From The Texan. Abortions in Texas fell over 97 percent after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June, even before Texas’ abortion “trigger ban” went into effect.

According to new data from Texas Health and Human Services on “induced terminations of pregnancy,” just 68 abortions were performed in July, down from 2,596 in June. An average of 2,854 abortions were performed each month in the first half of 2022.
This means that abortions fell dramatically in Texas in response to the June 24 ruling even before the Human Life Protection Act or “trigger ban” went into effect on August 25.
Under the ban, abortion is outlawed except for procedures to save the mother’s life or prevent substantial bodily impairment, categories that include removing miscarried children and ectopic pregnancies.
Violation is punishable by five to 99 years in prison and fines of up to $10,000; medical professionals can have their licenses suspended; and the attorney general may seek civil fines of up to $100,000.
The law applies to everyone who aids or assists in the performance of an abortion except the mother herself. …

Father, as we have prayed many times… let there be a change of heart, and not just a change of law. Law cannot rule the heart… If hearts are turned towards godliness, it won’t matter what the law says. Thank you though that abortion is no longer the law of the land, as that removes a curse…but until hearts are convicted of the value of life, women will continue to find a way to rid themselves of these “unwanted” precious lives. Come, Holy Spirit, and cleanse us of all ungodliness.

The laws against abortion in Texas are not strong enough to protect babies from being slaughtered. Women are just traveling to other states to murder their babies. We’re seeing a great number of Texas license tagged vehicles coming to Planned Parenthood in Kansas now along with representation of other states that have more prohibitive abortion laws. If those states would criminalize abortion, recognizing it as murder, then these women couldn’t just skip town and murder their babies elsewhere. Abortion is murder and it must be abolished!
That you know of. Now the abortions occur underground. The rates maybe higher than you think.
I am definitely encouraged by this article and very thankful. God is good. How we continue this is by continuing to minister and provide more women health clinics or housing to help encouragement.

I believe Christianity and pragmatism are entirely incompatible. I pray all those mothers prevented from aborting will learn to love their babies and raise them to be exceptional members of society.
Might God give them strength and enrich their lives and families.

For all the mothers who cannot give their babies a good home, let them see adoption as an alternative to abortion. There are many couples that are longing for a baby.
The numbers may be down in Texas but that doesn’t mean women aren’t getting abortions. In the PRC I work with women are turning to chemical abortions and finding ways to get the pills sent to them in Texas or going out of state. We will need to see if the birth rate rises to find out the real affect of this law. We need to be praying for a revival of the hearts of mothers to their children.
I agree. I would love to believe that there was a reduction in abortions. However, there has to be a heart change, leading to a choice for morality and a change to righteousness. If there is not, then the women seeking abortions will find another way to do it.
