavi” who “isn’t shy about her beliefs, regularly releasing videos appreciating significant Hindu holidays.” The article states that she has spoken at various Hindu events and festivals, and that she “was also the first national politician to take the oath of office on her personal copy of the Bhagavad-gita,” a Hindu scripture.
These facts are not disqualifying. Gabbard’s Hindu faith does not disqualify her from being the Director of National Intelligence any more than Pete Hegseth’s Christian faith disqualifies him from being the Secretary of Defense. Her Hindu faith does, however, present an opportunity and a need for prayer.
President Trump seems to have surrounded himself with Christians in his second term. We know that God has been working on him, especially since the first attempt on his life in July. Nevertheless, Satan would love nothing more than to sneak into the White House and lead him astray. And, unfortunately, Gabbard’s adherence to pagan beliefs opens a door to the President that the Enemy maneuver his way through.
How can we pray to keep this from happening?
- Pray that President Trump would seek only the Lord for wisdom and instruction. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths (Prov. 3:5-6).
- Pray that the officials in the Trump administration would never seek wisdom from false gods. My people ask counsel from their wooden idols, And their staff informs them. For the spirit of harlotry has caused them to stray, And they have played the harlot against their God (Hosea 4:12).
- Pray for those in the Trump administration who do not know the Lord to be saved. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Tim. 2:3-4).

The government of elected and appointed officials is full of unsaved people practicing idolatry. Some worship Mary, some many false gods like Hinduism, Islam, some wolves in sheep clothing,.. some Free Masons, some in Trump’s “Christian” council should not be there, Trump’s own family are Chabad Jews – not following the God of the Bible. Research for yourself. Pray for all leaders salvation and humility. Where is the fruit??

Trump must have trustworthy cabinet members with no opportunities for other gods to slip in.
We prayed for God’s appointees, not man’s and since Tulsi is God’s choice we trust His judgement, plans and purposes. We cover God’s plans in prayer and also God’s plan that Tulsi will also come to faith in Christ Jesus. She has an excellent spirit like Caleb and Joshua, so God will not only bless her work and her office, but make her His daughter as well. Tulsi we bless you in the LORD’s name. Praying that God will reveal Himself to Tulsi Gabbard and she will accept Jesus Christ as her Savior.
It is with sorrow and concern that I read this article. As an IFA supporter in many ways, I have to say that I’m surprised that this article was published.
First, it was shocking to see Tulsi Gabbard‘s photo juxtaposed to the title of the article. It seemed to me that she was being targeted from the get-go. Yes, I have heard her say that she is a practicing Hindu. And yet, Tulsi, is representative of, not only the very fine and varied choices which our President has made for those who will be pivotal in his administration, she is representative of America.
Our nation is not a theocracy. There are many people serving in government, and who will serve in government, who are of different faiths and of none. To begin criticizing the President and the administration at this very critical juncture of this new term, can create division cloaked under the guise of prayer.
Yes, we should pray for everyone in the administration. I do not dispute that. But, more to the point, I believe that when we pray for those who are Christians in the administration to take up the great commission to be both salt and light to those around them, that is the dynamic way to focus prayer to strengthen those who have this blessed opportunity to bring Christ into the midst of the administration. We, who are privileged to be called to the ministry of intercession, must do our best in prayer to spread the aroma of Christ across every part of President Trump‘s Administration.
We need to remember that God’s Word clearly shows us that our Lord has chosen nonbelievers, even foreigners, to mightily advance his Kingdom. Caleb, who was not an Israelite, was chosen to accompany Joshua into the promised land. And our Lord led King Xerxes, through the faithful witness of Queen Esther and Mordecai, to help save his people from destruction.
I thank God that he has chosen frail and broken vessels, such as you and me, with his sacred mission of prayer, both for those who know and serve him, and especially, for those who don’t. I agree with one earlier comment that we should focus our prayer on praying ‘for’ rather than praying ‘against’. One of our great repeated prayer themes leading up to the election was that the Lord would inspire and guide President Trump’s choices of who would serve in his administration. I choose to thank the Lord for answering this prayer and wait upon him to reveal his great purposes in all of this.
Dear Father, I am so grateful that we are all in agreement with our prayers, that united we stand, and that Your ways are higher than ours, that You see all and we trust in You!

Yes, I have prayed for her ever since I realized she was a Hindu. I pray she and Abraham come to saving faith. Tulsi is a patriot and an intelligent person so I think her Hindu roots of holding life sacred would prevent her from making trash decisions. Being in the military means that she would pick up her weapon and use it if the enemy were to come against America. Your point of praying for her salvation is most important but we do know there are wolves in sheep’s clothing throughout the government. We must continue to pray all the more. We are the warriors who fight the battle for the Kingdom of God. How blessed we are!!!
The Title of this article is offensive to me and should be offensive to an Christian.
After reading the article, I saw that it was simply a case of “stupid title” – which happens to anyone who writes.
The two prayers “Pray that the officials in the Trump administration would never seek wisdom from false gods.” and “Pray for those in the Trump administration who do not know the Lord to be saved.” both reflect a good Christian viewpoint
We all encounter people who need this sort of prayer. Such encounters are a blessing. Any time we begin to “pray against” rather than “praying for” we are not aligned with God.
No one is praying against Tulsi- far from it. But we simply want to protect the work from any demonic influence that Tulsi might – unknowingly bring in, though she herself has an excellent spirit just like Caleb and Joshua and God surely has His hand on Tulsi herself as much as on her work. So we bless both Tulsi and her work in Jesus’ and we welcome her. Amen!
The capitalization of gods in the title is purely a correct literary grammatical requirement of the English language.

I do have one question… why is the word ‘gods’ in the title capitalized? Only The One True God, Yehovah and His Son and Holy Spirit merit a capitol letter… other so called ‘gods’ are not gods at all but fallen angels.

Not all of the so-called Christians he has surrounded himself with are upholding to the truth of God and his word. Some indeed are wolves in sheep’s clothing.

Pray for Tulse, but more over Paula White as a Faith adviser. She does not represent believers in Christ at all, maybe in name only. A better choice would be Jonathon Lamb.
I also hope everyone would lift up Paula White in prayer. I have felt uneasy about her designation as faith advisor. Father, please help her to keep her advice to the president rooted solely in your Word.

Pray also for Vice President Vance’s wife-that she would become a believer in Jesus Christ as her Savior. I believe she is of the Hindu faith. A wife’s belief can have a profound effect on a husband and their children.

Dear JESUS, You are recognized by Hindus as a great teacher, an avatar of God, and they believe in a code of ethics that should lead to living a moral life.
