I Prayed have prayed
Father, we pray for impartial and non-partisan justice. We ask You to protect the innocent in our nation and restore our justice system.

The weaponization of the three letter agencies, lawfare against political opponents, bias in prosecution, decriminalizing and then claiming crime is down — all of these are evidence of a distortion of justice. This excerpt from Dave Kubal’s new book will encourage you and guide your prayer for justice.

Unequal weights are an abomination to the Lord, and false scales are not good. (Proverbs 20:23)

The next time you visit Washington, D.C., examine the artwork in and around our nation’s halls of power. There are stories to be told in those sculptures, reliefs, engravings, and paintings about the values our nation is built on—fundamental beliefs that we are urged not to forget.

Connect with others in your state in prayer.

 

In front of the U.S. Supreme Court, for example, you will see at the base of a lamppost a relief of a blindfolded woman holding a sword and scales. This is a depiction of ideal Justice—its power, balance, and impartiality. It is a noteworthy symbol to remind those in or entering the court (and those across the street in the U.S. Capitol) of just how important the embrace of true justice is for our land.

Sadly, the integrity of our nation’s justice systems has been compromised. We have talked about fair rulings from the U.S. Supreme Court, but the same cannot be said in the executive branch. While the sword remains sharp, the blindfold appears to have come off, and the scales are using uneven weights.

 

Think back to the IRS targeting of conservative nonprofit organizations during the Obama administration. Or consider law enforcement’s focus on the welfare of abortion clinics versus attention to pro-life pregnancy-resource centers that have been viciously targeted in the wake of Roe v. Wade’s overturn. Think, too, of how “progressive” demonstrations are treated versus the rallies of those on the right. And look at investigations into President Trump and his colleagues versus those scrutinizing questionable characters in the orbit of the Clinton and Biden teams.

There is not an equally weighted standard.

The harm in each of these cases is not limited only to the immediate parties. The larger danger is the general erosion of trust in our government, the undermining of our republic that is set up to protect fundamental liberties and ensure our security as a nation.

As we pray today for the integrity of justice to be restored in our land, let’s remember the words engraved in another corner of Washington, on the walls of the Jefferson Memorial. There we find this line from the Declaration of Independence: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men. … ”

May our nation’s halls of power treat the people of this land with the equality and respect for liberty we all are due.

PRAY

Pray that those entrusted with the powers of our justice system would serve without prejudice or political agenda. May those who would weaponize law enforcement be thwarted.

Thank God for public servants who work to the utmost of their ability, but not to favor anyone based on race, religion, wealth, ideology, or any other factor, as they seek a just society.

May the people of this nation remember that we are all created equal by God and deserve equal dignity within our justice systems.

ENGAGE

Contact candidates for a local judge or state attorney general post, and ask them how they will actively use the powers of the justice system without impartiality. How will they prevent distortion of justice?

Father, your words shows us time and time again that you hate injustice. You judge Injustice. In your word Lord there’s a story of Jehoshaphat. There was a time where he spoke to the judges reminding them of their Duty we find it in 2 Chronicles 19
4 Jehoshaphat lived in Jerusalem, and he went out again among the people from Beersheba to the hill country of Ephraim and turned them back to the Lord, the God of their ancestors. 5 He appointed judges in the land, in each of the fortified cities of Judah. 6 He told them, “Consider carefully what you do, because you are not judging for mere mortals but for the Lord, who is with you whenever you give a verdict. 7 Now let the fear of the Lord be on you. Judge carefully, for with the Lord our God there is no injustice or partiality or bribery.

I pray that our judges would be reminded of this mandate. But I also pray for prosecutors and attorneys in our whole legal system that they would be mindful to bring about proper Justice. That they would understand that they stand before not only the law but God himself. And they would take that charge seriously. Reform our legal system rightly and bring it under the mandate to honor you. In Jesus name amen

Thanks Brother Dave for this essential reminder !! The validity of our justice system is an exact mirror of our leadership. When we return to God our “Washington “ truth and justice will return to our land.
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America ,and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible ,with liberty and justice for all.
In JESUS name we decree !!! Hallelujah
